Awesome video, loved seeing you out with your family. I miss those days when my son was young. Good news is he loves the outdoors and we get to wheel together periodically.
Beautiful way to spend a day out. I remember my girls being that age and now they are 15 and 16. Time flys, Im glad there is this kind of content being put out there.
Watching this video back is mindbending thinking how much my kids have changed since I started making videos. Its both sad and amazing at the same time. We've got more family content slated for 2025!
This story was amazing! The musical score with the timing of video transitions is amazing, piano to cello, the music score complimented your camera work. The drone shots were very professional. The setup to do those must be tedious. I still believe this is some of the best work you've produced. Your move to full-time content creator is paying dividends!
I expect that whole area will be under a deep blanket of snow very soon. Glad y’all got to get out there before the winter weather arrived. We did that same drive in the spring and it was gorgeous. Will, you’re a very blessed man and have a lovely family. Happy Trails.
Great point. It is a lot easier to spend quality time as a family when you don't have so many things competing for attention. Makes all the effort worthwhile
This is one of my "Go-To" areas as well! One of these days, I want to put in with my kayak and paddle from the bridge (4:10) downstream and take out at Arrow Rock Dam. Awesome Waterfall at the 5:20 mark!
@@Venture2Roam Let's do it! Love your content! Keep it coming! I also want to float the South Fork from Baumgartner CG to Pine. I've been thinking of doing it and recording on my 360.
When I was a kid back in the 60's. Me and my little brother. Our dad was like Chevy Chase. He would load us in the Oldsmobile and we would go.. Mom, all of us. For weeks. I always remember those trips to this day. Now my nephews are offroading. Death Valley.. " What has uncle Scotty done lately" It's a connection that most people these days do not have.
I agree 100% with what you're saying about going outdoors with your family. It's a bit of a cheat code to spending quality family time. I've probably spent more money than I should on gear, but it's always a great time when we manage to get outa the city. Really enjoyed this one. Gonna be heading out for some cold winter camping this Thanksgiving. Cheers!
I was going to tell you the drone video was great, better than great.. I was going to compliment you on the soundtrack, tell you what wonderful parents you both are, and what a great job you do with your children........what I really want to say is thank you, wow, I needed that....
Awesome as always. You have a beautiful family, and good on you for actually letting the kids do and not just watch. That is a lost art in today’s world. See you out there fam!
Thanks for the video kind of reminds me of outdoor Idaho or Oregon field guide. Don and Donna p.s we got our first snow today, so I guess winters here in north Idaho
I feel your vacation pain. The day before going to Hawaii, I broke both arms going otb on my mt bike. Kids went with our friends, wife and I stayed home. 😢
When teaching your daughter the skill of fire building, you started to say pound sign and quickly said hashtag. I was explaining something to my daughter and said pound sign, she didn't understand and I drew it. She said hashtag and I said what is that, my wife was laughing at both of us during the entire thing.
lol...my daughter never knew life before touch screens. The word "phone" means something completely different to her than it does to me lol....so crazy how we have to try and teach them in their language.
I love the explanation on knife verses hatchet. I’ve used both but tend to the hatchet because that was what I was used to. What knife is that you’re using?
Thanks. I have zero issues with folks who properly use a hatchet. They are great. I just don't recommend them in general because I see them misused so often. That knife is an Essee 6. I love it. It's 3-4 years old. I use it on every trip for something or other.
Cool trip! Curious how your 392 does on fuel with trips like this or the one you did recently in Moab? Do you carry extra fuel? (I ask because we have a new 2024 392, but have not made it out on a trip yet.)
It's definitely not great on gas mileage, but it doesn't really do worse than my 2013 JKU did. I factor in a about a 200 mile range offroad, so I try to gas up every 150. It was zero issue for a trip like this. It was also zero issue in Moab since those trails are all pretty short. On the Rubicon I had to conserve gas, but I still made it through with 1/4 tank left. I did carry extra fuel on a trip across Oregon, but I didn't need it.
17:09 That's a real fatherly moment right there
Thanks! She’s getting better at starting fires!!

High praise coming from you Christoff. Thank you for much!

Thanks Keith, those are very kind words. I'll keep trying to get better each time I go out!

I can’t wait to get back out there in the snow!
Great family time. Quality time.
“It’s this part of the drive where I can feel my soul start to feel a different sort of happiness.” > music and drone 👏🏻🥹
She really nailed that vibe.
Both kids are grown up so much. It's so cool they both go with you and are happy. They share your sense of adventure and willingness to explore. ❤️
Thanks. We feel blessed to have times like these with the kids. They are learning to use cameras too...I need a film crew lol.
This is the very reason we got into overlanding and why I started a YT channel! Thanks for making these kinds of videos. They are truly Inspiring!
So awesome to hear that, thank you!
1 minute in and I’m so excited as a father and husband!
👍👍👍🙌
Dang what an epic area you live in Will! So beautiful, we need to get you flyfishing bud to make use of those rivers and streams!!!
Dude, I thought the same thing..might have to try Fly Fishing again.
Nice to see
Thank you!

I find this to be even more true as they get older!

I’ve wanted to do the same thing! It looks so awesome down there on the river.

That’s all I want for my kids…to know what that connection to the outdoors feels like.
Great family adventure! The kids are in charge of the fire next outing!
😂

Hope you have a blast. We just finished our first snow camping trip of the year and it was awesome.
Love the drone shots!
Thanks!
Hashtag fire. I love it!
Lol...gotta speak in their terms.

Family time is always the best time. I’m incredibly grateful that you watched and engaged with this video, it means a lot.
Love this!!!!! We just did the same thing, just up and left for a night to go figure it out! Man I hope that foot gets better quickly!!!!!
Kate's ankle is still healing, but getting better, thank you!
Just wow what a video!!!!!!!
Need to go all the way up to the head waters at Ross fork north of smoky bar. Beautiful up there.
I don't think I've ever done that. It just went on the list.
Your cinematography is getting next level awesome. Let Rob know he has competition.
Rob was sitting next to me when this comment posted lol...we just finished a snow trip in Idaho together. 😂
You rock, keep up the amazing content!
Thank you!

Hi guys! We got snow here in Boise today too. In fact I was up on a mountain camping when it snowed lol. Hello Winter.
Love this channel
Thank you!!
I like the fire explanation "Like a Hashtag" haha
Gotta speak their language. I don't think she's ever heard of a pound sign lol.
@@Venture2Roam Reminds me of when I was visiting Idaho years ago and and saw a road sign that just said #Fire.
YES! Thank you Will.
🙌👍

Oh no! That sounds terrible. Hope you recovered!!
Great video and I really want to check out that area next time I’m in Idaho!
I hope you do. It's amazing.
It kinda looks like a desert. It's awesome terrain just never thought of Idaho like that.
Idaho is a cool state that way. Lots of desert and lots of forests right next to each other.
I feel like in two weeks I'll be following in the path of greatness... :-) I'm glad Kate's getting better. Thanks for sharing this great adventure...
It was great to have her back on the road with us! Hope you have a total blast!!!
That wrap on your Jeep looks very Eddy VanHalen.
It 100% was inspired by EVH's guitar.

@ thanks! Every tool is great as long as used correctly 😉
What knife were you using to baton with? Love your vids, as a fellow Boisean, it’s great seeing your adventures in our backyard.
Right on, thank you! The knife is an Esse 6. Idaho made.
@@Venture2RoamThought so! Thanks for the reply, see you out there.

Dude, I’ve gotta ask. What brand of hat are you wearing? I have been trying to find those and have had no luck
The hat brand is Melin. Expensive, but the best I’ve ever owned.
