Ah Denise, when you mentioned your grandmother's porch I went straight to my grandma's garden! There was an old rusty air-raid shelter at the bottom of the garden, full of old junk, cobwebs with giant spiders and lots of stuff we weren't to play with but of course found fascinating. I can smell the honeysuckle still, and hear the bees. I'm 71 now and last saw gran when I was 17, so it's been a while. Thanks for that reminder Denise, ❤ from Scotland 🏴 - and thanks for your lovely art and conversation too, I really enjoy and appreciate both.
I love that you thought of your grandmother’s garden! My grandmother had a barn full of old interesting stuff. I loved exploring in there! Thank you! 🥰
Oh my gosh, I have to stop watching these videos at 12:45am…😂 now I want to paint instead of sleep! I’m obsessed with this grunge look. Can’t wait to sleep, wake, paint 🥴 I’ll be thinking about this all night now. These are the bomb! Love love love them❤!
Oh wow. I loved how the black charcoal separated and slid over on your first stroke of paint. I loved the fluorescent as well. Please do more of the little ones like this. Also it really is amazing to see the closeups!
Omg the green gold and the ocher with that dark brown charcoal are soo good together!! My favourite modified primary colours are greenish blue and fluo. pink with yellow ocher or a yellow iron oxide; the fluo pink with the ocher makes the most satisfying shade of brilliant orange and now I want to give it a go with green gold to see what happens. I wanted to shout at you when you were trying to get splatters with your round brush!! I looooove my little fan brush for making splatters, it gives me a really lovely spread of little dots without having to really try. Thanks for your video, can’t wait to try out that paper, it looks like it’s worth the investment. Cheers!! 💖💫
Thank you so much Denise, I really really enjoyed watching you create these beautiful and stunning grungy pictures. They are superb too. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤❤
You are CRAZY in the best possible ways. New to your channel and already made a special trip to Blick for some supplies. You are coming out to the craft shed with me and we are going to play and laugh 🤣 Hahaha
I almost wanted to fast forward somewhere toward the middle LOL. I wasn’t loving these….but then….WHOA. … I love them. How crazy is that? You continue to inspire, Denise.
First loved the music at the end. Second I LOVE these! If you had of put a couple numbers or even clock- works stencil on there it would of totally been Steam-Punk. The colors are fabulous! Yep I love me some grunge too!😂🥰
I never thought about those white porch bricks. My grandparents had them but painted theirs beige. When I saw today's thumbnail I screeched with omg look at those colors. When you spattered florescent pink i doubted but after you cut them up, wow they are all really great pieces of art. Now that Halloween is over, its back to get my room organized and get out my supplies. I plan on a art room sit in, lol.
@@2lilowlsstudio If you like a linear spatter, strum the bristles with your thumb from top to bottom. It’s magical! A more delicate touch needed? Try your index finger ever so gently. Happy creating! I just adore your endless creativity given with such joy to us. Thank you!
@@2lilowlsstudio I see. I guess those might make nice gift tags, too. I have a stack of my creations too, and was just fishing for ideas. Hate to see it just sitting there. 🙂
@@julieduncan1996I hang some in my house… send some as cards… tags and gift tags are great… cut some up for art prompt cards… you could sell some too - that just isn’t my goal. 😊
@@2lilowlsstudio Great ideas! I don’t sell my art either. Don’t want to get caught up in that rat race as I already have a more than full time job teaching. Plus, making my avocation into a business would instantly suck every last iota of joy out of it for me. Can’t risk it. 🙂
I thought maybe you would use a stencil that looks like bricks for urban grunge. I didn’t call that one right. Heehee. Also can use non-dominant hand for making scribbles.
I have mixed neon pink with deep violet and orange while gel printing!! Fabulous “WOW “ pop of color that coordinates well with prussian blue, black, turquoise and GOLD!! This was a great session with grungy results that don’t scream, ‘oh geez, look at that hot mess....’🙂 NAILED IT, DENISE🖤
My new motto: "Ride the wave of craziness"
Love your tutorials! They inspire me and push me out of my self inflicted boundaries. Thank you, Denise!

Have you used a toothbrush to spatter? Makes great dots!
