    Jeremy Corbyn is the only person there who answered the question honestly without going around the houses. I respect that.

      Team BombHead Yes, quite predictably. The country is crying out for politicians of honesty and integrity who don't blow back and forth with the prevailing wind and hide away from direct questions in the usual cowardly and disingenuous manner. Corbyn can win disillusioned voters to Labour, the others can't.

      CRUCIALLY as well, in the end Ed Miliband didn't want the job Jeremy Corbyn offered him - and it didn't bother anyone. The other three candidates didn't answer for fear if they were honest about what they wanted and then achieve it, it would be damaging. Corbyn was honest and paid no penalty on things not ending up that way. He trusted the public with his honesty, and the public rewarded that.

      ***** New generation of voter or is it media led?
      Consider that the media were heavy on the "Ed Miliband looks weird" angle rather than countering his policies. You can even go back to Gordon Brown and see that Jeremy Clarkson, mouthpiece of the right wing, called him a "One eyed Scottish idiot".
      If you're going to accuse this generation of being vacuous and image led, then you need to examine where that comes from.

      ***** It's not her voice it's her. Her politics is vile. I don't want a tory-lite candidate. So hush your mouth. I said nothing about how she looked. The woman is hot, her policies aren't so much.

    Labour needs a new generation of politicians indeed. One that can answer a simple fucking question.

    That is one of the many reasons Jeremy Corbyn has been so popular with the public. Another reason is that despite being in politics the longest out of the 4 candidates, he is the one who is the least immersed in the westminster bubble. He is the most genuine out of the lot of them.

      Biggy Nell This is the problem. With Corbyns record on defying the party line, he cant seriously expect the other Labour MP's to obey his whip. Its hard to picture how he could ever hold a feasible majority if he became leader.

    I think that the three also ran's are so used to talking in sound bite speak and spin that they find it impossible to answer a straight question. Corbyn gets my vote every time.

  • @nobad6134
    @nobad6134 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    The shocking thing is this was not even a politically difficult question. The 3 of them could have just plainly said they don't know instead of dilly dallying around. I suppose none of them wanted to commit to anything thinking in the future they could be caught out for being inconsistent. This is the legacy of Mandelson's carefully managed choreography. Honestly, politicians just create problems for themselves when there were none in the first place.

  • @LeeH688
    @LeeH688 9 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Remarkable that each of the 3 idiots sitting next to Jeremy Corbyn each do the classic fake laughs and smiles that are patronising, passive aggressive and unctuous all at the same time.
    Corbyn just by being a normal human being shows how ridiculous modern politicians have become. Without Corbyn there they would all look normal in their own bubble and no one would really watch.
    Hope he wins so that there is a choice besides Tory and Tory Lite. He probably can't win though as too many people still pay attention to the Tory press(i.e. the whole of the media)

    • @mizofan
      @mizofan 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      hayes1706 He can win, even with so much right-wing media brainwashing, People will see for themselves that he's not some monstrous loony Red but a decent man of integrity, and he can win back SNP and Green voters, even some UKIP working class voters betrayed by Blairism, and lots of disillusioned non-voters. The Tory vote is softer than many believe: in England they won a lot of votes of people frightened by the extent of SNP's success; that was due to Labour moving right, many Scottish socialists turning to SNP, and can be overturned. Labour can't win if it sticks to austerity lite, barring some complete disaster for the Tories (in which case they would win with Corbyn anyway)..

    Not a hard question to answer..

  • @jamesxenophon9505
    @jamesxenophon9505 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's basically a gotcha question. Who cares if Ed Miliband is in their cabinet? He just wants to make them look bad. The answer is 'hell no, we're not going to put a losing leader front and centre in the shadow cabinet', but they don't want to humiliate Ed Miliband and hurt his feelings, when they'll presumably have to see him every day in the house of commons. Silly question.

  • @jamesxenophon9505
    @jamesxenophon9505 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    And as for the claim that Jeremy Corbyn is giving a 'straight answer' - pull the other one. There's no way he's putting Ed Miliband in his shadow cabinet, so he offers him a job he wouldn't take in a million years. He's basically insulting him - saying he's good at Environment Secretary but not cut out for anything more significant.

    This is disgraceful reporting by the LBC host. He's just being hostile for the sake of it. He knows full well that if someone suggests that they'd like a certain person in their cabinet then it puts undue pressure on that person to then think about that position. They're quite right to be coy on the topic of Ed specifically, he's probably not feeling very good after that election. And I hate the Labour party, here I am defending the prospective leaders (all of whom didn't get the nod, but ... ah well XD)
