The state of HE and hesh rn is genuinely depressing, maus can be one tapped no aim, and most American heavy’s have to fight M109 spam basically making them useless, getting 1 slapped by HE is so annoying

HESH is indeed back to being good, but we have yet to return to the HESH IS BESH era of Thunder.
Some may even say the BESH era of Thunder.
It's actually garbo unless it's used on us heavy roofs outside the fv even the conways is garbo
@@jububoobaroo67 Thats why I said its no longer BESH, it is useful as it normalizes better than HE but seeing on how HE is broken due to Volumetric, it isn't perfect. HESH needs to be aimed for specific points now, cant just point and delete anymore.
@@SoldierChamorro I recently got the Doom Barn, and so far it is pretty much just point and click. There are certain superheavies that I have to watch for, but for the majority I just bonk them back to the hangar.
its pretty good, mainly because its one of the only vehicles in the british tree that has the ability to ohko targets reliably, and the only one at its BR.

This is fine. The much smaller IS-152s already DELETED ferdinands on hitting the casemate armor. Against fv4005 it should stand NO chance.
I had a FV4005 HESH round bounce off the front of a jagdtiger, a while back. That was not fun

I appreciate that Dollar feels bad about multi killing people, and shooting them as they leave the spawn area..
And I like that he apologizes (even though you only hear it if you watch his videos and it's in there).
I am assuming you were the USSR player at 11:30.
The first kill let you know he was there.
The second kill you were a map grid square away from your spawn, charging madly across the open ground, and you had already shot at him.. So not really spawn camping..
I can understand if you were annoyed that the wreck ate your shot (hit boxes can be jank).
But if you were "furious" about being taken out a second time by the same player, maybe next time take a deep breath and don't charge across open ground back to the same area to try get the person who just blew you up.. (though some maps give you little to no choice on the open ground thing..).
The above is me trying to offer perspective and advice, not trying to have a go at you.

FINALLY. Been nagging on the issue council for ages.
Long-story short: HESH was bugged and would only deal a single type of damage. For example: Hits front plate of Tiger and pens? = Spalling only. Hits area it can't pen? = HE effect (barely 61mm, but that's Gaijin """balance""").
Now HESH is dealing *both* Spalling and HE, like it's supposed to... you know: **High Explosive** Squash Head.
It's a big improvement
I dont really see HE effect in protection analysis when shooting Tiger 2H for example. Shooting turret results only in spall damage.
@@pedrosanciny6345 tiger 2 has some weird debuff for HE on turret areas that will kill in pen tester but not in game. the pen tester is not same as in-game.

I hated back just yesterday, when heash sometimes worked like HE, like when you hit tracks, but when you hit armor it forgot everything and became a bad heat.
6:10 you know the force when that 183mm, 72.57kg shell with a whopping 716m/s leaves the gun barrel, and throws away that 59.5 tons of pure steel monster like a toy lolz
The problem with HESH is that most of the times when it hits something it can pen normally (eg. FV4005 hitting Tiger II turret cheek) it doesn't overpressure. So u end up having pretty much bad APHE on a long reload. U have to intentionally hit something that's thicker than 228mm (Raw or effective) to OP the crew through the roof of the tank (eg. FV4005 hitting Tiger II mantlet)
Yeah, it's very frustrating.
But if it did manage to pen, shouldn't it just blow up right at the opening and releasing all 20kg of explosive inside through opening instead of just rely on the shockwave? So it should be even more leathal than no pen?
Overpressue mechanic doesnt rely on HESH pen, it rely on explosive pen (standart he). HESH penetration means will be there fragments or no. So you must use it like standart HE shells
@@bratzk my understanding is that if it meets the pen value it behaves like HEAT from the prot analysis I've seen. So if you hit a 'thick' part and fail to pen it can be a oneshot from overpressure, yet a few inches over it's a crappy heat. Smarter people than me might be able to explain why this is realistic but it strikes me as video-game physics. This is why you have things like the first kill in the video where Dollar apparently doesn't even hit the target, but it's close enough the overpressure from the HE explosion does the job.

Something funny about FV4005 is that when you hit the tracks even from the front it quarantees a kill on almost every tank. (the exception is Strv 103)
Dollar is da best WT blogger. No annoying guides. No boring & dumb numbers (we can chech 'em by ourselves via game in case u seriously need it). Just pure gameplay, concentrated fun and branded humour mixed with some real player skill without unnecessary bravado. Proud to wear ur decal mate!

Fv4005 is one of of my favorite british tanks and I love to use it in 11.7 because it can evaporate a T-90M in just a second AND also give me godmode

I found my love in HESH in the italian tech tree. Oh, but not from any old tank, but the AUBL and C13! People sleep on these two because their HEAT shells are so damn weak, but their HESH eats Tigers and IS-2s for dinner.
Got one of my first nukes in the C13 using only HESH ( I used HEAT only as a high-pen backup because post-pen sucks) and somehow it still felt like the easiest i've gotten yet
Hesh is mandatory for me on those vehicles because the heat is just abysmal.

Idk if your gonna see this but if you use the bm truck at top teir u can kill mordern day tanks by either hit em with the mussels and or shorting at a building their close to as it will cause overpressure hope this helps also use 38cm at top teir when ever u have people in ur spawn

I did notice HESH was performing like BESH last night when I played my old time favorite Chieftain Mk3. Switched to HESH to hit a guy behind a hill and it worked so well I kept it loaded for the rest of the game and got a few more kills

2nd last kill was actually the enemie the fv 4005 was made to kill.
I recently realized playing with the fv4005, that the most reliable way to kill other tanks is by shooting in the tracks, the shockwave kills all the crewmates. Interestingly this works with. Absolutely any tank, even the top tier ones

I've not used it recently but I didn't hate it much to begin with aside from King Tiger's upper plate, though my best game was only shooting light tanks and Hellcats on Japan to get 9 kills by the games end, so it looks better now to me, might need to go back to it
hesh is terrible now because gaijin removed high explosive and replaced it with apcr damage so called realistic

Next step, try to overpressure targets with the Strv 103 HESH, both light and medium/heavy armored tanks.
It's possible, i manage to use them greatly, yet not so easily with like a pure HE round.
