- In this video, Billybob discusses a hot take that the mid ladder cards in Clash Royale should be more difficult to obtain early in the game. Mid ladder cards being overplayed has been an issue in Clash Royale since the game was created and has made some of these cards the most hated cards in the game. The wizard, witch, and mega knight are all known as mid ladder cards in Clash Royale because they are mostly played in that trophy range. Simply making these cards more difficult to obtain at lower arenas is not going to change the issue of cards being overplayed. The reason why these cards are overplayed in the lower arenas of Clash Royale is because they are very easy to use and have a high skill floor. Clash Royale cards like the hog rider, peeka, and executioner would just take their spots if he mega knight, witch and wizard would lose popularity. A real solution needs to be found, but this is not it. Hopefully, Clash Royale can figure this out so midladder players enjoy Clash Royale a little more.

Bro please make another video on the arena level restriction. They just done the opposite to fix the overleveled players, literally punishing underleveled players even more by not allowing them to progress
The arena level restriction is good in a way, but I think it should be readjusted. You should be allowed in the arena, but you don't get the trophy gate like the old days and your trophy gain is only 20% less per extra arena.

They should’ve made it so lower levels progress slightly slower and higher levels progress slightly faster if u aren’t in the right areana

If you are stuck in midladder, just switch to lumberloon control with e dragon, you end up hoping for witch wizard meganight and almost always win those matchups.
Bro 74% of my cards are only level 10 (including ones used in lumberloon 💀)

I think witch and wizard need a buff but they can’t get them because of mid ladder. This is a real shame because a viable witch and wizard would pretty much feel like new cards to people out of mid ladder.

The solution is very simple lock card level to tower level. Forcing people to upgrade most of there cards to get to the next tower level would make the game way more fair and fun for everyone. The only reason these cards are over used in mid ladder is because you get a lot of value over leveling them.

Honestly I think Mega knight itself is not the problem but the real problem is the overleveled Witch or Wizard behind it . That's why Lightning slams midladder so hard . For comparison a level 10 Lightning can completely obliterate a level 12 Witch and a maxed Wizard 🗿

Like Rn goblin hut is doing okay (12% on grand challenges) which isn’t too high for a cards use rates but it needs to be nerfed cause it’s a spawner and it’s super annoying
Tombstone is good because its cheap and its not annoying because it CANT get chip damage by itself
The other 2 spawners create units that either can get chip damage or can make a counter push with a tank while tombstone is just 2 skeletons at a time

I remember breezing through mid ladder once i got royal recruits and figured out a good split lane deck.

I feel like midladder is a training experience. People use decks that need specific counters and/or a fast cycle to deal with it. If your deck can't deal with midladder, it can't hack it in higher trophies
And once you get out of midladder, your deck you made for it will start to falter most likely as well
(since it's most likely a midladder deck in itself but you just tell yourself otherwise)
so you put the counters to the cards up there in your deck and you realize that CR is about making loads of decks and changing it up all the time with the metas or even just your mood

Mirror is alr good, it’s alright champ or no champ. Poison, EQ, drill, fish, piggies, E giant, pump, cannon cart are much more dangerous, in that order. It’s impossible to lose the endgame spell cycle war. Mirror drill is so god damn cheap. I’ve pulled off too many robberies w/ drill
Never used Infernodragon or Valkyrie. But managed to get past mid ladder with Prince and Dark Prince

Am I overleveled? I’m lvl14 with a lvl14 deck: Golem, Mini Pekka, Executioner, Minions, Goblin Gang, Inferno Tower, Fireball, Evo Zap, and I’m at 7400 trophies trying to get to 7500
Just cap all Card levels to Level 12 in Midladder. Problem solved.

This is the exact same issue with the shockfield in SAS 4. If you remove/nerf it, then hornet and hotspot will just take its place.
The meta is just different depending on where you are in the game laddar and leagues if you have problems with mega knight the easyest counters are mini pekka big pekka inferno dragon inferno tower
hot take: mirror is worth upgrading because every time something op comes out or something is buffed a lot you can have a high level of that and it happens decently often
Hot take they should remove megaknight like the heal spell and refund all coins and turn the cards they put in into wild cards

At 7500 trophies and just faced a MK, prince, wizard, LJ, Skarmy, posion, and exe... mid ladder menaces will always remain
Pekka bridge spam with poison, literally counters mega knight, witch, wizard, and most big tanks. It just struggles with fast hog cycle decks like hog 2.6.
Hot take: make wizard function like the other wiz, give him the signature superhero landing, nerf his damage so that he’s 4 elixir.

Man, I used to play this game a lot in 2017 and managed to get to legendary arena. It felt awesome! Now I came back and they added a bunch more arenas. I discovered that the amount of trophies I have is now considered "Mid ladder" and WHY THE HECK IS EVERYONE LEVEL 14??? (I'm at 5500 BTW)

HOT TAKE: spam decks, with cards like royal recruits, battle ram, royal ghost, bandit etc. (especially pekka bridge spam) should never work. The only thing these players do is just place them at the bridge and wait for triple elixir. Then its basicly impossible to stop the spam

What if they introduce pick and ban mechanics into the game? Like you take you ban a few cards you want to ban, and then each side take turns picking cards. This way decks wont exist, but people will be forced to kind of make new decks as they go along. (This will probably make a cool gamemode)

4 is better than mummy pekka.
5 if you’re in low elixer opponent can send a mini pekka and your tower is dead.
6 can counter any champion (not the s king) even if you use the ability.

I'm 7400, I see mega knight every other deck, hog over 3rd deck and half that time it's with the mega knight.
Problem: I cant get past mid ladder if my opponents play goblin barrel against my log , skarmy against my hog rider , valkyrie against my valkyrie, arrows against my fire cracker , building or mega knight/ mini + normal pekka against my hog and executioner vs my rocket and also sparky
When you pass midladder uh… i’ve just reached 7500 and i can confirm that there are only real decks but even at 7k the ladder is the same as 5k

I'm about 7000 trophies and inferno tower and goblin cage are insanely good to counter the mega knight inferno dragon can easily be counter by fireball knockback zap lightning snowball electro wizard electrospirit well you get it but inferno tower cannot be pushed has insane range and can melt the mega knight from far away and insanely fast that even if the zap resets it it will be able to still kill it and the gobling cage is good because it will bring it too the middle and absorb it jump damage while the mega knight gets chipped at by both towers and if you wanna insure it gets the kill put skeletons behind it to ensure the kill honorable mentions are mini Pekka the knight and the Pekka the mini Pekka and knight have a problem that if the mega knight get his pounce they will always lose the battle and the Pekka can counter him but rn Pekka is not good especially with all the spam rn and how absolutely slow it is and a 7 elixir card that is your only defense card is a sure way of losing its just too expensive too be a defense card but inferno tower and goblin cage are very good I would use either ice spirit skeletons or goblins to ensure that you get the kill
I'm at 5500 trophies, and all I see are e barbs, mega knight witch and wizard. I was in a battle, he balooned and e barbs first play, I defend with 6 elixir, and he somehow has enough elixir to mega knight wizard the opposite lane. This game has hone down the dumpster and is trash at this point

the problem is not the midladder cards they are really easy to defend as a midladder i player i just yesterdays started playing again for the first time in months and went up 600 throphies so its no problem to defend the annoying part is that they are so overleveled its insane what am i supposed to do when the entire enemy deck is lvl 14 and my stuff is lvl 12 and 13 i think i veen have a level 11 too im 5.5 k throphies now after the push yesterday

Clash Royale should be like rock paper scissors. Or a complex version like rock paper scissors lizard spock. Mostly chance on matchup and predicting what opponent will play. Hog cycle is like that one kid who used “gun” and complained when it didn’t work
