Thanks for doing this review but I have to disagree with you. The Arcteryx is a Military and LE oriented bag. It is light and doesn't have many gadgets that get in the way or snag on things. The harness system is amazing and minimal padding on a small bag is great to keep the heat down since you don't need the padding on such a small bag. The solid back also keeps tactical equipment from pushing into your back. It is made of impressive material and anyone who owns any Arcteryx products will attest that their items are second to none. I appreciate that the lower price is of concern. That is hard to argue but I would not consider the Khard a camping bag.
Nice review. However, you are incorrect about most of your statemetns. The Arcteryx is NOT a camping pack. Its was designed specifically for LE and Military applications. The 500D Cordura they use is a much tighter weave which is lighter and more water resistant. The "stiff" frame support is removable, yet when in place gives the weight transfer required to carry the load on your hips instead of shoulders. Also heavy and odd shaped items do not poke you in the back. After seeing that both packs were provided to you by vanquest, its clear you are pushing the IBEX. An unbiased review would be nice
suspension: fill it with military equipment (optics, ammo, batteries, comms etc.) and man, you wish you hat the arcteryx pack as nothing kills your back and it rides pretty sweet with heavy loads

When Vanquest products are made in Taiwan and like they say in their website "we use many materials and parts made in USA", which i dont like at all because i cant be sure which things are high quality and which are cheap chinese stuff. Arc'teryx is also big name in LE and Military circles because its quality is second to none! Also these days light weight is the key feature in military and Arc'teryx Khard 30 weights 85 grams less than Vanquest IBEX-30 its not much but every gram counts when u r trying to drop the weight down. If someone is worried about 500D cordura i can tell you that 1000D is way overkill in backpack like these are. And also i have find out those molle web panels all around the bags are mostly just useless, you want to keep your stuff inside the bag and in balance when you r carrying alot of weight. Those daisy chains and bungee cords are way more useful since u can put your rainy gear out side of the bag for easy access and it also dry out when its not raining for example. In the end i want to say that if you are poor man (like me) you can not buy the bad quality.

I have not owned Vanquest but alot of products that have assebled here and there and the only product I would trust in the situation when I jump in pitch black darkness at 18 000 feet, would be made in USA. Any life time quarantee doesnt mean shit if u lost your life (or a leg) because of bad stiching for example. In everyday use I could say the Vanquest can be a good choice since its not going to be pushed to its limits or even near but if u r looking for a bag to military or similar use the Arc'teryx is your choice. I personaly dont own the Khard series backpacks, atm im using FastPack LiteSpeed from Triple Aught Design as my EDC backpack and FirstSpear ECP for all military kind of stuff, both made in USA. But what comes to Arc'teryx I am happy customer of their LEAF series garments. Like rain, extraction and combat gear. And if someday I would need a bigger backpack for non civilian use I would go for Khard series.

See the word "many". As far as I know it should be "ALL" if everything would be made in USA materials. Well for peace of mind they also mentioned earlier in that text they use genuine Cordura, YKK, ITW and Duraflex. But for me it seems like they move the factories to countries which have cheaper workforce and aim to lower prices than high end products like Arc'teryx so they can maximise their incomes. Well the Arc'teryx made their products to meet the highest requirements for military personnel and they get much more income when military operators keep doing orders. By that i mean those those units which dont actualy have a budget :)

The Khard 30 is made of 500D Cordura! They made it 500D because it has proven in action it is strong enough and is lighter than 1000D Cordura.
