- FORGOT A CRUCIAL TIP:
As you should/will know, the JFLS is what makes Jin so broken in T4, but as long as your opponent knows that they can evade the launcher by blocking the first two hits then sidestepping to the right, the move starts to get kinda predictable.
But there is a way to overcome it: whenever you feel the opponent is going to sidestep, just forget about the Laser Scraper and do a LASER CANNON: the finishing body strike has a TRACKING PROPERTY that prevents your opponent from sidestepping, not to mention considerable damage.
Then they will think twice before trying a sidestep, but at the same time if you feel they'll try to guard the body strike you can anticipate it and do the unblockable launcher instead.
Their chances of getting out unharmed after you succesfully do the 2 first punches of a Laser sequence become drastically reduced.
Knowing this, your opponents betcha start saying their prayers, 'cause they're gonna get terrorized. lol

Tekken 4 Jin was absolutely over powered and unstobbable. The laser annihilater combo was the cheapest move and easiest to confuse opponent.

Jin was god in TK4. His laser scraper which DJ got was safe as hell and his second ver. which lead to his uppercut was unlockable.
Tekken 4 and 5 are my favourite Tekken games of the Franchise. ☯️ By the way Tekken 4 had the best story and atmosphere no doubt. Also my favourite Tekken Intros of the series are 4 and 5. Especially Tekken 4, developers did a lot of things incredibly right, most storylines were incredibly cool and the atmosphere and seriousness was just on a another level. I don't think most would disagree that Tekken 4 had a great"everything-except-the-fighting" to it. Great and Epic soundtracks, unique character designs, good individual stories, and an interesting main Mishima arc revival. The thing is that it's still a fighting game and no matter how great everything else is, if the fighting bit is flawed it'll overshadow the positives.

the laser canon bf212 last hit can be stepped right if the 1st 2 hits were guarded.
if it couldnt be stepped then you would see top jin players at evo during tekken 4 days spam that shit since it is safe on block as well.
but no one ever uses it because it can be stepped.

I once bugged out the game in practice mode somehow and at one point Jin started using some Kazuya moves...Don't know how that worked, and it only lasted about 5 seconds.
@ironsfam10468 Jin lost Lingering Soul Omenin T6 and Laser Cannon/Laser Scraper were replaced by Evil Intent in T5. Difference: upward palm strike on 2nd hit instead of an elbow, 3rd hit is a body strike then a proper Karate stance.
Besides, I don't think I'm the best guy to cover T6 (yet). I just played it once (as you can see in another video) and I just can't master wavedashes on that f*ing X360 pad.
By the way, i think @byakokoko (see related videos) covers pretty much everything you need.

In T4, Jin is an overall balanced character (pretty good pokes, safe moves) PLUS awesome moves like EWHF, Parry and the broken-ass JFLS.
IF he had Savage Sword or Shun Masatsu from Tekken 5~6 there would be no f***ing match for him, no matter how many moves the other characters could take from later games. ^^
i wont jin to be broken coz i hate to hear bullshits from the others like.. u play alisa? then u are noob for sure.. but also i wont see jin used by pro player to loose from some lars or lili less than normal players in T6 wtf, Jin Hei Kaz are basic characters in tekken they must be kind of broken, thats just my opinion maybe im wrong

@@xenvj There are plenty of unlisted legacy moves from older Tekken games in T7. I wouldn't have asked if it was outside the realm of possibility.

My memory is a bit fuzzy but the laser scraper can be sidestepped at one point right? This was my favourite version of Jin. Few moves but they packed a whallop.

its just that jin is not a mishima (no ewgf = no mishima)

It doesn't mean that if Jin has no ewgf doesn't mean he isn't one.
His gameplay and style is mishima-esque
You have classic Mishima features like wavedash, EWGF (used to).
Jin had Mishima Ryu fighting style since Tekken 3 to Tekken Tag Tournament, so he's classified as Mishima at that time. But just because he changed his fighting style automatically changes his status as a Mishima? No, of course.
