Let me get this straight...mark the hole locations WHILE contorting yourself to clear the windshield? For a part you're about to remove and could mock up and drill much easier on your workbench...

      Adam Miller go on..... 😂

Adam, the holes on the back of the bracket are oblong so it's recommended by BuiltRight that the bracket is partially mounted in the vehicle to ensure proper alignment when you mark the new holes to be drilled. Now if you have to "contort" your body to simply lean forward and put your hands on the dash then the problem isn't with the product lol. In my experience this was still a very easy install and I think BuiltRight made a nice product.

What kind of metal is it made of? Can I use magnetic accessories on it?

I found the screw holes in the product don’t quite line up with the oblong holes and that makes it a bit awkward to utilize the Allen wrench. Secondly, the corse screws provided to attach the product to my dash were halfway effective. Back right screwed in, but back left didn’t fit the hardware in my 2014 XLT, so the unit is basically mounted with one screw to my dash.

Running into the same issue. It's the hardware underneath the tray that won't allow the screws to properly fit. Mine is an FX4.

This is Mob Armor's tablet mount that we had on hand. Their mounts are extremely sturdy and they've got some other sizes for phones and such. www.stage3motorsports.com/TABN-PRO-Mob-Armor-TabNetic-Tablet-Mount-w-Pro-Base.html
