    I had the white version of that Cart. I liked it a lot but ran out of room. So I traded it in on a bigger Mac Cart.
    Good video ...

    Hey man I love your tool vids but was curious if you went to a trade school and learned about diesel and heavy equipment mechanics or did you just start out in a shop and work your way up?

    • @katools4846
      @katools4846  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jory Mosshart I mechaniced in the Army for a few years. caterpillar views that as sufficient education/experience. That being said I’ve learned a lot by being at a dealership and have worked my way up here.

    How did you get cat branded snap on tools??? I would kill for some

    • @katools4846
      @katools4846  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Corey Suttles Order them through Caterpillar. They’re available to the public. I believe you can get them online at Cat Parts and just type in what tool you need.

      Look up cat handtools and shop supplies catalog.
      Make a list of part numbers and walk in and talk to the parts department any cat dealer.
      Much easier to know what you want before you go in there as usually theyvqre only interested in selling parts.

    • @katools4846
      @katools4846  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Turbo picker 9000 I did not. I got my qualifications through being an Army mechanic and got hired as a service tech 2.

    • @Turbopicker
      @Turbopicker 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      KATools I gottcha. Im looking at being a cat tech and not sure if I need to be in the program

    • @katools4846

      Turbo picker 9000 Did you do any trade school or equivalent military experience?

    • @Turbopicker
      @Turbopicker 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      KATools well I’m 17 and I work for a Kubota dealership helping repair tractors as well do some jobs on my own. I’ve invested intools of my own since I’ve planned to do this as a career. But other then the experience I have with tractors that’s it

    • @katools4846
      @katools4846  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Turbo picker 9000 I don’t know that much about the think big program but I’d advise either that or trade school. You’ll want the knowledge and the credentials if you plan to make this a career.

    Price difference in CAT brand tools?

    • @katools4846
      @katools4846  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TheConcluziioN Quite a bit. Maybe 1/3 to 1/2 the price depending on the tool. Sometimes CAT gets lazy and doesn’t even put their name on a tool so you’ll end up getting one that actually says Snap-On

    • @Jasonandsonsgarage
      @Jasonandsonsgarage 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I have a 3/4 ratchet handle that says snapon and it just had a cat sticker on it.
