Just to clarify one of the points made in this video.
    Denomination means division.
Denomination is, "a sect, class, or division" and a sect is, "a party dissenting from an established or parent church; a denomination."
    Scripture states
    1 Corinthians 1:10-17
"Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."
When you see Christians arguing on and offline, it will usually be because they have different beliefs due to being from different denominations.
Denominations divide the body of Christ.
People assign themselves to denominations usually through water baptisms.
Now, I'm not discouraging people from having fellowship with other believers. There is absolutely no reason why believers cannot congregate with other believers, One of the reasons that many believers do NOT congregate with others is because they have been segregated by a denomination.
    Take Jehovah Witnesses for example.
Jehovah's Witnesses believe all other religions are part of "Babylon the Great", a "world empire of false religion" under the control of Satan. Consequently, they refuse all ecumenical relations with other religious denominations.
So you will find its not me who is discouraging it, it is the Denominations, and as I said, its all about creating division.
Of course I would encourage people to congregate with other believers, but that is difficult to do and a limited possibility BECAUSE of all the different denominations.

As someone brought up as a Jehovah’s Witness, I can confirm that is so. Adherents are told they have “come into the truth”. Any challenging or questioning of doctrines is viewed as ‘apostate thinking’, and if persisted with will result in ‘disfellowshipping’. This means being cast out of the congregation and being shunned by any relatives or friends you may have had in the faith.

Again hugo has it spot on❤. I was saved, and baptised with the Holy Spirit while on my deathbed. When I confessed my sinfullness from the heart, he healed me, spirituality and physically. Since that day my nature changed, and I now live with a profound sense of peace. Since then I've never considered water baptism necessary. The holy spirt is all you need.

Water baptism can only really come after spiritual baptism...
If you believe then your baptism in the holy spirit is established before you are water baptised... If you are water baptised yet don't already believe, then what kind of baptism is that?
Water baptism as a public display to declare what has already happened in your sprit may make some sense.

Hey Hugo. I also think this emphasis on water baptism tends to conflict with the Biblical doctrine of saved by faith, not by works. One cannot be redeemed just by performing some ritual act. It has to start in the heart. When I was born again it was like an earthquake inside me. It changed me forever. Then afterwards, my son and I were baptized by friends from our home church group (non denominational) in the river nearby. It was just a public statement of our commitment to Jesus. Another problem with an over emphasis on the significance of the water baptism is some folks expect to have some earth shattering encounter right there on the spot. This doesn't happen, they are disappointed and their faith is weakened. Also, I loved how Russel Brand was asking about what denomination he should join 😅 like that's how it works. Of course people will have questions about the different sects but it's not like going out shoe shopping! Plus, he's promoting Hallow and praying the rosary it seems he has already chosen a denomination.

Thank you Hugo. Whilst I believe that water baptism is a personal choice, I also believe that there can be nothing more personal, than a relationship with God, through His precious Holy Spirit. “His (Jesus’s) blood will purify our consciences from useless rituals, so that we may serve the living God”.

Wow….thank you Hugo. This video is so timely for me, literally an answer to my prayers! I have been praying to the Lord about this because as an ex -Catholic who was baptised as a baby, I have been concerned that I need to be water baptised again as an adult, as so many Christian’s channels suggest this is necessary for the Christian walk. I am currently without a church and confused by the numerous denominations, as it hard to know which church is correct. Like you, I have believed for some time that division within Christ’s Church is a device of the devil and I am therefore wary of being deceived again. I have been praying to the Lord to guide me and He has once again answered my prayers. How truly magnificent the Lord is! Thank you Lord Jesus for continuing to bless me with your infinite love and mercy!

Reliance on baptism for salvation because of "water with the word" without proper context treats baptism as an incantation and makes it magick water (as with, quite probably, Russell Brand treating it as an occultic mystical experience). The true believer's baptism MUST involve repentance, and then baptism is a testimony.
" They overcame by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony."
Babies are unable to repent and make a choice. The ceremony of sprinkling or pouring water on an infant is fine for a dedication, But that is not a believer's baptism, and it does not make you a member of God's kingdom. However, there are true believers that were sprinkled as infants who are saved. Baptism does not save you. Baptism is obedience.
This is why baptism follows belief ( those who believe and are baptized will be saved.... And it goes on to say get those who do not believe will be damned...) as it is about the belief, and baptism is an obedient testimony of that belief.
There will be people who are saved that have never been baptized.

I don't go to a church but i got baptised about 6weeks ago through a church at a swimming pool I've not been back to the church. i just did it because i wanted to i can't say it changed me in any way but i do feel if anyone wanted to be baptised I'm more than qualified to do it .I am happy i did it and i don't believe it saves me.

I was born again and baptised by the Holy Spirit in 2023. I wanted to be baptised in the River Jordan by a fellow believer, but unfortunately that wasn't going to be possible. So last Sunday I was baptised in a local church as a public declaration of my faith and trust in Jesus as my Lord and saviour. However, I don't feel the need to subscribe to the denomination of that particular church. I see myself as a child of God choosing to fellowship with other believers and followers of Christ. Baptism by water is not what gifts us salvation, but when a person is evidently born again and receives the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, water baptism is a beautiful and meaningful outward declaration that a person believes, follows and trusts in Jesus Christ.

John 16:25 says “These things have I spoken to you in proverbs, but the time cometh when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs , but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.” Jesus is saying that once you have the Holy Spirit and you are listening to him and reading his word (and only him) then he will teach you plainly. Just like the Pharisees misinterpreted scripture, the church also does so today because we are not letting him speak to us plainly. Jesus said, he who believes in me shall never thirst. Water = belief. The word baptize means to immerse in. So the beginning of your relationship begins with you being immersed in belief . I can testify this happened to me and it was a free gift. It was instant and I did nothing to deserve it. This is the grace or divine influence from the Father on the heart. In Acts 19, you see Paul coming into Ephesus and finding disciples and he asks them if they have the Holy Ghost and they reply they haven’t so much as heard if there be a Holy Ghost and he asks, “unto what then were ye baptized? And they replied the baptism of John. Then Paul goes on to explain how John baptized saying unto the people that they should believe on him which would come after him. Now, I know many people will ask , well then what was Jesus doing when he came up out of the water. Well, i can say this , he definitely already believed and he wasn’t washing sin away. The reason he did so is hard to hear, meaning its hard to understand. There is much that needs to be said , and knowing that most are still babes in Christ, only getting milk, never maturing to meat, it makes it harder to explain in a few sentences. But essentially, in Genesis 15 you see God making a covenant with Abraham (you need to read this ) A covenant is made my passing between two pieces of flesh. This is why marriage is a man becoming one flesh with a woman. Man, today, says its when you say vows in front of a preacher and you get a license. God has never changed his mind on this. Man has changed the laws. Again, this is very hard to hear. But essentially when Jesus broke forth out of the water, it was like a birth figuratively. A covenant made with Abraham and his seed finally coming into the world and there was the Father looking at him saying this is my son in whom I am well pleased. Just like any father that is there when their child comes into the world. And then it says the Holy Spirit came down on him like a dove. A dove because when Noah released a dove after the flood that final time, it didn’t return because it founds its resting place. This was the symbolism here. The Holy Ghost found it’s resting place in Jesus. But folks, bottom line, you have to stop listening to pastors and people on youtube. You gotta read your bibles with the Holy Ghost guiding you. Then Jesus will speak to you plainly.

You didn't have to explain that , baptism is clearly a work we are clearly saved by grace through faith in Christ and his gospel not by any kind of works Christ paid it all , proper water baptism is a public affirmation that you have been saved nothing more , eternal salvation is a free gift it cannot be earned repeat cannot be earned .

The key issue I believe is that it can only diminish your faith if you get the water baptism before the holy spirit, as you can never then be sure if you got it through faith alone, hence why they push for babies to be water baptized. It is to get them into denominations (which divide the body of Christ) but also to plant the seed of doubt in their minds that if they ever get the holy spirit in their life, they can never be 100% sure it came through faith alone, they will always wonder if it had something to do with the water baptism as there will be no way of reversing that.

@@HugoTalksA baby has no say in that that has to be sorted out later when you're an adult , been given the gospel ( God will make sure that will happen ) then the rest is up to the individual all of us has been given light by God it's up to us to respond to it remember God wants no one to perish , in the end eternal salvation is as simple as it gets , I was a catholic for over 40 years I was baptised three weeks after I was born I have the certificate to prove it 😁 , but if you're a truth seeker God will not let you down he will give you the light that is needed to find out what's true ( the gospel included ) ,

After reading Acts 1, I too started questioning water baptism. Because Jesus says in verse 5… “For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.” The disciples were then baptized with the fire of the Holy Spirit. No water was used.
I started looking at water baptism different from being baptized with the Holy Spirit. The way the churches do water baptisms now seemed to be an outlet to publicly declare their belief in the Messiah. But none of them really focus on the spiritual gifts aspect.
I had a lot of pushback when I would try to discuss this w/other Christians. They didn’t even wanna have a conversation about it.

Mine wasnt traumatic but as an adult and an escapee of mormonism i made a choice to be baptised again, only that time it was my decission and not forced upon me by my parents.
I could be totally wrong but if baptism is not needed why then did satan try to kill me on my way there. I had to crawl into church i was being attacked so bad.

Thank you Hugo for another great talk. I think baptism (by immersion) is a seal of a personal choise to follow Jesus. It can cause a powerfull effect in the spiritual realm, separating someone from severe dark powers. At some point in my life I was baptised like "whatever, let's just go for it" but over time I sensed an overall difference in my christian walk before and after baptism. Also I know at least three christians who heard God say (not people) to get baptised, which made me wonder. Like Holy Supper, Baptism doesn't replace repentance and salvation, yet it is recommended in the Bible. It's a statement, that you no longer belong to the world / the demonic realm but to Jesus only - like a wedding ring represents an asthonishing covenenant, yet the ring in itself is just a piece of metal. Something happens if you seriously want to belong to Jesus and conceal this by baptism: God will truly bless this. Just as He strengthens us by His resurrection and the cleansing power of His blood when we take Holy Supper very seriously. We life by faith not deeds, yet faith may be followed by God inspired deeds, including Baptism. A genuine baptisms always make me aware of Gods presence as He touches the persons involved.

Very well put. I agree and have always sensed this truth- now I realise how when a few years ago I was aware of a sort of pressure to follow suit at my Hampstead Church SJDH (public adult Baptism suddenly trended before Sunday services, towels, flip flops, rounds of applause etc) but apart from my natural restraint/dignity I felt unconvinced. Baptism of the Spirit happens privately. Should be intimate. Tho' a public demonstration can be pure of intention too. (P.s. immersion in water, lake, sea, even pools or daily shower can be cleansing and private reconnection with Him too, try it)

A few comments here. Water baptism for infants, of the Catholic Church, is in my opinion, not a part of the Christian faith. It's not anywhere in the Bible. And as you mentioned, it also has the issue where people as older children, teenagers or adults who were water baptised, can erroneously consider themselves 'saved by Christ' due to their water baptism as an infant. I have no issues with the 'child dedication' of other denominations, where the parents publicly declare they will do their best to raise their child in the ways of God: that is just a declaration that the parents understand the importance of good parenting and being Christ-like in their parenting (as much as is humanly possible of course).
Infant baptism in the Catholic Church is also highly profitable: one of my siblings have had their babies 'baptised' and at one of these 'ceremonies' the priest joked about how he once cost the parish a fairly decent sum of money by dropping the recently blessed 'holy water' all over the floor, and how that caused an issue as the 'blessing priest' was only available in a few months' time for more 'blessing of water'. That's very odd to say the least.
Re adult baptism: the way I've always seen it, is that it is an outward action to represent what has taken place in the heart. Baptism is not an act of salvation, but I have heard that the public exaltation of Christ can also bring you to spiritual attack, due to your outward proclamation: something I don't think the church in general (regardless of denomination) speaks about. Water baptism as adults can be considered re John The Baptist and of course Phillip & the Ethiopian: but as you correctly said, it's not a condition of salvation though. And I hadn't considered (until hearing your perspective on this), that water baptism for adults can have the potential for a 'cult-like' membership result, where the person may remain at the church they are baptised due to what is said to be the 'most positive public experience a Christian can go through, aka water baptism'. Whereas in reality, water baptism is just an outward declaration of what has already occurred, and hopefully our best memories living with Christ are yet to come, for example by witnessing to others about God, or seeing God move in others' lives or our own. :-)

There is one baptism and that’s the baptism Paul’s referring to, the spiritual baptism.
However for good conscience the Bible says we do it for God.
It’s not necessarily necessary, but it is out of respect for God that we do it, not to be saved.

I remember some organisation coming along to the beach and "baptising" people in the sea. I always thought it was exceptionally weird, but I was just a kid, so what did I know. Much like with going into churches when I was a kid, it just felt "wrong" to me in my stomach somehow and I had no idea why. I always just talked to God at home, in the quiet. The whole Sunday best and women being nasty about other people's clothes - nope, that also feels wrong, each to their own, it's not for me. I know (but obviously don't remember it!!!) that I was christened at the local Methodist chapel but I never had my son christened because, well, it just didn't sit right with me. He would choose his own path in his own time and in the meantime, we as parents just tried to teach him right from wrong as best we could. There are people who have been christened, or "baptised", who are (at least on the surface) not at all interested in God, and then there are those who weren't christened but who most definitely ARE interested in God. A man in some robes putting a bit of water on a baby's head doesn't make any difference to the baby's path in life, in my humble opinion. Often people seem to give power to the preacher, pastor, vicar, etc, etc, but I think, they are just men (or women these days of course), they aren't God. So why not just have a direct chat with God instead, behind closed doors is fine, we don't need to go out in public and make a big show of ourselves. But we're all different, I've never been one to enjoy having any kind of limelight. Some people who go out and preach in public, well good on them, I have a lot of respect for them, spreading the word. I know I haven't got the ability to connect with people like that - I'm not very good with social stuff. Sorry, a bit of a ramble there - social awkwardness showing a bit!

What do you think Jesus means by water in regards to John 4 14 "But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."
Water is a symbol of the holy spirit, of the teachings of Jesus, which is why if you follow Jesus you will never thirst. He's not talking about literal water.
Now go back and look at Acts 10 47 and apply it to that and you can see what it means.

as always, I really like to hear your views, and you make good points. I recently baptized a friend, and its like a tool in our hands, if used right, it helps me to get a feelgood feeling, and it makes the baptized feel 'in the right state of mind', feel like getting ' the attention from God' now through the act of waterbaptism. But we should never be deterministic about waterbaptism. Its a nice tool to have, that helps people, but its NOT life or death. Holy spirit IS life or death.

I was baptised as a baby, and I think it was done with Holy water or water blessed by a priest. This was a touch of water. I don't think being dunked into the Thames is the same thing.I think a lot of these baptism's are being done for viewer clout.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit is what happens when you get saved. You are filled and baptized. The circumcision made without hands. The soul separated from the sins of the flesh.

Baptism was a form of legal requiment of thevLaw; a precept for ceremonial cleansing.
The old Covenant shows how the Most High instructed this ritual ; to Cleanse oneself.
John the Immerser was for shadowing the Holy Spirit.
Again the ceremonial water in the limestone Jugs poured out not water, but wine ( blood of Yahshua) ; we are covered and Saved by the blood, and washed in the Spirit.
Those that Confess with their mouth, and Believe in their Hearts in the death, ressurection of Yahshua, will be Saved.
So we then are to worship The Most High El in Spirit and in Truth.
    Amen, Amen.🙌🏾🙏🏾

Sorry Hugo youtube keeps leaving these comments open and i can not close them! youtube or google wiped my last comments, i said water baptism would be unfair to people with certain illness and disability's and even the people with a fear of water? Would God do that? i think no.

This video made me think of all the celebrity deaths in bathtubs and music videos like britneys. Also made me think of Constantine when he holds her down in the bathtub and the pool where lucifer and gabriel come through.

Think about this Hugo - everyone of these ministers only repeat the instruction, but never have I've heard anyone executing the instruction - not once have I heard anyone using the Holy Names of the Father(YHWE) and the Son (YASHUA) , and the Holy Spirit (the RUACH)

If you take the word "again" from born again, back to the Greek, it means from above. Which tells us we cannot enter as the fallen angels did, who chose not to be born of woman and have no chance of salvation.
Ex 34:19 The LORD said; All that openeth the matrix is mine. Matrix being the womb. Jesus bought and paid the debt of our souls on the cross. We are his, unless we chose to enter as the fallen ones did.
Gen 1:26 And God said "Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. We were with God when he said this. Jesus was in God's image and we each come in our own image.
