      Ah, but I think the point was the presenter said "only species in only one freshwater lake". Check wiki, doesn't seem a bit accurate-too bad. So even in Finnish version-I guess Finnish norppa are even close relatives/can reproduce with this video's mention.
      As usual, take all of these with grain of salt, I've found so many mistakes I don't bother correcting them in these videos.

      @@tonikotinurmi9012 You are correct.There are so many inaccuracies that one can't take these videos too seriously.It's comical when they say that an animals relatives don't ever do what unusual thing it does.If you know about the animals relatives,you know that it is common for them to do exactly what "they don't do".What is so strange about a Parrot eating insects,mice and picking at bones, particularly for the calcium.If the bones have a bit of meat on them,why wouldn't a parrot eat a bit of meat while chewing the bones
      for calcium?After that,why wouldn't they perhaps seek out Carrion? Nothing strange about a Parrot hunting or acting like Vulture.Only strange to the presenter.

    The ”Spider-Mite” common to North America is part of the arachnid family, and also feeds on plants. Mainly the different types of grass. It’s a rather bizarre little spider that typically grows to the size of a pin head. It has a type of snout that more resembles a mosquito, and is used in the same fashion-to get dinner.

      Andy Mitkos yes sir. I'm from Southern Illinois. Approximately 60 miles from stlouis Missouri. Where I grew up was a river called the big Muddy river. It has several runoffs that go into a huge man made lake called rend lake. I lived maybe a mile from rend lake. The Mississippi River has several runoffs that go into the big Muddy. I firmly believe that bull sharks are in rend lake. I quit letting my children swim in it years ago after I saw a doc on snake head fish. Everyone told me I was crazy. It was not possible for snake head fish to be in rend lake. 2-3 years after I quit letting my children swim there my brother caught a 5ft snake head fish in the lake. Now I live in the Tennessee Alabama state line off the Elk River. I firmly believe we have alligators in our river here. Again I'm getting laughed at because they say none have ever been caught in Tennessee but several years ago a little boy was attacked in Kentucky swimming in the Ohio River. Authorities claimed it had to been a pet released. I strongly disagree. With all the weather changes in the past several hundred years I believe that alot of creatures have evolved with it. Therefore I believe that alligators can handle colder weather than we thought and bullsharks can more than likely survive longer than the 5 years originally thought in fresh water. It's common sense to me. Even armadillos. Living in Tennessee I see them everywhere. In Illinois I never 1 time saw one. But now they are being found all over Illinois.

    6:33 ...don't break those spinal protrusions. They don't look all that important until you've fractured a few... Trust me, it sucks. You quickly learn how hard it is to sit and stand upright when they are damaged. You can lift stuff and do lots of normal activities people usually associate with back injuries, but you can't sit up or stand for very long. The pain will slowly overtake you to the point you can't focus on anything else.
    It's interesting to me that this was referenced as the antelope's evolutionary advantage to enable it to stand upright. I guess that means the Jeep Cherokee and Mitsubishi Outlander that hit me de-evolved me... Damnit.

Some breeds of cats, yes, but even within the so-called water hating house cats, there are those who love water. If we're talking hard and fast species rules, a mammal who lays an egg when one of the criteria of being a mammal is live births and, this doesn't change at all between individuals, it weirder. And the plant is Puya chilensis.

    • @patrickscalia5088
      @patrickscalia5088 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The impression that "cats" dislike water is only true for the only cat humans have a long history with, the African wildcat, from which most or all modern cat species are developed. It's an arid-land cat and rarely encounters bodies of water big enough to immerse itself in, and like most such bodies of water in Africa is probably full of crocodiles, so yeah they instinctively avoid water. As there's no reason for them to ever immerse themselves, it makes sense that they would never develop such habits. Other dry-land cats that usually avoid water are the Pallas cat, the snow leopard, the cheetah, and the lion. The leopard, having the widest geographical distribution of any cat, has some arid land species that never see water deep enough to swim in, and tropical subspecies that will go into water to kill crocs, caimans, big fish, etc. If there's a prey animal that weighs over 30 pounds in its territory anywhere, the leopard has a strategy to kill it, even if it's in the water. Jaguars, which are either the ancient precursors or descendants of the leopard (depending on which scientist you talk to) regularly hunt in the water for animals as powerful as anaconda and crocodiles.
      Another thing the fishing cat is known for is being especially powerful, tough, and belligerent. There's at least one recorded incident at a zoo of one climbing an "unclimbable" barrier to settle a beef with a leopard in the next enclosure. The fishing cat killed(!) the leopard, which was literally three to four times its size. Leopards are not known for being easy to kill.
