I just built a 383 stoker and put in the 08-411-08 Comp cam. The reason a 4x4 doesn't want a cam that's loppy is because in low gear, on an incline you don't want that engine to stall. a big cam requires more foot in the gas pedal to keep moving and we don't need that when trying to get that guy out of a tight spot. I LOVE your blazer....outstanding job!!
Put that cam in a 351w with gt40p heads, little over 9 to 1 compression. Went in a mud truck, turning 44's with 5.30 gears I believe. Very strong runner.
Been eyein the xtreme 4x4 218 cam. Just ordered up the k-kit, soon ill swap in “new” heads. Hope my oil burnin v7 starts runnin like a truck motor should
+Christopher Cordasco The RPM range is 1000-5300 RPM of that I really only use the bottom end just driving around, but will go pretty good when you get on the gas, these are good for a truck with stock heads and bottom end cause they don't rev out as much
Has good torque feels close to stock off the bottom, really just wakes the motor up a good bit, I got mine for like $180 bucks online, they recommend getting new lifters when you change the cam so you will probably want to get those if you want to do this to your truck, thanks!!
+RD Cards Yea I put in lifters, they were only like $100 on JEGs they are crower, you have to take the lifters out anyway when doing the cam, they just slide in and out
you should always replace a cam and lifters as a set. Those components wear match to each other and if old lifters are used with a new cam your likely to ruin the new cam.
+Marcus Harper they are a true dual setup with flow master mufflers, I have since put in cutouts before the mufflers that I can uncap which will straight pipe it.

I heard that this cam doesn't drain gas mileage that much is that true? And did too end change somewhat by the way good looking truck man

Run the biggest one and a 2000 stall converter I've built many engines small block chevy and Ford's and a big block ford and they all rip !!
