Would give anything to be able to buy that thing nowadays. The C-130 is something I've been promising myself for years now. Glad you've taken such good care of it over the years.
Great conversion to brushless! I think a few of us would'nt mind a few more details like mounting the motors in the nacelles and flap cutting into the wing etc. I think most of us know how to build, just need a few of the highlights to proceed. Heck how about a mini how to if you have time? Thanks so much for bringing back a plane from yesteryear.
I don’t fly much UMX at all because I avoid Spektrum at all cost, I used to replace the nano gear in UMX birds for S-FHSS systems but it is an expensive headache - I do miss the micro’s but if I have another radio failure whilst flying Spektrum I’ll have only myself to blame. I have a GWS Herc in the workshop, I planned to convert it to the C160 Transall but yours has me thinking.
@@flymachine not sure what could have been causing issues. I fly nothing but spektrum. Have been for years. I think ive only lost 1 umx. And that was on a oooold dx6
@@hechtspeed I was once rebuilding and repairing models as a side hustle and 70% of the rebuilds were due to spektrum failure or glitches, this is not a brand bash I just know not to fly it personally - Futaba has never once let me down even flying ultra high altitude gliders never for a nano second did I lose signal. Spektrum's old 'silver' range (i and E series) were the main culprits but I have seen big foamies go in due to radio issues. Once is too much for me. Im glad it works for you, I would hate to see one of your works of art lost or damaged due to radio. Happy landings
@@flymachine its been my experience...that alot of pilot errors are blamed on radio problems lol. I fly way too much and domt have any issues for it to be considered good luck lol. But everybody is certainly welcome to their opinions. :)

That is so cool! I was a C-130 crew chief in the USAF back in the day and that looks just like the real thing haha. Nice job!
Love the Iron Eagle shirt, but yeah...I don't do white t-shirts usually either! Lol. DANG that thing flies so good! Love the flat turns.
@@ModelAV8RChannel nice benefit of as3x+ lolol. Thing is a riot
Nice to see this one again, hope the event goes great. AH..

Great flight . Could you let me know what umx motors and speed controllers you are using. Have one of the inbuilt on my stash
@@Nictaquick id use the newer motors from the turbo timber. And a 8 to 10a esc would be fine :) be sure to add flaps. Totally changes the model
