There are alternative options that couples may consider instead of asking for twins. For example, freezing embryos for future use can allow couples to space out their pregnancies and reduce the risk of complications associated with multiple pregnancies. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the percentage of IVF cycles that result in multiple pregnancies has decreased in recent years due to advances in technology and a trend towards transferring fewer embryos.
