I was worried I'd miss the torque and power of my V-Rod, but there's absolutely NOTHING this bike can't do that my V-Rod did. Even has the same stance, riding position, external frame work, and drippy headlight. I call mine "mini-rod". Raising a few eyebrows in my Harley community, but they can't lose me, lol! Just try me!!!
dude i literally pray every time before I ride because i loved how you do that before every ride video.. You're a true leader for real man.. Thank you.
You guys did a far better job at promoting this bike than Kawasaki did. They hardly have any pictures, and have zero videos showing how cool and fun it is. I want this bike.
The Rebel has a more classic look, but the KVS is a lot of fun to ride and you won’t outgrow it in terms of power. I ride in South Florida, where I95 flows at 75-80 mph and this bike has plenty of power left to pass when you need to get clear of traffic. In terms of style, it’s a bit of an oddball, but a great bike to ride.
The wife test rode both and she chose this one hands down. You’ll grow out of the rebel 500 quickly and the Vulcan will keep you happy no matter what riding you’ll do.
I bought the 2018 white Vulcan S last spring because of your videos. Absolutely love it, and the white/black trim gets a lot of compliments. Very peppy, agile, and fun to handle for a cruiser.
I jus got a '19 S40 Boulevard, she's light and perfect for a petite lady rider like myself. She's my 3rd bike (1st was Ninja 250, 2nd was a '15 Yamaha R3, which I loved) Glad I switched to cruiser style.
this was my first time viewing one of your videos, it was the caption on this video that drew my attention. Great to see you are a man of the word! Jesus reigns!
Finally got to test ride one of these at a KAWASAKI demo day event at Montgomeryville cycle center & man I had a blast ! I had more fun on this then the new zx6r & z900 lol. Maybe it’s because I own a sportbike & never been on a cruiser before.. idk but the bike has plenty of power I truly enjoyed every minute on it. Probably going to get myself one as a 2nd bike !
I got a 650 Vulcan 4 years ago absolutely love it great little motor cycle, I extended the pegs full length fitted the saddle bags and installed a Two Brothers pipe I'm looking at getting another bike in a few months but I'm keeping the kawasaki love this bike. P.S. just one problem with the saddle bags it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to fit them and remove them.
My wife has a 2016 Vulcan S Cafe edition (front mini fairing and color scheme) and it is quick..... I put a Dan Moto highwayman exhaust and did the rear Fender delete LED kit from Amazon and it looks amazing not to mention losing about 25lb from the huge steel fender and massive (quiet) stock exhaust . It’s noticeably quicker with just those mods and sounds and looks so much better! This bike has a 6 gears, a digital Speedo with a analog tach, a fuel gauge, and a tool kit under the seat as well. Lots of great stuff for the $6k we paid for it pre owned with 600mi on the clock. Huge back tire and mean black rims..... all in all a bike we will never get rid of and a great first bike for her.
I miss my 2007 Vulcan (EN500, great bike, but I ran out of time keep up with maintenance). Guess I liked the older style, but it does look better in orange than green.
Ran out of time for maintenance? I have a 2006 Vulcan 900 that I have put over 17k miles on it with ZERO problems. The only maintenance was the usual changing oil and I put new tires on it. What maintenance are you referring to?
@@allankay12 I had to park on the street in the pacific NW. I was traveling for work 50 weeks a year, so most of the week, it sat there getting rained on. Get ridden like crazy on the weekends (rain/shine) and then parked back on the street. Total sum of maintenance I still had due by the time I traded it in: Sprockets, chain, rust on the undercarriage, flaking paint, unbalanced carbs, electrical problems (most of them in the brake lights/indicators, I managed to resolve the starter issue when I found out where water was coming in), fork seals, and brakes needed replaced (drums/ discs). It had a hard 40,000 mile life with me (only owned the bike about four years, bought it used and the guy before me only had 3,000 miles on it in almost 6 years, so sitting didn’t do it any favors).
@@DrTranofEvil oh wow I didn't even think of that. I'm a lucky guy my bikes stay garage kept 24/7 365 when I'm not riding. Yea weather does a job on outside kept bikes. Take Care!
With Ergofit the footpegs move yes. But the handlebars and seat don’t move, they just have three different size options you can replace them with from the showrooms in some countries. As for where I live, it’s mid-reach only.
I just bought a 2001 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 TODAY with all serviced with EVERYTHING new on it and it's amazing, but I was really hoping to find this bike. I'm a 20 year off re-entry rider with a really bad left knee, so I NEED a low bike. The Honda Shadow 750 is PERFECT, but I will still add one of these to my stable. Who says I can't have two bikes ? I have many bass guitars, so why not ? I LOVE the Vulcan S650 so much. I don't get the "it's ugly" people. It's BADASS.
Love everything about the bike other than the transmission. That positive neutral finder is so damn annoying to try to shift from 1st to 2nd especially after the bike has warmed up a bit
I've had Kawis for years, probably 2 dozen bikes, and it was never a problem for me other than checking if a transmission was good on a non-running project bike. Change your oil and make smooth, deliberate shifts. Consider a little bit of "preload" on the shifter as well.
You are right Sean. These are the most underrated bikes out there. I got an 05 Vulcan 800 and I keep up with any cruiser no problem.bthe newer ones are different but I would still buy one! You guys were the only (good) review on the Vulcan series and that got me to buy it! Thanks Sean
Would be great to see this Vulcan S made with a 900cc engine. I know it would compete with their already 900 series cruiser, but a ninja engine this big is a great opportunity to move in a new direction.
I'm a motorcycle enthusiast I'll ride all bikes and have fun doing it! And equal opportunity bike lover, I hate when people put down certain manufacturers. Fine maybe it's not your style, you want your style to fit into that little tiny small box, but some of us just like to ride. I don't give a rat's ass what your riding as long as you're riding!!!
First thought when I saw this bike-"they messed up the Vulcan", but your vid opened my eyes. It IS cool. Not my thing, but, it is cool; specially the adjustability. Us bigger guys usually get overlooked. Maybe Kawasaki will encourage other manufacturers to implement adjustable platforms.
This is what I wanted as my first bike. Quick, torquey, comfortable, ABS, great looking, what’s not to like. Then after passing my test (a long complicated and expensive process here in UK) got to thinking... did I really put myself through all that, on a 600cc bike, just to ride a 650? Some say you should buy a bike within your limits, I disagree. If you RIDE well within your limits, most bikes are manageable and you can grow into them. It all depends how much you trust your own self control. So I bought the Suzuki M109R, intimidating at first but not that difficult when you get used to the size and weight, and it now feels like part of me. I don’t regret it but something about that Vulcan S is still calling me!!
Completely agree. I got my first bike , a Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 custom, a year ago this month and I've gotten quite sufficient on her. No regrets. I've already talked it with the misses and when I get her paid off, I will be on the hunt for a heavier, cushier ride but my Pyretta stays. She's family now.
Awesome! This is the first time I am hearing about this bike. I was worried that if I got a bike (like a Shadow) in 650, I could not cruise at 80-85 mph if I needed to. I will definitely be looking at this one.
The fastest I went with it was about 109mph but then the frontend starts feeling very loose. It could do 100 all day and how it gets you there will put a smile on your face.
These are great bikes, IMO. Especially if you have a hard time finding a good fit, as these are adjustable for a tailor fit. But if you are on a budget compare the specs to the first generation Kawasaki Vulcan 750. You might be surprised as to how close they are, practically same same. So for $1,500 to $2,500 You could be in the game on a bike that arguably sounds better, and that counts on a cruiser. I'm a huge fan of the VN 750 as they handle incredibly well and I live near Skyline Drive and lots of twisty mountain roads. I went through a lot of cruisers before settling on the VN 750 as best all around middleweight cruiser. But if you have good credit and can afford the payments, and you want a warranty, and modern technology then I agree with Sean the Vulcan S in the video is a great choice.
Saw one of these at the dealership yesterday because I'm looking for my first bike and I fell in love. It's a little higher in price than what I can afford maybe. I think I'll have to go back and see what financing on it is like....
Been watching your content awhile, and while not a religious person myself, I love how you respectfully represent your faith. How do you think this compares to a Raider? Also, how is it for tall riders? (I'm 6'5")
Hi man I'm a brand new rider here in Canada. You videos on the Vulcan 650 s got me to test drive one. And you know what I bought it immediately. Your videos rock!!! Please dont stop making them. As a new rider injustice have one question do you have any suggestion in regards to back tire slip when taking turns or possible causes. And as a brand new rider on this bike I smoked a gaint Indian cruiser last week. Thank you so much for the information
I was cross shopping entry level bikes so i walked into the kawasaki dealership to look at this bike. They seemed like they couldn't care less and didn't offer to help at all after i told them i was interested. 2 hours later i was riding home a used harley 1200 sportster for the same price and felt like part of a family.
i bought this bike as my first bike because I wanted something fast enough to keep me entertained, but didn't want to lay on my bike like you do with a sport bike. Im only about 285 miles into it but i can say it is so much fun to ride
I just started riding at the end of last season 2022. I took my class before buying my first bike. Witch is a Kawasaki Vulcan 650s and I enjoy the thrill the fun.
Tbh, I was searching around for some deep reviews on this Vulcan, then TH-cam recommended your video to me. At first, there was nothing major to really distinguish your style from the others. When you pulled out the Bible vers, omg I knew that I should hit that subscribe button and the bell asap! Bamm! Thanks for the video. I've made up my mind on my first bike now! Thank you!
I've got a request. This bike is good for many sized people. But me being 5'1, I want to eventually get a more powerful bike. I have a Yamaha vstar 650. I'd like something 1300 or larger but it's so hard to find a stronger cruiser for shorter people. Since you have such a vast knowledge, what do you suggest, or can you do a video one day on it? I know there are other vids out there, but they are mostly for 250 to maybe 900 bikes. All beginner bikes. I want one that will help me get an idea on what I can start to look at for when the time comes. Thanks and I really enjoy all your videos. God bless!
For a new budget cruiser the Vulcan is is a solid bike. But if you want one of the fastest budget bikes of all time you gotta go back to the Vulcan 750. I got an 1986 750 for only $1,000 it's 750cc water cooled V Twin has more power and torque. Even for its age it was an incredible engine with twin over head cams, 4 valves per cylinder and twin spark plugs per cylinder. And it has a 10.5:1 compression ratio. The 750 was one of Kawasaki's best bikes which is why it had such a crazy long run time and they never changed it.
You a new 400 for $3150??? Damn. I'm looking into getting one and I found a dealer with a 2018 ABS model for $4400. Of course not including title, tags, taxes etc so really, its about $5600 out-the-door. I'd definitely pull the trigger with that price
The seat isn't adjustable there are actually three different seat sizes for short, medium and tall riders. You need a different linkage rod on the shifter side to move that foot peg between the three positions. On the brake side there is enough slack in the hydraulic hose to move between the three positions. It's a dynamite bike for the money, the only small complaint I have is that in first gear the throttle is a bit twitchy, still I love mine.
I own it's predecessor the Vulcan 500 amazing performance out of these little beginner bikes but if you are looking into it as a first bike I'd highly recommend it enough power to not get ran over and keep up with friends in group rides going 80+ mph best advice is to use the pegs like highway pegs for long travels and you are all set to go
I just came across your channel a couple weeks ago, been an avid long time biker for about 20 years, have had a 2002 and 2004 R6, a 2001 shadow 750 and a 2005 vstar 1100 custom. Thanks for kicking off your videos with scripture, blessed by that. I'm looking into my next potential bike going into next summer, contemplating an iron 883, ideally want around 1,000-1,200cc, but I love the look and colors of the 883s over the 1200s. The 48 has me intrigued though and I'm definitely a fan of the Scout and Scout 60. Thoughts for a guy that's 5'10 and has a good bit or riding behind him? Thanks! 👊🏻🙏🏻☝🏻
@@ryanfranke251 "Less than $5000" isn't the price of the bike, that's the ballpark. He actually wants SRK to say how much they are asking for the bikes. So nobody walked into anything.

I originally thought a lot about getting a Breakout next year but in all honesty I'm not that hooked into the rest of the Harley bikes. I think about getting either a Japanese or European sport bike next.

Ok, this prob little off topic in terms of the video content, but that good words before you start riding, had just gave me an encouragement I really need. I immediately open up my good book app and felt God’s love on me. Thank you.
😂 you clown.
thats what its all about brother it did the same for me ... pray for the guy with the clown comment he is lost.... God bless.and never forget !
Stephen Buonopane yes pray for me because i must be sooo lost huh friend? I can’t find my way in this world. If only I believed in some book and some all knowing being who chills up in the sky and watches mass murders go down under his nose 😂
Been riding Harley V-rod (with stage 2 kit) since 2008. Sold it when I moved, and now I have a2019 Vulcan S and I love it.
Would you recommend this bike for a 6'2 feet tall rider?
@@vicfdez7830 I'm 6'6 and ride one comfortably. Person that owned it before me added the extended controls and that helps.
dude i literally pray every time before I ride because i loved how you do that before every ride video.. You're a true leader for real man.. Thank you.
alec pollock same I just started doing it
You guys did a far better job at promoting this bike than Kawasaki did. They hardly have any pictures, and have zero videos showing how cool and fun it is. I want this bike.
Can't believe this video came out today. I'm torn between this and the Rebel500 for my first bike and I keep going back and forth.
I bought a Vulcan s last year still very enjoyable, I’m 6’3 185 pounds very quick bike.
I like the new rebel's design but it's a no-brainer with the Vulcan s
I bought the 2018 white Vulcan S last spring because of your videos. Absolutely love it, and the white/black trim gets a lot of compliments. Very peppy, agile, and fun to handle for a cruiser.
Every bike you do a video on is either the best or the fastest ever . You are a good salesman
All bikes are amazing
I currently have a 87 Suzuki LS650 Savage, feels buzzy at 70. Would love to trade up to the Vulcan. Live long and prosper
Love the savage for it's sound and looks!!! Fact you're riding a 87 says it all....
I jus got a '19 S40 Boulevard, she's light and perfect for a petite lady rider like myself. She's my 3rd bike (1st was Ninja 250, 2nd was a '15 Yamaha R3, which I loved)
Glad I switched to cruiser style.
this was my first time viewing one of your videos, it was the caption on this video that drew my attention.
Hey you should really review a 90s Vulcan 500. I just got one and I want to see what other people think of them. Also love the channel man!
This bike was a close second for me, but I went with a Triumph. The Vulcan S is very nimble and quick, but also very rider-friendly.
Yes, A great bike, but as its owner operator I should still be in bike neglector rehab for the terminally brain frozen ..0
Total sum of maintenance I still had due by the time I traded it in:
Sprockets, chain, rust on the undercarriage, flaking paint, unbalanced carbs, electrical problems (most of them in the brake lights/indicators, I managed to resolve the starter issue when I found out where water was coming in), fork seals, and brakes needed replaced (drums/ discs).
Take Care!
This bike changed my opinion about cruisers. Nice video. Thanks
Always love your videos love to hear H&D men tell it like it is
With Ergofit the footpegs move yes.
But the handlebars and seat don’t move, they just have three different size options you can replace them with from the showrooms in some countries.
As for where I live, it’s mid-reach only.
I love that you put skill level rating!!!
@@VndNvwYvvSvv I've already done all of that. I heard it gets less clunky with a power commander and new exhaust so I'll try that.
You are right Sean. These are the most underrated bikes out there. I got an 05 Vulcan 800 and I keep up with any cruiser no problem.bthe newer ones are different but I would still buy one! You guys were the only (good) review on the Vulcan series and that got me to buy it! Thanks Sean
Thanks Sean! Watching you ride this bike is awesome, an d the way you present it is excellent!
Watching from Israel. I ride the Kawa Vulcan S 650. Awesome bike. Keep up the entertaining videos.
Would be great to see this Vulcan S made with a 900cc engine. I know it would compete with their already 900 series cruiser, but a ninja engine this big is a great opportunity to move in a new direction.
Bought a 2015 Vulcan 650 with 760 miles on it it's green, it's her first bike, and she loves it.
My buddy got one. While couldn't smoke my Victory, it kept up pretty well.
Can't wait to buy one of these. It's my favorite bike on earth. Best sport cruiser ever made.
I love that you read scripture before your rides! I'm gonna start doing this before my rides! God bless brother!
I picked up a Vulcan S because of your cool videos, thanks man and keep on riding
Would love if Yamaha did the same thing with an FZ-09 engine
@@GarethNicholson Thank you. I'd only hit 100 just to say I did. And only 80-85 when I want to get away from bad cagers at night.
0 to 60 in 4 sec! That’s fast 👍 looks nice too
These are great bikes, IMO.
Never waste a perfectly good highway on-ramp. :-)
That one has a really good highway gearing.
Quick too.
Saw one of these at the dealership yesterday because I'm looking for my first bike and I fell in love. It's a little higher in price than what I can afford maybe. I think I'll have to go back and see what financing on it is like....
Now if they'd only make a Vulcan S1200...
Yeah. Or at least a Vulcan S 1000. Engine from the Ninja 1000.
I would buy one now if it came with the new Z1000 engine!
@@wrongwolfride9289 ive been saying this for a couple years and ive told kawi reps at motocycle shows. Hoprfully it happens
You would need to buy a Ducati to get that much power.....
Yes!
Been watching your content awhile, and while not a religious person myself, I love how you respectfully represent your faith.
How do you think this compares to a Raider? Also, how is it for tall riders? (I'm 6'5")
how loud is it? i've never seen such a quiet cruiser
Very quiet the only bike besides electric that I’ve heard that’s so quiet
Hi man I'm a brand new rider here in Canada. You videos on the Vulcan 650 s got me to test drive one. And you know what I bought it immediately. Your videos rock!!! Please dont stop making them. As a new rider injustice have one question do you have any suggestion in regards to back tire slip when taking turns or possible causes. And as a brand new rider on this bike I smoked a gaint Indian cruiser last week. Thank you so much for the information
Thank you for being a rep. for God. Good bike information.
Love my 2019 Matt Green and black one.
I got the same ;)
i bought this bike as my first bike because I wanted something fast enough to keep me entertained, but didn't want to lay on my bike like you do with a sport bike. Im only about 285 miles into it but i can say it is so much fun to ride
It was good for you when u started or it was to strong?
@@erikmartinezsantos4180 nah, it's alright.
I love the words of wisdom!!
I just started riding at the end of last season 2022. I took my class before buying my first bike. Witch is a Kawasaki Vulcan 650s and I enjoy the thrill the fun.
How does this compare to an Indian Scout? 100 hp, 72ft/lbs, 561 lbs (w/ fuel)
It’s half the price
The scout should be alot faster, but at the vulcan's lightest you'll be heavier with an extra 50 lbs
No comparison
Tbh, I was searching around for some deep reviews on this Vulcan, then TH-cam recommended your video to me. At first, there was nothing major to really distinguish your style from the others. When you pulled out the Bible vers, omg I knew that I should hit that subscribe button and the bell asap! Bamm! Thanks for the video. I've made up my mind on my first bike now! Thank you!
Well done...especially the verse. God Bless.
God bless!
I subscribed as soon as you pulled out that scripture. Bless you bro!
Love my Kawi. Went from Bandit 1200S and Fatboy to Ninja 400 for $3150 new from dealer. Vulcan is slow but if gotten cheap would be okay.
You a new 400 for $3150??? Damn. I'm looking into getting one and I found a dealer with a 2018 ABS model for $4400. Of course not including title, tags, taxes etc so really, its about $5600 out-the-door. I'd definitely pull the trigger with that price
My current is a Yamaha Midnight Maxim. I definitely would like to move to this Kawasaki in the near future.
I would install an steering damper and get off those counterweights. also a shorter exhaust and maaaaaan, i love this one
Wild to see these older videos. That bike is like $8500 these days!
It is a beautiful bike, kawasaki is coming back again .
Dont know if I keep coming back for the bikes or for the scriptures ✌✌
Ugh
I'm a Muslim and I love that he does this everytime before he sets off
Shoving his beliefs onto everyone is just sad 😂
I learned to street ride on 1976 kaw in 77 and kept up with harleys old triumph good learner size bike light and power and easy to handle
Love the words of wisdom. ❤
My least favorite part.
“It’s nimble, it’s quick” i was hoping it could jump over a candlestick
What are you doing here? We need you in quadrant 4
I own it's predecessor the Vulcan 500 amazing performance out of these little beginner bikes but if you are looking into it as a first bike I'd highly recommend it enough power to not get ran over and keep up with friends in group rides going 80+ mph best advice is to use the pegs like highway pegs for long travels and you are all set to go
That's for the Vulcan S as a first bike
This bike starts at 7k not 5k
they are a used motorcycle dealership, he's talking about the used market
Right? I wished I could've bought mine for less the 7499
I bought a 2015 Bolt instead and happy....very similar
I still ride mine in the cold haha
Thanks! 👊🏻🙏🏻☝🏻
When talking about the bikes can you put the price on the screen or say the price?
You walked into this but... Less than $5000

I have been riding for 40 years. I now prefer lighter nimble bikes.
Hell yeah. My first bike is a Sportster. Currently on a 2019 Harley Davidson Forty Eight.
I originally thought a lot about getting a Breakout next year but in all honesty I'm not that hooked into the rest of the Harley bikes. I love mine and have a lot of fun on it and think they're certainly improved a lot but still...
The Harley crowd can sometimes be really cool but also really shitty.
I think about getting either a Japanese or European sport bike next.
