Whats funny in this video is Bob is all by himself having all sorts of issues on the sail and it cuts to Megan having a grand old time drinking pina colada's all over San Juan! Classic! lol

Great Video. This was my favorite of yours so far. I feel like we really got to meet Megan. Good thing your sketchy Outhaul broke when it did. Always better when the weather is manageable. There is nothing like one of those snapping in high winds.
Sailing alone seems risky to me but then if I was able I'd most likely try it just for the hell of it. Although I think I'd miss Megan too much! Man Megan those drinks looked mighty good. I can just imagine how that aged rum must taste! Great episode ya'll!

Megan did a great job on the solo report on the Pina Colada's history. Enjoyed it. Also Bob, the solo sail on a boat you just stepped on, finding issues as you went was a little hair raising I would say. Looks like it's going to be an enjoyable boat for all the sailing doodles crew.

Underway repairs are part of the challenges. We had the mainsail headplate separate in 30 knots and had to make underway repairs. A ride up to the top of the mast to retrieve the halyard and plate. That was fun, but at least I had one crew. Always fix'n something... ⛵

Barrilito Rum is made in my hometown Bayamón. and they come in 2 stars and 3 stars.... the smoky flavor is because they smoke the wooden barrels for storage.... and will acquire the smoky smooth flavor. You can find it in the Mainland but way more expensive..... Cheers!!! Sail Safe....Guys!!

I bought one of those stereos in France. It comes like that out of the box, but you can change it!! I believe you have to hold down the display button (should be a little push button just above and to the right of the volume knob). It'll then beep and give you option which you scroll through with the volume knob and you can adjust colour, brightness, etc. Lots of shades to choose from and you can pick a stable colour and dim as you like!! Might be a little different with yours, but you can def fix that!!
Bob, that stereo has a "display" feature that show all the fancy lights flashing and other things it can do. You should be able to shut it off. Hold down one of those buttons should take you to a menu that you can scroll through. Should say Display and you can turn it off. Do a search on the make and model when you have internet access. Keep up the great videos!
+mdelano thanks. I've done that and stopped it but the problem is that the stereo was not originally wired correctly... when I turn off power to the stereo and vhf (on the same breaker) it cuts off all power to the stereo so it loses its memory every time and starts up in that mode every time
Bob, if it is like a car radio, there are 2 +power lines. One permanently goes to the +battery terminal before the breaker, but is fused for protection. This line is what supplies power for the memory, etc. The other +power line would normally go after a power switch/breaker. Sounds like both wires are connected together after the breaker, which would constantly cause the radios to loose power/memory. In car radios, the switched or ignition power lines are usually blue or grey, while the constant + is red.
+Glenn Koenig yeah there is no power line directly to the battery so it resets every time I turn off the breaker. I'll fix that eventually... it real high on the list at the moment!
Barrilito Rum ( the one used for the coladas in Barrachina's, can be purchased at Specs liquor in Houston. It is aged in used Bourbon barrels so it has a unique taste.
"Whiskey Pole" Said as Whiskey poles are used for non-spinnaker class racing and short-handed cruising, or whenever downwind performance is desired without the use of conventional spinnakers. A properly sized and deployed whiskey pole will allow the headsail to add considerable power and speed to downwind sailing. Telescoping whiskey poles allow one pole to be used with furling headsails or multiple sized jibs and "Gen-a-whaa" on a given boat. Hey. It's so cool to see you in this new boat. I love catamaran and I have a license for a small one to sail. The issue with the stereo, did you tried to go through the settings? I have a stereo at my car and it does the same thing wen it lost the power and sets back to manufacture settings. But I can change it in the settings to a steady color. If not, you could get a new hadunit for less than 50$ from a car-dealer. The Bordpower should be 12 volt. Isn't it? I would love to sail with you together. I could fix everything on the boat what needs to be fixed. Stay cool. Love you all four.

Best pina colada is in the Swizzle Inn , Bermuda , They also got a great drink called the swizzle I prefer English Harbor Rum. Use 25 year for sippn and 5 year for mixed drinks but the 5 year is also very good for sippin
Great video...just to be aware that the backing plates behind those cleats might not take the vertical loading when you tie off the genoa like that.. Best to use a snatch block...
