As a diabetic I love this comedy, I’ve basically been through the exact same experiences. I always forget that people have no idea what it actually is and it was good hearing a proper explanation that I could literally refer back to when explaining
Had to come back to this after watching it a few days ago, because in a movie my parents are watching, there is a type 1 diabetic kid who had all the signs of low blood sugar, and his mum said "you're so high", fed him something, and went looking for his medication. I was confused, and came back for Ed Gamble to educate me again. (The movie is "Greenland", with Gerald Butler.)
This was absolutely hilarious. Much needed on a day my face has swollen twice the size with a toothache on a holiday 😂 oh my, I didn't realize how much laughing would hurt...😂
Thank Edward, for all the diabetic humour, I had a diabetic friend as a child and we had tremendous fun bullying her, she was type 1 all the way and she started the bullying, by being diabetic
Oh Jesus as a Type-1 Diabetic, that's savage! Hope your past tense of "HAD a diabetic friend" means you bullied her to the grave laughing at her seizuring on the floor frothing at the mouth teasing her with Jelly Babies but not giving it to her. Best prank! Cheers and love! P.S. But if seriously you DO need to act attentively to your diabetic friends making sure they have their sweets with them (you can die quickly within minutes not without your insulins, but without your sweets. Sweets are more crucial to life than insulin).
@Walperion_Music she favoured those lucozade lozenges because you could carry loads and they hit hard and fast. She did ask to be bullied, because we'd check to see if she was still diabetic and she was, every SINGLE time, some people are so stubborn. She really was a wonderful person and an incredible smile for someone who deep down must have been extremely sad, because of all the diabetes. I hope you were bullied to the requisite degree during your youth, if not, I can organise something for you, if needed, you're welcome, have you ever been brave enough to take a lift alone, or do you just use the stairs?
"Its not like I do diabetic comedy" (he then proceeded to do diabetic comedy) 😅
Unrelated, but I like how the stage set makes it look like he's doing a TED talk. An ED talk, if you will.
I love how Richard is suddenly extremely clear for us to hear him.

I knew someone who carried a tube of icing/frosting instead. Cheaper than glucose paste and does basically the same job.

Thanks Ed. Hilarious how wrong people can get it. But glad you are keeping well yourself.
