Looking for some advice , my 1 series driver side mirror glass wobbles excessively when driving , the faster I go , more it wobbles . But feels firm to the touch on inspection. This even happens when the adjustment switch is turned to the passenger side. It has been progressively getting worse over months. Maybe a loose screw or nut somewhere? Or damaged part?
    Thanks

Ive just replaced the black supporting surround on my 3 series. The black part has 4 screws in it torx t10 size that hold the black part to the metal part inside the mirror. Then the back casing clips to the black supporting part you just pinch the clips in. So could be a clips come loose or one of them screws if anything to do with that.
If its purely just the glass. The glass holds on to a round circle you see in this video. It has clips all around the back of the actual glass and then clip over that black ring you see in the video. It could be some of them clips are broke or it might need a little push just to clip it back on properly again. Make sure put pressure on the whole mirror surface not just 1 spot as might crack but does take a little push for it to clip back on.

@@Hitman-os1spyeah it is purely the glass , and I see what you mean with the circle on the video. I don’t suspect anything insides broken as I haven’t fiddled with it before it started wobbling , and nothings hit it as far as I know. Worse case , I can come back to this video if/when I break something while messing with it 😅

I would maybe just try pushing it back on till you hear a faint pop as its probably just not seated properly.
The only other thing if your feeling confident is to get a plastic prying tool and pop the glass off and then click it back on. I pushed the middle part of the glass mirror with 4 fingers to spread the weight distribution. I hardly do a thing on my car and managed this. Bmw wanted £70 fit the black supporting ring and keep the car a whole day. Which is total madness.

@@Hitman-os1spI gave it a little push and seems to have done the trick , took it for a spin and wobbling has almost completely gone . And yeah they do like to overprice , mine failed on an MOT because headlight misalignment , they wanted £600 for replacing my n/s headlight. Looked at a video on TH-cam and realigned them myself , cost me about 45 minutes and a bit of frustration lol, then passed.

@@alexfogliati9473you can take it out. The glue only holds the pin on the glass, the entire connection is not glued in one place

1:55 Sorry but what’s the name of the tool shown here? Closed captions isn’t really helping in this case.
