Nash is charming and both he and Eliza have a good relationship with one another (he's not duke and I will be very upset if that happens) but I really do feel like things are changing. I think they will bring duke back at the very end of the show and eventually they will be together. Stuart Martin will not return for season 5 of Ms. Scarlott but Flex Scott is returning for season 5. I think Stuart Martin was playing to leave the show by season 3 and that is why Patrick Nash was introduced in season 3. I am excited for the return of season 5 and the whole cast especially Flex Scott
I love this awesome job 👏 Eliza and Patrick relationship is so unique and special because he sees her as an equal and a partner he’s not trying to mold her to fit the status quo or have society’s approval.. I’m a die hard Will and Eliza fan but I truly love how Patrick treats her
Last two episodes of s4 made me fall in love with them (friends or partners - doesn't matter). I adored Eliza's speech about Patrick being the only person who sees her for who she is and understands her struggles. That exceptional mutual understanding makes all of their interactions special to me. And also I genuinely love how both of them have been told there're pathological liers. They lost their loved ones because they were too good and honourable, they both made themselves, they're also stubborn, naturally curious, proud and ambitious to the point they become dangerous to themselves. Also they both seem to be uninterested in a conventional way of life, like marrying or having kids. I love William and Eliza as a final couple (especially after the episode with their meet cute 12 years ago) but Eliza and Patrick... I don't know, the way they work together and get excited over the same things and those precious moments of sincerity. It's just different.

I've since watched many of Felix Scott's work and Patrick Nash is definitely the most winningest role for him. He can easily carry a series on his own, preferably R or X rated with a long variety of romantic possibilities.

I thought the last three épisodes of show the with both Eliza and Patrick were a true delight. Did anyone notice how Patrick got Eliza to take a day off work and go to the races with him ? Something William never did. Watching Cécile watching the interactions between Eliza and Patrick was so funny the three actors were so in sinc and funny. I am keeping my fingers crossed for season 5 but i have a sad feeling this may not happen due to money. The way season 4 ending tells me maybe not unless enough fans demand another season as we fans did for Sanditon.

Not all of NY was gilded. Certainly, not for the life Wm was headed. The city for the most part was crammed with people, many immigrants. It grew very quickly and funds weren't available for proper housing, infrastructure, sanitation, schools. But, Wm would prefer the excitement of a new world with possiblities for all. If there was a place to go to heal a broken heart, NY would likely be it.
That last part, that's a really good point, and I did notice it too. William was her obligatory "in" with Scotland Yard, but now her relationships with Phelps(!) and Fitzroy (such a sweetie) can fill that role.
How very sad to replace William (The Duke) with this guy, who draws no interest at all. What will the show be called now; Miss Scarlet and Private Dick?? Moving on.
