Yes it doesn't come as shown in any of the videos. Roti doesn't spread out when you press and if you press too much the rotis break and tear and don't puff
Dough should be softer than regularly we make, i also made same mistake but my friend told me to make soft dough, it was the time when you tube was not so famous but roti maker was already in the market
I had the misfortune of making flat dosa like chapathi a few months ago,where my children made fun of me. Then after seeing more youtube videos, I found out the secret, I.e the roti flour should be loosely mixed, that us it should stick to your fingers, and secondly, the roti maker should be kept ready.Only after clising the top portion, you will get the balloon roti, not otherwise.Nuce vudeo and explanation, keep it up shymali!

Watch carefully...when the dough is placed inside and pressed, they cut the video (edited) and open to show as if it's spread is uniform almost to the pan size. When you do it yourself you will know that it's not true. Don't waste money without you yourself trying it. Suggestion: buy online with the return policy of full refund in case.

IF someone invented a proper rotimaker they would make a fortune . There is a product advertised called Rotimatic but it's a big con as it does NOT exist. I believe that they take people's details to sell on to marketing companies and other companies . Anyway, if someone invented a rotimaker, I and millions of others would buy it. Can I use it without heating. Just for making gol roti and lateron I want to do rest process on gas stove. Can it be use only to make gol roti without preheat.
I have purchased Bajaja Vacco rotimaker. The company claims that it is very easy to make chappatis .I followed exactly the same procedure as shown in the video. It is really disheartening to find rotis become hard and difficult to chew. Hence I called the Bajaj to arrange for demo but he denied. I am highly unsatisfied with the product.

Yeah, you can use food processor to make dough. I use it and it works perfectly
You mean the Rotimatic , you can get it at Hebbar's kitchen.
And those machines are like $1,000 which many people cant afford (at least I can't!)

For someone like me roti maker machine is a good thing because I go to class at 6 am and aftert that goes to office at 11am and comes home near by 9pm and I have to study after coming home so for a person like me it saves lots of time
