imho I always thought old FF games (except VI) paled in comparison to other jrpg games released for the same consoles, like dragon quest and lufia, be it in terms of gameplay, soundtrack or overall enjoyment. I never played mystic quest though and I'm quite curious now
@@daps1812 Same. I sometimes have it stuck in my head without remembering where it's from and keep thinking it's a MegaMan game before going "Oh, right! Lufia."
drain? you mean boost. lol. like every boss starting with that wizard ontop of that tower would cast AoE spells every single turn which forced you to devote one of your casters to spamming Boost.
@@Dhalin The Dark Ghost's tier 2 water magic was pretty bad to deal with, too. Granted, I don't think it would be feasible to have Boost by then, considering how far you still have to go from there to even get the ship.
For some reason, this theme really hit me as a kid when you fight Gades in Sharan. For a while I used to think it was his theme until I realized it was for most boss battles. That heavy base is what I love most about it. Horns, base guitar, and cymbals clashing.
Not many snes percussion tracks get up to the MegaMan 2 nes level but this soundtrack has always been heavily underappreciated.... It should have become as iconic as the osts from many peers... Can't help but feel like the overall franchise mismanagement and ultimate failure are a big part of the reason. And they started out so strongly, a great game and better sequel, only to falter instead of charge ahead.
As a kid, 0:43 - 0:54 always gave me goosebumps, especially when using powerful magic like thunder or vulcan to finish off the boss. It was just epic.
I loved how this game had some rocking boss themes, reminds me a lot of Final Fantasy Mystic Quests soundtrack.
Loved that game too
Mystic Quest was a mediocre game with a soundtrack that can only be described as legendary. Shame Sasai only did a few games.

@@Pao-vo8mf it's a Final Fantasy made for the west, aside from being simple and short and easy to clear, it IS very enjoyable for what it is.
The Mystic Quest soundtrack deserved to be in a mainstream Final Fantasy.
This theme would fit right in Megaman VII
agreed, first time I heard it I thought about Junk-Man stage

For a sec it reminded me of Burstman's theme
yea
*sounds of frantic Drain casting*
Dude fr tho!

Una de las mejores músicas de pelea sin duda
Whenever i listen to this i always think of the 4 sinistrals and there flashy aura lol, both beginning and end
Besides ffiv boss theme this is the best
Best boss theme ever
This game had VERY underrated music. It was really up there with chrono trigger
Sounds like the Junk Man stage theme from Megaman 7
How? You're not the only one saying that, but I've heard both BGMs for most of my life and I never heard any connection...
For some reason, this is the Final Boss theme in Curse of the Sinistrals.
Well at least the "The on who will save the world" OST kicks in in Curse of the Sinistrals end.
Homage purposes, pretty cool actually. They Homage a lot of Lufia II SNES music in there too.
@@Operations1000 yeah, but like, why not Guard Daos?
@@TsukiStuffs You bring up a good point actually. After all, the fight is against Guard Daos.
@@devonm042690 Well, it's just against Daos, but still
Nostalgia total 😎✌️

reminds me of junkman's theme from mega man 7.
brony simpson I smell a ripoff
If that's the case then Megaman 7 ripped off this theme
Same composer

198 to 0 becusae of me alright.
A video with no dislikes :o I guess this theme would play if anyone did so they'd be fucked lol
God the bosses in this game are so cheap
like guardian with no boost spell. makes it virtually impossible to beat him.
Ah cool.. it’s not lgtbq colours haha
