You said it, she really dropped the loudest song of the decade (so far) 😭 I can't see myself listening to this song casually, like in a playlist. This song demands attention!
Glad she dropped the vanilla dance pop of Chromatica to something way more industrial, Tim Burton like.... I'm sure the Wednesday/Bloody Mary tiktok trend was the vision board. It's insanely good.
This is SO different from Stupid love, not safe at all but this must be the safest option from the album imagine how experimental the album tracks are?
I think the lyrics are definitely up for interpretation. But with a lot of the imagery she lays out it’s my personal head canon that she’s talking about the obsession of fans wanting more and more and she’s the only one that can cure us. It’s been almost 5 years since the last single release, so the obsession becomes like a disease for that new stuff to come. It’s kind of tongue in cheek if you ask me. Love it.
The Joker movie is NOT bad at all, literally all those negative reviews seem so exaggerated to me idk. I enjoyed it and think Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix did an amazing job!
some people said that this movie was advised and introduced in a pretty different way than what the movie actually is so that is why people got shocked and didn't like it 'cause they thought they're gonna see another type of thing. i haven't watched it tho so idk
Reminds me of “There Will Be Blood” of Kim Petras. There’s definitely some influences of her early work, especially The Fame Monster era. Her best first single since Applause.
I like the elements of Industrial music and that heaviness influence from Metal. I got into this track instantly. It comes to life and vocally catchy. Nice to see Lady Gaga bringing some Alternative music into the spotlight. Pop has run to the point, it needs Pop artists to gain some influence from non-commercial music to progress. There seems to be a nice rise of alternative Pop, whether they use Electronica, Metal or both. I am impressed with the rise of Poppy, Spiritbox, Maggie Lindemann, LØLØ, etc with Lady Gaga using her popularity to lead the way.
Everyone keeps saying this song is like Gaga’s older music but I kinda disagree this sounds like a new sound for Gaga. It’s reminds of Miley Cyrus plastic hearts and nine inch nails I absolutely love it!
So glad you were honest about your personal wishes for the song instead of praising it blindly! I personally love the song and it's exactly what I wanted from her new sound, but it's definitely heavy and not as lyrically complex as something like Happy Mistake. That's why I'm so surprised this was the first single, it really isn't as safe as her singles usually are (eg. Stupid Love). And you weren't hating on it or blasting it, just providing your true first thoughts, great reaction!
This song just brought feelings I haven't felt in about 15 years... the last song who provided me the same kind was... Bad Romance. I'm just so happy! She just released a crazy banger!!
Disease is the love child of Bad Romance, Alejandro, Monster, Dance In The Dark, Bloody Mary, Judas, G.U.Y and The Cure. Honestly, when it comes to Halloween anthems, Lady Gaga always delivers and she is doin' it again with Disease. Long live Mother Monster.
It took me a few listens, not that I didn’t love it. But it took me a bit to realize like dark sounding Gaga was back. Now I feel like I’m in 09’ again
I looove this song, and particularly because it sounds like a sibling to artpop or The Fame Monster in a way. The 2010s revival is happening in many areas rn and sometimes it feels like it's too forced, but this kind of has a perfect combination of the Gaga we all know and love mixed with new sounds and new vibes so it still feels fresh.
