If you look at the first two goals, clearly you can see which player was at fault. There was no marking, no pressure on the Japanese player crossing and no initiative to even find ways to tackle the Japanese player. This is Urawa Red Diamond and not Young Lions. I'm not saying Lion City Sailors can beat Daegu and Shandong but I don't think that's impossible, right?

J.League clubs have a clear direction on which nationals the foreign players they sign. For example, Urawa Reds has gone to the Scandinavia. Vissel Kobe is leaning towards Spain, Yokohama F. Marinos and Kashima Antlers to Brazil, Gamba Osaka to Brazil and South Korea, and Nagoya to Australia and Eastern Europe.
So they don’t waste their time to create chemistry each other.

Saw the highlights. The 2 early goals could have been avoided. Gabriel Quak didn't mark his man, let both crosses come in easily and was rightfully subbed off early.

this is the problem of Afc. why would points system be a fair guage to qualify into the the group stage. Singapore is clearly not Afc champions League team. is mafia $$$ they pay to the Afc to get in

It's due to COVID 19,Afc expand the number of participants. Only 2 countries in Afc deserve to go to group stage and that is Vietnam and Thailand. The rest of ASEAN is crap and go through qualification stage

Sadly, LCS will struggle in J2. The top half of J2 has a lot of quality teams.
Results don't tell you everything, we will finish top 5 without a doubt

If LCS wants to play decently in AFC, they probably need a strong holding midfielder. Shahdan and Anu are good players in the SEA region, but at AFC level, they aren't so effective.

Poor showing from LCS. I'm not sure what the coaching staff are doing but they haven't improved in the past 11 months since the new coach came in. They look short of fitness... not tracking back, and the defence is out of shape.

2 there’s a thing call seeding favouring strong clubs, which is something common across the world. Is it unfair? Surely, it’s designed to be, and it should be like that. What’s the point of weak clubs playing against each other? What do you learn as weak clubs then? Even if Indian clubs are placed in the east region, they will still only face clubs from japan korea australia and china (which would have been stronger if they don’t field the ridiculously young teams).
if you are playing in East Asia, you won't play against Singapore club. You'll be taking the Singapore club playing against top teams from Japan, South Korea or Australia. The only lucky thing is you'll be playing against weakened Chinese club.

not bullshit. The SAFF region just sucks except the Indian. Asean club is the only East Asian who won the AFC Cup. Otherwise, it is the west Asian who won the cup every year. Just look how other SAFF members fare in AFC Cup. They sucks, hence why many Asean teams join the ACL. Plus, historically, the Asean clubs already played regularly since the ACL is introduced. One of them even managed to reach the Final and many of them managed to play in R16 or even Quarter Final. It is an accumulation of points over years.
