Thank you so much maam... Yesterday i have cleared my CPC exam with score 81%. Learning from you is a pleasure. Thanks for the excellent CPC exam topic videos” thanks for everything!
Hi Miss. I have a doubt in Q 4, is it supposedly to add the lesions as they are on the same anatomic region? As per guideline, sum of lengths of repairs, hence C is the correct answer. Please advise.
HI mam. Your videos are very helpful. Please do more videos. I have one question. If a punch biopsy of the lesion is done along with the shaving of the lesion. we need to code for both right?
Hi, thank you very much. Yes, you can code both a punch biopsy and the shaving of a lesion if both procedures are performed on the same lesion. It’s important to follow specific coding guidelines: Punch Biopsy: Use CPT code 11104 for a punch biopsy of the skin, which includes simple closure when performed. Shaving of Lesion: Use CPT code 11300-11313 depending on the size and location of the lesion.
Leg is an extremity. Code 12036 is for Repair, intermediate, wounds of scalp, axillae, trunk and/or extremities (excluding hands and feet).. Therefore option B is the right answer.
Hii mam, In question number 6 how the option B is correct. Because in 12031(main code of 12036) it mentioned as excluding hands and feet. But treatment was done to the leg. Then answer must be the option D 12046. Please explain mam.

Legs and arms are considered extremities. So the answer will be 12036 which is option B because the anatomic location is leg. Option D is for hands/ feet which is wrong
In question 4 , for malignant lesion area is upper back, but for option 11602 its trunk, arms and legs? How mam One more doubt benign and malignant both are there so, malignant ae have to code 1st right
@@CodeMedMasterythat's ok mam.But according to CPT guidlines first we have to malignant lesions then why will you code benign lesions first?? Pls explain these...

Hi, 4th Question is about lesion excision not repair.
We must not add lengths of lesion on the same anatomic site for lesion excision.

I think Question 6.
Answer D will right because anatomic site is lower leg but in code12036 is excluding leg
Can u elaborate?
Leg is an extremity.
Code 12036 is for Repair, intermediate, wounds of scalp, axillae, trunk and/or extremities (excluding hands and feet).. Therefore option B is the right answer.
Yes This doubt strikes for me too
@@CodeMedMasteryExcluding means without right????
Yes for me also same doubt, excluding means not includes. In 12046 mention feet. Then we should code 12046 right

Mam,if both malignant lesions one excision means we calculate????
I don't understand your question
@@CodeMedMastery Two Malignant lesions in trunk, one excision means we can calculate Cms of lesions???
8/10!!!
@CodeMedMastery Mam can you please help with us , how to prepare for cpc in a best way .
Sure. How can I help you?
hi mam, in 4th question why we are not adding excision lesions of same anatomical site. can you please explain? please reply
Is there any change in pattern?
There are no changes yet.
Mam I think in 6th question the right answer will be D please check again
Hi, option B is right. Option D is wrong because of anatomic location.
legs and arms are comes under extremities you are confusing it with hands and feet
Legs and arms are considered extremities. So the answer will be 12036 which is option B because the anatomic location is leg.
Option D is for hands/ feet which is wrong
In question 4 , for malignant lesion area is upper back, but for option 11602 its trunk, arms and legs? How mam
One more doubt benign and malignant both are there so, malignant ae have to code 1st right
In medical coding, the upper back is considered part of the trunk area.
Therefore 11602 is right.
