  • To upgrade an SAP kernel, you can try the following steps:
    Check the current kernel: Log in to SAP and go to System - Status to check the current kernel release and patch level.
    Download the new kernel: You can download the new kernel from the SAP website.
    Back up the current kernel: Take a backup of the current kernel directory.
    Stop SAP: Stop the SAP system and any services.
    Extract the kernel archives: Extract the kernel archives.
    Adjust permissions: Adjust the permissions as the root user.
    Start SAP: Start the SAP system.
    Check the new kernel: Verify the new kernel patch level.
    You can also automate the kernel upgrade process in SAP by following these steps:
    Go to the Configuration menu and select Automation.
    Select SAP Kernel Upgrades in the Automations tab.
    Click New on the toolbar.
    Enter a name and description, and select the customer from the drop-down list.

    /sapmnt/SID/exe or /sapmnt/SID/exe/uc/ Linux x86_64
