    Welcome to Karen Norwood Travel.
I have a fun new travel channel called Karen Norwood Travel. Go check it out if you want to see some simple, low budget, camping and other travel adventures.
I also have a great channel Chatting with Chops that teaches how to make vegan recipes, baking for two and / or low calorie bakes.
While we were visiting Florence Marina State Park we stumbled onto Historic Westville. Here is what the website had to say:
Historic Westville is a living history museum that provides a firsthand experience of what life would have been like in the 19th Century. This is accomplished by maintaining an authentic village environment, collecting, and preserving artifacts, demonstrating traditional work skills, workshops, and special events. You will meet and interact with interpreters dressed in period clothing who represent the culture and traditions of those that occupied this region, as well as a variety of authentic trade-based shops, homesites, and historic churches. As a visitor, your experience is fully self-guided, which allows you to spend more time in the areas you enjoy the most.
Hope you enjoy this little postcard size video of great little spot to spend some time.

Yeah, it was awesome when it was in lumpkin. You got to see people doing all of the jobs, amazing scratch biscuits and butter churned on site. I was really hopeful when westville was moved to columbus, but its been disappointing. I'm shocked they moved westville and promptly cut out the interactions people visit to dee

Museum is closed due to COVID-19. Grand Opening October 20, 2018! What is the South? As you walk the streets of Historic Westville you will begin to understand it is more than a region, a culture and a lifestyle. Through the stories of the people who lived and worked in our buildings, you will gain a new understanding of the diversity of the southern experience, and learn how people's lives intersected to create this complex and captivating place we call the South. Helping us present an authentic and immersive experience, we have a collection of 30 pre-Civil War historic structures, the largest assemblage of handmade Georgia furniture anywhere, and more than 5,000 objects from the lives of Georgians.
