Humans also have melatonin but it just helps us sleep. It is a natural hormone and you can also get melatonin pills if you have trouble sleeping. Melatonin often causes vivid dreams as well.

This video isn't entirely correct, and a bit misleading. The phenotypic expression of arctic hares is the other way around; cold temperatures make the hare turn WHITE, not black. This provides camouflage in the snow, and as there is no melanin in the hair shaft, the air pockets in the hairs provide more insulation.
