Hi Susie I live in Auckland New Zealand, I’ve been following you for a while and absolutely love you beautiful calming narration. Today’s video has me bursting with absolute pride, being fortunate to be surrounded by such beauty. We purchased a Lockwood house (tongue & groove) a few years ago. It’s in a rural location and she sits amongst 150 Olive trees on top of a hill with views of Auckland in all directions. Acquiring it was quite serendipitous after my husband and I road tripped France & Italy (+ countries) for nearly 2 months, in 2015, I was blown away by the ancient olive trees as well as amazing architecture At the moment our home is in chaos as we’ve (I have) decided to paint the interior White. I just can’t decorate brown walls😊. I’ve been excitedly curating furniture, furnishings & lighting and I’m beyond excited to put it all back together again. Thank you so much for this amazing and timely video from which I will borrowing many ideas. Love all your videos.
Wow I feel so excited for you undertaking this project and how serendipitous to find a place that had all those beautiful features found in the European countryside! Ancient olive trees and ancient architecture has such a visually pleasing effect on the senses! I would Love to continue to hear how your renovation goes. Suzie x

I’ve been watching and loving your videos since lockdown. I live in NZ and adopted French style as Victorian Villas and Bungalows are far more common in NZ. Modern NZ architecture is unique, bespoke, stunning and also very expensive.
I do love the mix of architectural styles across NZ from beautiful weatherboard cottages to modern stone, steel and glass structures and in between! The NZ landscape is second to none! How lucky to call N Z home! Thanks for your support. Suzie x
I have noticed over the years with architecture particularly, many Kiwis possess an abundance of style, often eclipsing what is seen in Oz, particularly re their products and range, which are often unusual and high end. My observation leads me to believe they are not afraid to indulge this characteristic and the results are clearly on show. Beautiful collection, thanks for posting

I love the way the NZ lodge style has been presented, showcasing the wide open spaces and scenery which I'm so familiar with. Incorporating natural materials such as stone and wood into the decor and architecture works so well. Plus other details, such as the little kiwis and other kiwiana, add the finishing touches.
I appreciate that feedback a lot! The natural surroundings truly are breathtaking and while it is always a challenge to present a style that pertains to a particular area it is great to hear that we did it justice xx
I grew up near where Frank Lloyd Wright was born and spent much time in buildings and residences that have very similar looks. It remains one of my favorite architectural styles. However, flat roofs are best in non snow areas. Although I've never been to NZ it seems familiar and makes one think of how small this earth really is. Thanks for the tour!
@@suzieandersonhome My birthplace is Rockford, Illinois. Wright designed a wheel chair accessible home there named the Laurent house. Many more structures in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin, some by students, but all with similar design, including my church and first college. That area was used to many feet of snow every winter and upkeep on these structures has proven to be a financial struggle. My engineer father and builder grandfather just shook their heads every time they saw one.

I once had neighbors from NZ. It's no wonder the people there are outdoorsy. I cannot imagine having scenery like that! The homes and furnishings communicate that. I love those wall size windows. I mean who needs wall art when you have that view!
