Terence Crawford, the former undisputed welterweight champion, is set to make his debut at 154 pounds against Israil Madrimov on August 3rd. The fight will take place in Los Angeles and will be for the WBO interim junior middleweight title. Crawford is a heavy favorite in the fight, but Madrimov is a talented young fighter who is looking to make a name for himself.

This is a good fight. Crawford and Madrimov both have destructive power that could give each other problems. It all boils down to if The American carries his power to 154 and if Madrimov can take Crawford's shots. If he can then Crawford will have to outhustle Madrimov in a contest of attrition. In which case The Uzbek could possibly score an upset in the later rounds. I still see Crawford coming out on top but it won't be an easy win if he does.

I've seen Israil fight, he's good, but he is not what these promoters are making him out to be. The only reason people will pay to see the event, it to watch Vergil go against a top fighter, eliminate that fight and the event will surely fall flat on its face. This is clearly a set up to make Bud a champion at 154. I'm not wasting my cash.
After crowley if boots wins, i hope hearns is smart and has boots go for the remaining 154 belt. If hearns really wants boots to face bud, get in bud’s way. Use the undisputed title bud wants at 154. In division fighters ran from bud at 135 after getting unified, bud had to go to 140 to get undisputed, then the 147’s ran from bud and he had to wait 5 years to get undisputed there. Unnecessary wasted time with all the ducking allowed under the bs banner by the public and journalists justification of “it’s just the business of boxing”, as if that was acceptable behavior by promoters.
