I know the NBA like to award someone on a winning team...but when a player is playing out of his mind like Kobe did you gotta give them the MVP. Even though the Lakers struggled a bit back in this season I loved it, watching a whole team gear up to stop Kobe but he still goes off was amazing.
Kobe's lineup was Smush Parker, Luke Waltom, Kwame Brown and Lamar Odom. Goddam Jerry Buss supposed to be the legendary recruiter but he this is what you give kobe in his peak? If kobe had the luxury like MJ of having the same core team plus Phil Jackson around him every year of his athletic prime no doubt that he would have surpasses jordan in rings.
Buzzer beaters aren't everything. Reason why I say this is because a lot of Kobe's game winners were not at the buzzer, but in late game situations that changed the whole outcome of the game. Majority of them are impossible shots nobidy ekse in NBA history could make
ill give kobe that... there were some shots in late playoff games (like against the magic for example) where he would make fadeaway with 2-3 defenders in his face and you just sit back and say "holy shit!"
This doesn't do the justice, 06 kobe is arguably the greatest player that ever played. It's certainly one of the greatest individual seasons by any player
Eliezer Machuca with more talent, the most valuable player is the last person a team could afford to lose. Kobe had that team in a respectable area of the west, without him and they'd be dogshit
Josh Schmidt the mvp award goes to the most valuable player, and that usually means that the player brought his team to one of the best records in the league
redSkinzFAN100 the mvp award goes to the player a team couldn't afford to lose. Kobe brought that trash ass team to a 45-37 record while Nash had a much better team leading them to a 54-28 record. It should also be mentioned that Kobe averaged 35 5 4 while Nash averaged 18 4 10... It's pretty clear Kobe was robbed
I don't think people ever talk about how incredibly difficult that shot to tie the game vs the suns was. Bean's shot making ability is definitely the best I've ever seen
That number three play was incredible with a few seconds left tough defense save the ball from going out of bounds hustle back down the court make the time layup he was absolutely incredible
Kobe the goat when its said and done, has no weakness in his game, boutta b 18th season cumin up still lookin like the best from wat I seen before he got injured
it was a time when I literally hated kobe bcus it seem like he never missed every time he played against my favorite player and would always take and make these highly contested shots
There's no way he'd beat San Antonio or Golden State, I'm sorry but he just can't. The thunder already beat the breaks off of LA and San Antonio is probably better than ever and Kobe got spanked by them multiple times in his prime. He can't outscore OKC's backcourt and he has no supporting cast. He needs a good center and people to run triangle with.
***** the 2014 Spurs was really their best squad. Watch bballbreakdown evolution of the Spurs offense. Idk what I was on though. Kobe went off against the Spurs countless times.
Agreed! Different styles and different positions. I mean Blake is also a great player, but you dont expect him to make those game winning buzzer beaters
+bballislife7158 what difference it make? its ok u just didn't have nothing better to say....im still in h.s anyway i doubt ima receive a grade for this youtube comment
Anderson A. point is, there are things LeBron can do that Kobe cant either, and in his prime today, Lebron clearly looks to be the best player since Jordan. I doubt Kobe can score like he does while shooting respectable field goal percentage... Whereas Lebron has shot 49% percent from the field and scored 27 ppg for a career... not to mention averaging 7 rebounds and 7 assists for his career... as well as shooting a ridiculous 60 percent from the field this year... Anyways, there are some things that Lebron has done since the beginning that Kobe cant do... ever. Btw, I did have something better to say but I decided to correct a pretty stupid mistake before I said it
lookin at kobe over the years he transitions from a finisher down the lane to more of a face up shooter but he probably is the most consistent CLUTCH player over the deacade!
I'm sorry but if you give Kobe from 2003-2007 Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and Ray Allen instead of fucking Luke Walton, Smush Parker, and Kwame Brown....Kobe's sitting on 7 championships by now with 4 finals MVP's
+TheRealMVP uhhhhhh lebron had shaq for a year moron, didn't do shit for him. I'd rather have an entire lineup of Allstars than a top 2 center of all time and shitty rest of the lineup
Watching this video you can tell that Kobe's shot selection this season isn't terrible. He just isn't making em'. Which really sucks because this video just shows how clutch and spectacular his game was.
Yeah.. SO kids i'm 25 yrs old kob is awesomely good forever... his The real king. nba is unveliable lov you, your the one [only] real alpha dawg ! i enjoy this congrats for bing the best forever. The haters could right off him & he still goin to shine. Dont' play with my intelengence me,.. or for a fictonal fat with no competion I'm ... !KoBe BryaNT! 1.
Some of these shots look lucky but that's the amazing thing. Isn't never luck with Kobe all skill. He just leaves you thinking what else more could I have done to stop this guy. The answer is you can't
Im not going to lie, I'm the biggest LeBron James fan I know but at this time Kobe Bryant was the best player. LeBron has been the best since 2009 but he never did the things that Kobe could.
coopaing Stooop. Kobe wasn't that good his reign was from 2003-2009. He was still top 3 but Lebron had him beat. Kobe has and had something that LeBron doesn't have, but they are different.
sonofaballer96 I say Kobe's reign stopped in 2010, considering he was still winning championships. I don't like the Kobe and LeBron comparisons, they are two completely diff types of players, its like comparing Steve Nash to Tim Duncan.
Should've been MVP this year. If only he would've gotten past the Suns in the first round he'd have gotten it. I know that the MVP is supposed to be regular season only, but they don't award it until after the first round, and the voters definitely factor that into their voting even if they're not supposed to.
LeBron has about 4 game winning shots and Kobe has 28. Both have missed way more than they ever won. The difference is that Kobe took tougher shots and had a tougher mentality.
LeBron has more game winning shots than 4 but he is still in his prime. He is my favorite player and was even on the Cavs. We cannot truly say he was the best ever until his career is over but if he died today he would be considered on of the 50 greatest. He's one of the g.o.a.t.s no doubt.
lebron never had to work hard from the bottom to the top. lebron never came off the bench and worked his game to be a superstar. all lebron has is one of a kind god given unstoppable physique. kobe honed all of his skills and has the best footwork and fundamentals in the game of basketball
In my opinion this version of Kobe Bryant is when he was at his best. This is the Kobe I would have liked to see over a young MJ.
+Rick Wilson Kobe shouldve won 2006 MVP
Which MJ though? There's so many years when MJ was a boss on all levels based on his stats.
KlllrJay Lol most all time.. I beleive something like 40
2003
03 was his absolute peak.
Kobe was easily the best player that season... and for the next three
SuperKicks nigga from 2000-2012 skill for skill he was the best basketball player on both ends of the floor
@@JPK169 shaq was 2000 n 2001 but Kobe was da sec best at that time but 2002 Kobe became the best player until 2012
+SuperKicks I agree after the 2009 Finals I would say Lebron became the best player in the league.
@@JPK169 Jericho Kobe was the best from 2002-2009. 2010 he still won the finals but he was beginning to decline.
@@JPK169 imo 2001-2013
I know the NBA like to award someone on a winning team...but when a player is playing out of his mind like Kobe did you gotta give them the MVP.
Even though the Lakers struggled a bit back in this season I loved it, watching a whole team gear up to stop Kobe but he still goes off was amazing.
100.
Sorry ass Steve Nash was winning back to back MVP's at the time & Kobe was head & shoulders better.
+ceeohqb18 what do you mean 100.?
This was Kobe's best ever season in terms of filling up the stat sheet in the scoring department - 35.4 PPG!!
Give him Pau that season, and they probably go all they way to the nba finals. That's how insanely unstoppable he was that year.
+Fahiem Ahmadi why odom tho?
Sam Well Odom was a beast that year, that was Odoms prime too but I was just trying to state what the overall lineup looked like.
+Fahiem Ahmadi well the following two seasons, they andrew bynum , and traded most of their scrubs to get pau gasol and they won two champs
JasonTHE Kiddd Yeah true, just sucks that he wasted three of his best seasons in his absolute prime.
Yea if Kobe had a guard that can score like kyrie or klay it's over the Kobe and Jordan debate cause he gone drop 40 and that other guard 20plus
Buzzer beaters aren't everything. Reason why I say this is because a lot of Kobe's game winners were not at the buzzer, but in late game situations that changed the whole outcome of the game.
Majority of them are impossible shots nobidy ekse in NBA history could make
nobody else would take*
ill give kobe that... there were some shots in late playoff games (like against the magic for example) where he would make fadeaway with 2-3 defenders in his face and you just sit back and say "holy shit!"
This doesn't do the justice, 06 kobe is arguably the greatest player that ever played. It's certainly one of the greatest individual seasons by any player
27 40+ point games, 81 points, 62 in 3 quarters, 2832 season points (Lakers franchise record). What a monster season that was.
Put that in perspective, the man scored 81 fucking points by himself!
And he wasn't MVP that year..
TheKingcem95 just shows that the mvp award is a popularity contest and therefore invalid in terms of who actually was the best player that year
Eliezer Machuca with more talent, the most valuable player is the last person a team could afford to lose. Kobe had that team in a respectable area of the west, without him and they'd be dogshit
Josh Schmidt the mvp award goes to the most valuable player, and that usually means that the player brought his team to one of the best records in the league

I swear I love it when he does the fist of victory after hitting a clutch shot!
LEGEND
why didnt kobe become the MVP this season the next one and the season of 2003???was steve nash really better???what a joke?
He wasn't better. Kobe got robbed. That sucks
The rape incident that's why Kobe was rob the league don't want that
+Byakuya Kuchiki I know its bull shit but mvp are opinions rings and his game are fact!
Cedar Rapids Exactly ;)
Joel Villarreal i still dont think nash was the better player
I don't think people ever talk about how incredibly difficult that shot to tie the game vs the suns was. Bean's shot making ability is definitely the best I've ever seen
REST IN PEACE 😥😭💛💜
IMO The 2005-06 NBA Season was probably the most exciting in the 2000 era
That number three play was incredible with a few seconds left tough defense save the ball from going out of bounds hustle back down the court make the time layup he was absolutely incredible
Kobe always did my mavs dirty. Rip Kobe still can't believe you're gone.
Bro this instrumental watching Kobe gives me chills!!!!!!!
Kobe the goat when its said and done, has no weakness in his game, boutta b 18th season cumin up still lookin like the best from wat I seen before he got injured
His best season ever.
it was a time when I literally hated kobe bcus it seem like he never missed every time he played against my favorite player and would always take and make these highly contested shots
Guy is simply the GOAT.. Greatest of All Time
It’s still surreal how you’re not here anymore😞
Its sad man
Idk how tf he took those bums Kwame and Smush to the playoffs, if Kobe was in his prime right now the Lakers would be competing for a championship.
Though I'm not a Kobe or Laker fan, what you said is absolutely true.100%
Facts
There's no way he'd beat San Antonio or Golden State, I'm sorry but he just can't. The thunder already beat the breaks off of LA and San Antonio is probably better than ever and Kobe got spanked by them multiple times in his prime. +sonofaballer96 Kobe not Durant Kobe an icon nigga he literally can drop 60 on any team if he wanted too
***** the 2014 Spurs was really their best squad. Watch bballbreakdown evolution of the Spurs offense. Idk what I was on though. Kobe went off against the Spurs countless times.
His jumpshots are amazing
ive been watching since 1996 and i swear i cant handle this greatness
Man I earned 2 things.
1- Kobe wore long ass socks
2- He did not like Steve Nash
r.i.p kobe & gigi
Kobe at that time with a good team around him would have been great.
man the lakers fucked up not putting a good team together during his prime
This is the Peak of his prime.. Lebron is not better than this no way.. he cant do these things man i sware
Agreed! Different styles and different positions. I mean Blake is also a great player, but you dont expect him to make those game winning buzzer beaters
One thing Lebron can do is spell "swear" better than you, and he didn't go to college...
+bballislife7158 what difference it make? its ok u just didn't have nothing better to say....im still in h.s anyway i doubt ima receive a grade for this youtube comment

The best scoring season in Kobe's career, he put up crazy numbers dropping over 35 points a game.
ayo you CANNOT deny this greatness no way! believe what you see with your eyes.. TOP 3 NBA ever
Never forget watching you this season i was in 5th grade didn't understand your greatness like i do now #LegendsLiveOn #MAMBADAY
Yes but if you gave LeBron fucking SHAQ then he would be sitting on 7 championships as well. Think moron.
+TheRealMVP not true at all.
+TheRealMVP uhhhhhh lebron had shaq for a year moron, didn't do shit for him. I'd rather have an entire lineup of Allstars than a top 2 center of all time and shitty rest of the lineup
+TheRealMVP And plus, when Kobe had Shaq he was barely hitting his prime
+DoctorO rangewood and he was still putting up sick numbers
Number 7 was the first time I witnessed Kobe Bryant and the Lakers ever in my life.
I quickly became an avid loyal fan after that.
I'm 15.
1:16 is how u shoot the ball legendary jumper one of the greatest sg ever
That was 06? Damn, I remember all of these plays like it was yesterday. Jeez, I'm getting old :D
Kobe and a stacked team would three-peat on this time.
Man, crossover on Vince and then the fade away all over wade,, ohhh there goes that man, best belive
Should’ve won MVP
Since this is Kobe's last year, 2k17 must have 06 lakers and '10 lakers
+Noel Mu-12 greatly agree.. would be so awesome
And the 04' lakers
I'd love to see that have 2010 lakers 06 lakers and 02 or 01 Lakers
most first team selections (11) and first defensive selections (9) of all time. Goat.
R.i.p sir
I really don't like Kobe, but I can't help but admire his play, he really is an all time great
as a big kobe fan know lebron is better then kobe but KD bits both right know he is the greatst player in the NBA
This season is the best player season in all of NBA history , more then Kobe Bryant there is no one
When lebron ties Kobe's all time scoring record I'll give him the torch.
The God of Game-Winning shots
R.i.p Mamba
Watching this video you can tell that Kobe's shot selection this season isn't terrible. He just isn't making em'. Which really sucks because this video just shows how clutch and spectacular his game was.
Not a Kobe fan, but you can't deny that he was a monster
I wouldn't say that, but i sure do like seeing Kobe in his prime, showing his athleticism that we don't see as often today
Yeah.. SO kids i'm 25 yrs old kob is awesomely good forever... his The real king. nba is unveliable lov you, your the one [only] real alpha dawg ! i enjoy this congrats for bing the best forever. 1:59 There's your mvp steve nash, nba...
oh and 2:17 too lol
JevirtS gonna happen to Westbrook this year
Steve Nash iced that series though.
Some of these shots look lucky but that's the amazing thing. Isn't never luck with Kobe all skill. He just leaves you thinking what else more could I have done to stop this guy. The answer is you can't
Rest In Peace Legend :(
This Kobe was so athletic
Awesome player. He never seems to not be in control. Even we he goes nut
It seems like that game against the suns is a must watch
Most exciting season of Kobe! The only bummer is that they lost against the Suns in the playoffs leading 3-1.
Im not going to lie, I'm the biggest LeBron James fan I know but at this time Kobe Bryant was the best player. LeBron has been the best since 2009 but he never did the things that Kobe could.
Lebron has been the best since 2012. Kobe was the best from 2000ish to 2011 included !
coopaing Stooop. Kobe wasn't that good his reign was from 2003-2009. He was still top 3 but Lebron had him beat. Kobe has and had something that LeBron doesn't have, but they are different.

Kobe never had a stacked team in his prime, playing in a weak conference. Otherwise he would've had nicer stats and a ring or two more.
***** I definitely saw it and it was probably the worst Laker season in a very long time.
the League owes kobe the MVP of that season
Excellent
Imo this is the greatest NBA season ever by an individual player…Bro averaged 40 for an entire month and dropped 81 on Toronto
MJ AND KB ARE RHE GREATEST TO EVER PLAY THE GAME
Should've been MVP this year. If only he would've gotten past the Suns in the first round he'd have gotten it. I know that the MVP is supposed to be regular season only, but they don't award it until after the first round, and the voters definitely factor that into their voting even if they're not supposed to.
the analysts vote at the end of the reg season and then the results are made public on the first week of may
If anything SHAQ should of won MVP..
Its a miracle the lakers made the playoffs with that line up but then again there was kobe
i like all ten of them back when Kobe was at his best
Best Ball Player of All time, and favorite
2:45 look in the background: It's Fred Durst!;D
Kobe is the best player in the nba
Kobe Bryant best season for of his career by far
Jericho 02-03 kobe was filthy
already tearing, havent even retired yet :(
He is so clutch
& steve nash got the mvp award that season , ain't that a b*tch !
No it's just the best player in the best team wins the mvp not the best in the world
Tupac Shakur Steve was good but kobe was on another level!!! Kobe- GOAT at least for me- I never saw MJ play in Chicago, Kobe is just amazing
Real talk Kobe went ham this year
Kobe is the best.
Goosebumps all over me right now
Miss him so much
kobe started the leg warmer trend this season.....
i love that layups
crazy 05-06 season..
This is sick
Kobe rules!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone knoes the song playing throughout the video?
ikr I wanna know it too it's dope
really hard thinking about any other player who could reach that performance year after year after watching his incredible shots.
I'm hearing "What a shot" in every Kobe video
Simply beast
LeBron has about 4 game winning shots and Kobe has 28. Both have missed way more than they ever won. The difference is that Kobe took tougher shots and had a tougher mentality.

half the highlights in the 4th quarter and beyond.wow...
lebron never had to work hard from the bottom to the top. lebron never came off the bench and worked his game to be a superstar. all lebron has is one of a kind god given unstoppable physique. kobe honed all of his skills and has the best footwork and fundamentals in the game of basketball
Every time I think ,this kobe best yr,he get's better tha next yr.#smfh
Best player in the word even now at age 35
When kobe is great. those times
Best kobe`s season
just imagine if this kobe had a respectable team around him, DAMN
