Old comment but I’ll explain anyway: burst is a defensive mechanic in some fighting games that allow you to break out of a combo. However people bursting can be a lot more predictable than you think so more experienced players will simply start a combo but not follow up with another hit. If the opponent bursts, it leaves them in a vulnerable position and the player can then hit them for a big damage combo.

Said it once and I will say it again. Never stop uploading ultimax videos, btw I have seen you don't like bbtag any specific reasons? Personally I do find it kinda fun but the way they did some characters really throws me off.
@@Milpy what are you referring to by system mechanics? (i mean, other then autocombullshit) are you also referring to the cross gauge stuff? personally, i also really dislike how the cross combo mode is handled, but like the tag mechanics otherwise. just wish more assists had more peersonality.
The moral of the video is: Never Burst when Shadow Labrys has you in a corner, just put down the controller and leave the room - You're fucked whatever you do.

Only Shab! And it's Japan exclusive, it's from an old issue of Famitsu. Can't remember the name but it's at the end of the video. I'll add it to the description as well once I'm back home.
One has a Persona and is good. The other doesn't and isn't. Really though. Some different moves and different properties on a few of the moves they share. Sho can't do his good/optimal combos on pretty much the entire cast (and no one crouching) he has some cheap stuff though. You're better off playing Minazuki even though Sho is more fun.
Boss mode is an unlockable variant for characters. It makes them more powerful and buffs certian moves. Like Kanji, his sweep travels a lot further and wall bounces people.
Boss Mode is broken versions of characters. Like, Liz for example has 3 air dashes and 3 jumps, she has like 40K HP and moves extremely fast. Her Hama/Mudo go off almost instantly and her IK triggers off of one hit. Her heal also heals her back to full (40K) HP extremely quickly. Boss Kanji has a projectile invuln sweep that goes fullscreen. Stuff like that. It's great,
@@Milpy Excuse me what. Kanji gets projectile invul on his sweep? And Elizabeth gets instant IK setups? Oh. At least it isn't Unlimited I-Frame Celica back in BBCPEX. Actually... not sure if Elizabeth/Margaret boss modes are as bad as Unlimited Celica.
If they make a Persona 5 Arena. I want it to be a better fighting game. Throw everything away and just start over. Remove Awakening and just start off with full health. Maybe with a larger health bar, combos would have more purpose. Never mind the fact that some characters have no effort kill combos normal combo seems somewhat pointless when more of the damage come from raw supers. Someone may say this game is designed for either side to win no matter the skill level but I don't see that as a good thing
Dawg if you're getting hit by raw supers that's your own fault. Random raw supers become less and less of a thing the more you improve. Combos are important because most people aren't going to get hit by raw supers unless they forget to roll or block after they block a DP. Punishing something with a raw super vs punishing something with a Fatal combo makes a huge difference. Like, 3-4K from a super vs double or more depending on your character/what resources you have available.

OK can someone explain the differences between Sho and Minazuki besides the obvious one?
One has a Persona and is good.
The other doesn't and isn't.
Really though. Some different moves and different properties on a few of the moves they share. Sho can't do his good/optimal combos on pretty much the entire cast (and no one crouching) he has some cheap stuff though. You're better off playing Minazuki even though Sho is more fun.

What exactly is boss mode? What does it actually do?
Boss mode is an unlockable variant for characters. It makes them more powerful and buffs certian moves. Like Kanji, his sweep travels a lot further and wall bounces people.
you can select a boss verion of a character, and they get really big buffs.
Boss Mode is broken versions of characters. Like, Liz for example has 3 air dashes and 3 jumps, she has like 40K HP and moves extremely fast. Her Hama/Mudo go off almost instantly and her IK triggers off of one hit. Her heal also heals her back to full (40K) HP extremely quickly.
Boss Kanji has a projectile invuln sweep that goes fullscreen. Stuff like that. It's great,

If they make a Persona 5 Arena. I want it to be a better fighting game. Throw everything away and just start over.
Remove Awakening and just start off with full health. Maybe with a larger health bar, combos would have more purpose. Never mind the fact that some characters have no effort kill combos normal combo seems somewhat pointless when more of the damage come from raw supers. Someone may say this game is designed for either side to win no matter the skill level but I don't see that as a good thing
Dawg if you're getting hit by raw supers that's your own fault. Random raw supers become less and less of a thing the more you improve. Combos are important because most people aren't going to get hit by raw supers unless they forget to roll or block after they block a DP. Punishing something with a raw super vs punishing something with a Fatal combo makes a huge difference. Like, 3-4K from a super vs double or more depending on your character/what resources you have available.
