Skating in Ottawa, Ontario.

The Rideau Canal.....Worlds longest skating rink! The 7.8 kilometers skateway winds through Ottawa from downtown to Dows lake. The skating surface is larger than 140 NHL rinks.
Depending on the weather, the canal could be open for long period of time. Unfortunately because of warmer weather, the canal sometimes isn't open every year. Some years, the canal is open for a couple months or there are years where the canal is only open for a couple weeks. Best thing before travelling to Ottawa is checking out the weather forecast. Definitely skating on the canal is something you need when you come to Ottawa in the winter.
