Today was our first day of school. My Kindergartner has already been doing MWC and both of us have loved it. I decided to switch our 2 boys (2nd and 3rd grade) into it this year and they both loved their lessons today. Excited to see what the Lord does with our year.
I've purchased this already but it will be quite a while before we get to this level, haha! Nice to hear your thoughts as you're getting started! I think getting to have 3 pgs. in the workbook seems like a good fit for 3rd grade level.
We have been doing Kinder with my two youngest, and it has been a hit! Definitely 3rd grade is a big year for math. My 3rd grader decided she wanted to be more independent than MWC, but I am a bit sad she didn't want to try it! She has ended up with Math Mammoth, and so far so good, but it's early days here.
I prefer the idea of units to weeks!!! I feel review is needed as if it’s not needed it can be skipped!!!3 pages isn’t a lot for the age!!! I love the idea of the games!!!
It’s really not bad because the whole first page you are teaching from. So they really only do 2 pages on their own. The front is the new material and the back is review, basically.
I wen through and picked out the units that we needed to work on, so it wasn't necessarily in order, if that makes sense. I would suggest doing the same. :)
Hi C! I’ve purchased the grade 2 MWC for my daughter. Do we need to purchase manipulatives for this level? If yes, can you give an idea of what you use . TIA
You will need some manipulatives. There should be info on all that on their website. I think you can use the printables in the appendix in place of all the manipulatives if you need to.
We are just starting out with an official math curriculum for my daughter who is nearly 5. Would you recommend The Good and The Beautiful Math K or Math with Confidence level K?
The Old Good & Beautiful Math was really lovely and we enjoyed it, but I still think that MWC is better at keeping things simple and giving a deep understanding of topics.

Yay! Happy to hear about successes. :)

Yes, we're only 6 lessons in but so far it feels like a natural flow.
We are loving Math With Confidence First Grade! My child sat and did games for two hours one day 😅
My kids LOVE the games!
You could always do Math facts that stick multiplication then the and division one to help get you closer to the release of their level four
We'll likely be finished with grade 3 right when grade 4 comes out, so it should all work out in the end. :)

I've heard great things about Math Mammoth!

How far in 2nd grade mwc did you get before you jumped to level 3? We are also playing catch up from switching to mwc from tgatb. Thank you!!!!

Math With Confidence. :)
Is there a manipulatives set with the math with confidence program from k to 3? Or does it list supplies needed?
I think you can buy a kit from Rainbow Resource but there is a list and it’s very easy to put together.
How would you compare the old good and beautiful math to MWC?

@@ThisHomeschoolHouse thank you so much! I really appreciate your input 😊
