Toxic BLs are great cause humans and especially us gay men can be quite toxic to each other. so they are actually more real than some of the meh BLs

I know I crave the toxic BL for all those reasons and the fact that I saw every BL on your list (exept Friend Zone 2) and LOVED all of them but Sing In Love and More Than Words left a deep wound in my heart. I think to do toxic BL you have to be an amazing actor because their characters are so complex.

My first ever BL was A round trip to love or Uncontrolled Love 😂 I can't remember which one I watched first 😂 and even when I got back into Bls again It was those 2 that got me hyped up and interested in it after rewatching 🤣🤣 I also think Dead Friend Forever should be here as it is very toxic for multiple reasons. OMG, I have a love/hate relationship with Vee from Love Mechanics. There is a part of me that hates his guts, and a part of me that don't. I was and still am conflicted about Vee. That's how you know his character was well-written and executed.

It is well written and Ming is one of the most toxic characters I can remember. A complicated story so far. If the script follows the novel, My Stand In may be epic love story.

I watched like 14 of them, I can't find 2 and the other 2 are on my list. I love toxic and complicated love stories! The deepth of the human mind is scary and it is crazy how well some people can hide their dark nature. I'm glad that we are getting more diverse shows, like My Stand-In has me in its grip from the first 5 minutes. You can really feel the upcoming doom for Joe and I'm excited about their whole story!

I agree with the fact that I like watching toxic stories cause they show a side of human beings people often forgot to acknowledge, people criticize production team for making toxic love stories which really infuriate me, like bro if u don't want to watch a toxic story just go away and chill why do u have to force the production team to make a more likeable story if u can't handle it just go away don't watch it. But please let me have my toxic side story as I love seeing people's emotions in their vulnerable state, I like it as u mentioned in ur starting of videos due to those reasons.

I love toxic bl coz they show more deeper and more raw face of love and the hardships in relationships. Life is never a bed of roses but a path of full of sharp thrones and heart wrenching pain sometimes. Those who said that they should not make dark bl or toxic bls they often forget these facts that every great journey has ot fight their Battles, without it no one can be a legend , ignoring truth can't solve any problems we have to face tham. so in conclusion dark or toxic bls or drama in general is important and necessary for the check and balance in society but with a positive note and ending 👍❤

Unconctolled love, Round trip to love - still in my head sometimes, it is not very enjoyable overall, but it does it's job portraying a very toxic relationships. I mean phisically toxic too. Mainly chinese BL is oten very dramatic and can be overexaggerated, sometimes meaninglessly. These are old timers, when we didnt expect that much
Thai ones like Love mechanics, Together with me, Only friends - wasnt phisically toxic ones. They mostly have good character writting and interesting stories. Theory of love is very much my all time favourite.

I've seen almost all of them. I think 2 or 3 of the Japanese ones are the only ones I haven't watched because I couldn't find them anywhere but I'll definitely be looking now.
I think for me the Friend Zone is probably one of the most toxic Thai bls. It's so realistic which makes it more believable than others. The 4 Shorter Distance movies are so toxic but so good. Actually all of the Japanese movies are really good. The range in Japanese bls are extremes. They can be horribly toxic or really fluffy but almost always great to watch.
Make It Right is one of my favorites because of Ohm and Toey who played Frame and Book. They're actually one of my favorite couples. There story was the highlight of the series because I would get irritated watching Fuse run hot and cold with Tee. This is off the subject but it's one of my weird rainman moments but Yok' mom had an uncomfortable flirting with Wit who's played by Plan from Love By Chance 1&2. The actress that plays Yok's mom also plays Can's mom in the Love By Chance series.
I'm looking forward to seeing Sing In Love the most but never could find it.

So my first ever bl I've watched was Color Rush it was cute,actors were handsome and the plot was interesting, after I finished I wanted to try something more mature and someone recommended me Sing in love...I was like, the title sounded romantic I saw some pictures and instantly fell in love with Kai but the thing is I never read the synopsis bc I hate to be spoiled so image me after watching Color Rush watching Sing in love...I was shocked and that's probably an understatement but as you said once I've started I couldn't stop watching and I remember while watching I was screaming two words every 5 seconds at my screen why?and what?😂

I seen love theory / love mechanics / only friends / extremely toxic and dark not always are my choice but if you making toxic bl series list you should add kinnporche it was hot toxic mess all couples here were toxic/ love syndrome started from rape obssesion revenge all couples were messed up / big dragon relationship started toxic rape / if relationship in bl series start with rape that relationship is extremelly toxic and insane and if you meet red flags in real life you should run and cut all contact / you are worth much more than being samebodys punching bag/ toy / your feelings and your health matters more the treatment takes years to regain your self worth / sorry for long reply have nice day

I absolutely agree with you. Starting a story with rape or unwanted coercion itself is a red flag. Thai bl book writers from which almost all dramas are made seem pretty nonchalant about starting a love story with a rape.That's twisted and somehow popular which i have not understood.
I agree Kinn Porsche would fall into toxic bls if we consider a broad definition of toxic nature.

Love Uncontrolled love because has an alternative end; Together With Me (TWM) is a bit boring but... it's Max/Tul so, it's a must rewatch at least once a year.
If you never saw it I recomend start with this and go to Bad Romance (BR) and end with Together With Me - Next Chapter (TWMNC): that's how the story was told.
They filmed: BR then TWM and TWMNC.
Round trip to love... I'm still very angry with China censorship not letting us have the third and final part.

I've only seen three of these - Only Friends, Love Mechanics, and Theory of Love, so I guess my toxic-tolerance levels are pretty low. The rest of these don't really appeal to me. I guess if you have lived through a toxic relationship you don't need to see it on screen - my opinion only.

My stand in is another one with flawed character like Ming . Even if Ming loves Joe at the end his arrogant moodiness is not going to change and Joe will ‘ understand ‘ because he is in love and Ming shows him love now. Dynamics of flawed characters requires two to tango. So is the World we live in.
I actually have Theory of Love on a list of non-toxic BLs 🤣
My reasoning being that Kai is a big a-hole, yes, and we hate him for half of the series, but we are _supposed_ to hate him. His terrible and heartless behaviour is never portrayed as _romantic_ in any way. It's not supposed to feel exciting or heart-tingling. Third cries every day, and we cry with him. And when Kai eventually does have a change of heart, Third has given up, and Kai has one hell of a redemption journey. In the part of the story where the tables have turned and he pursues Third, he shows no toxic behaviour at all. So I guess my definition of "toxic BL" is where the toxic behaviours of the main couple are _romanticised_ or at least part of their romantic interaction (non-/dubcon, violence, jealousy, coercion, blackmail, dishonesty, manipulation, gaslighting etc). In this respect, TharnType is kind of toxic, and My Stand-in, which someone else mentioned, is super toxic, but ToL is not. Just my take on it, others may disagree and are welcome to!

More Than Words (#12 on your list) ended up making me so angry. I didn't start feeling that anger until the last episodes. The fact that Amazon would choose this anti-gay vehicle over all the other great BL's out there made me even angrier. I still want to bitch slap most of the main characters.
I can't believe that you left DFF out of your list. It is very tough to watch as you want to scream out at some of the characters for being so cruel and heartless (downright evil). If I had friends like these I would very happily become the school loner or a monk.

First thing first: now, I am feeling like a normal fujoshi, just cause you like some that I like too. Second thing: don't you like Addicted (2016)? Well, I did not see: Sing in love, Uncontrolled love, Military dog. I like: Shortest distance is round, Method, History 1 Obsessed (for me need a lot of courage to admit that I like this serie). More than Words (uow for me it was a masterpiece), Only Friends (good, nice). Make it right (do you know that person is a truly old BL fan (truly fujoshi) when that person talks about "Make it Right"). Love Mechanics and En of Love (is an always for me, I rewatch so many times!) And Yes: Theory of Love is a grest serie: love OffGun but I did not watched again yet. Like Mood Indigo just because I like more Pornographer (2018) {The Novelist}

Love mechanics & theory of love I wouldn’t identify them as toxic. Khai and Vee were flawed characters who found partners who loved them unconditionally even when they did stupid things.
I can’t think of Mood Indigo as toxic because Kijima was moody,depressed,needy and Kido came into his life. Kido was confused and conflicted about whether he was into men for longterm. I can’t see abuse there however Kido was selfish like Vee.Only friends was stupid,emotionally abusive and quite shallow without redemption arcs.Only friends was pointless drama which didn’t even entertain.
Most of the dramas about flawed characters and deeply disturbing storyline is triggering and not for everyone.
I wish there was a y novel/ series which is like the mv of monsters under bed

i dont think we need to justify why we like bad things in fiction. its fiction the entire point of fiction is to depict whatever u want without the tragedy of real harm happening to real ppl. if i ant my fave couples to beat eachother up who cares. i like redeption arcs but sometimes its satisfying to see a terrible person be terrible continually. no morbid curosity here i just know what i like in fiction and i knowthat it has no bearings on my real morals pertaining to real ppl

Im a fan of love mechanic, but there is something who make me very angry in the story:
The fact that Vee never realized the rape he committed on Mark. He seems to consider that Mark was consenting and that he just regretted having slept with him, when he was in no state to recognize him and took him for Bar. He's very traumatized by this, and it's all the more difficult for him to have to put up with Vee and her possessive behavior. Vee is truly unaware of his actions and immature.

I have a male friend who broke up with his girlfriend on the night before their wedding after years of dating because he could no longer lie to himself about his sexuality. I would say that toxic were his parent, relatives, coworkers, and “friends” who forced him into that marriage. Personally, I was never attracted to women (just like Korn), so it wasn’t a choice for me, but I totally get Knock. After his whole life being pretty comfortable, he had to accept himself being gay and agree to be discriminated against, hated, and even persecuted for no fault of his. It’s a tough choice to make.

Shortest distance 🫶, Double Mints✔️, Method was interesting and had a good scene in it, but on the whole it fell short for me (I may need to rewatch, it’s been awhile), omg…Military Dog✔️✔️✔️. As much as toxic behavior enrages me, it always fascinates me and engages my attention, so it's definitely my favorite BL subgenre because its keeps me on the edge of my seat 😅 *Round Trip to Love* was beyond twisted, it was like the writer took the premise of *We Best Love* and threw it in a toxic vat of chemicals like the Joker does to Harley Quinn 😳 *The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese* is equal parts heartwrenching and emotionally exhausting 😓 *Together With Me* is one of my favorite BLs thus far, however much I long to knock Knock upside the head with the largest stick I can find and swing😤 *Method* was a rollercoaster of emotion that left be equal parts oddly proud of the young kpop star and utterly terrified of his pysche😬 *Only Friends* is charming in its authentic flawed characters and the absolute dumpster fire they make of their personal lifes😏 *History Obsessed* is a whole checklist of what constitutes as a person being a walking 🚩, I spent the entire time watching it doing my best Whoopie Goldberg Ghost impression, "You in danger gurl!" 🫣 *In Your Heart* managed to trash every warm feeling I had the entire series with its last episode and promptly set it on fire, the borderline SA first time just pissed me off🤬 and lets not forget *Theory of Love* , which perfectly illustrates the gay age old motto "Never fall in love with straight boys!!", ESPECIALLY when said straight boy treat you like an indentured servant rather than a best friend to start with!!
