    The motivation behind an alter ego I think is the game changer.

    As a survivor of family abuse I was always scared and hesitant. I decided that my purpose in life is to spread Love Joy and Happiness and I set out to do that. It made a huge difference. Instead of focusing on what others think I focus on putting out Happy vibes. It has increased my business network like nothing else. It's almost like an invisible force field against negativity :)

    Fundamentally he’s speaking about using “acting as if” to raise your energetic vibration to improve personal performance.

      It seems weird but thats how you start the process

      For real - this is why I recommend everyone take acting classes. You can choose to BE any character you want.
      Having a superhero alter ego is a small part of just playing a character in acting.

    My life's journey is in phases...when I get to the end of a phase, I momentarily get stuck on where to go next. The stuck moments can be long or short. The Alter Ego has opened that window of understanding of how to get to the next phase...clothing myself with what I want to be over and over again. To me, it's a mindset shift I have found valuable to apply into my next phase of life. Thank you.🙏🙏

    I'm really intrigued by this idea. I came up with 4 different alter egos for different areas of life and I will start putting them to the test tomorrow.

    Wow, I've been halfway here.. I realised I need to start dressing better, started wearing watches again, I also have been trying new things that old me would never do like starting martial arts class.. Seems I've been on my way to make a new me, and an alter ego might be the shortcut I need

    Incredible dialogue with tons of valuable insights, thanks gentlemen. While listening, two examples of exceptional practices of alters really popped in my mind which is pretty cool, Halloween and entertainers specifically musical artist and actors.
    My husband and I were discussing insecurities this morning that come up when attempting to transition out of careers into business. I mentioned the God Janice who’s image is that of two heads. After reading about it’s characteristics which are the capability of transitioning while looking at the past and future, well in short words at least its representation. And for some reason alter ego came to mind and our conversation so I was led to glorious TH-cam and thus your interview. We will most definitely be putting your advice into practice, you’re both awesome thanks again.

    One interesting point that he made is that the pandemic and financial struggle hits men and women differently. Maybe because I’m single, but as a woman, I felt the exact same “I’m a failure” when my business closed during covid. I don’t think stress with finances is just a male brain/provider thing.

    • @TheAlexDouglas
      @TheAlexDouglas 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's because you're single

    • @tiffanyboyd6161
      @tiffanyboyd6161 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree with you - I am a business owner who was widowed shortly before Covid. I was forced to close my office for a few months and it had a huge effect on my finances. I was feeling like a failure too, it realized - hey - I had a big bump in the road, but I’m still here. Not a failure, but now more experienced than ever. And you are, too!

      This isn't only a single person issue.

    Almost 50% of our brain is involved in visual processing. True. University of Rochester researchers found that more than half of the surface of our brains, called the cortex, is dedicated to processing visual stimuli.

      I feel you, but honestly another way to think about it is that we all have access to all types of behaviors and emotions, there isn’t one that is specific to only one person. I think it’s helpful in looking at others to give ourselves permission to step into the parts of ourselves we feel that we can’t for some reason. Just my two cents.

    • @ericdaniel323
      @ericdaniel323 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is a great point, but I think starting with a template can be helpful. I compare it to the process I was taught as a musician - copying the styles of different players you admire is how you develop your own unique style.

      More than 50% is. I don’t claim to know the exact number but I’d say it’s close enough. Also, out of this whole conversation, is THIS the one and only thing you considered so important that you had to comment and be a Karen about it?… 😂

    I was rejected from the military for a disability, but that doesn't mean I still can't be a soldier in my own right. I know just what to say, wear, and do, to convincingly wear a military uniform and be perceived as the soldier I know myself to be. And to those who wanna cry "stolen valor" at me, just remember you stole MY valor first. I'm just taking back what I've earned. And I'm a human trafficking survivor, so uh yeah I sure as fuck earned it, even the purple heart medal I wear to signify my wounds from being mercilessly beaten and r*ped for over a year. Die mad about it, or stand at attention and salute me. o7
