If you can not find the Transparent Extender Base you can use any Silkscreen extender base or even Silkscreen transparent base and add (glycerin) found at any drug store or grocery store. Add a few drops of glycerin at a time until you get a nice flow.
Amazing! Thank you for this video was very informative. Do you know any alternatives to speedball drawing fluid? Can we Use other type of medium to get similar effect?
I have to correct myself and ask more precisely: Do you know if the Transparent Extender Base is identical to the Transparent Base or Acrylic Extender Base? The latter two products are available in my country, but not the Transparent Extender Base. Thank you.
They actually stop making the transparent extender base,(sad) but if you add a little glycerin to your Transparent Base or Acrylic extender base (this will wet it and slow down any drying time as it sits on your screen) it works just as well, it just will not look as thick. Thanks Pat
You will be fine using the transparent Extender Base and fold or mix in a few drops of glycerin into the extender base to create a “wetter” product. I have not tried to modify the acrylic extender base. Thanks Pat
I don’t know what are “fluid acrylics” but the speedball drawing fluid, or other products, act like a water base glue…that when dry we can surround the image with screen filler, then the water base product that we draw and paint with will wash out with a wet sponge. Thanks-Pat
As a life long silkscreener, I truly appreciate your solid approach to basic silkscreening. I very much liked your informative videos.

Super helpful video! Are you able to pull any ghost prints using this method?

Wow! Thanks 😁
If you can’t find the Transparent Extender Base (Water Soluble) you can use the Transparent Base and mix in glycerin.
Is glycerin archival?
Thanks for sharing this technique! Great demo!
Can this type of print be transferred to fabric as well?
I just have not tried it and do not know how well it will set up on fabric. Give it a try and good luck.
this is fucken wicked
No we are using Speedball drawing fluid, or you can use Daler Rodney system 3 Sreen Drawing Fluid
We are using a yellow 230 Mesh, 23”x 31 silkscreen.
This is so gorgeous! Reminds me of a Goya drawing.
What a wonderful process. 'm going to give this a go. Can you use a 305 mesh screen for this? What screen were you using?
This is awesome! Using this

I have used Daler Rodney, system 3 Screen Drawing Fluid as well.
Can a photograph/silk print be done on a canvas? What other surfaces are alternatives for an aspiring visual artist like myself?

Thumbs up
When you say drawing fluid do you mean masking fluid like liquid Frisket ?
That was incredible 😍😍
this is great. thanks
do you have website?
Wow! Thank you for sharing this technique.
You are making unique prints by incorporating mono printing and stencil printing. Mono printing does not use a stencil matrix .
I just love the watercolor effect with either a photo technique or a solid acrylic color included to bring it all together. Thanks
This is a really cool technique!
Love this video
Great work
Is transfer extender base identical with acrylic extender base?
Yes with added Glycerin
The glycerin will slow down drying time and really grab all the pigment from the screen.
What's colour using silk screen
Caran D’Ache water soluble crayons work so nicely. You can both draw on the screen or mix the colors on a palette to paint directly on the screen.
It’s a 230 mesh screen standard yellow color. Thanks
