Music has always been a huge part of my life, but I’ve only very recently realised that songwriting can be more than a happy accident. So I’ve decided to put some effort into it and see if I can get any good at it. These videos are hugely encouraging and beneficial, thank you!
Thanks for the fantastic analysis and breakdown of this technique. It’s one of those things that you never notice till someone points it out. Well done!
Thank you for uploading your videos. They are valuable to musicians and to music fans. It is like magicians demonstrating how a magic trick works. Songwriters can use these insights when creating, and music lovers can use these lessons to increase their understanding and appreciation of music/songs. With each video i find myself thinking "so that's how they seduce me."
i think it‘s interesting that you chose „why georgia“ as an example for a great pre chorus. i always felt that this song has no real chorus since the real chorus modulates and therefore feels more like a repeating bridge to me. while the hookiest part is the „i wonder sometimes…“ section of the song. but maybe that‘s why it such a great pre: feels even better than the chorus haha
Hey Mystik, thanks for the comment and support! Much appreciated :) no, haven’t done anything in memorisation…the channel is more geared towards writing of songs rather than performance aspects. If you find something out there, let me know!
Glad to hear it! If there's every videos, tutorials, or topics you'd like to see (or see more of), please let me know here: facebook.com/keppiecoutts/posts/5788800087813751

Hi, dont know how to message here directly to your channel. Was wondering about how you see insperation as opposed to influence. Am a huge bowie fan and have been told i seem to sound like him at times. I dont think so, am inspired but not influenced. Anyones thoughts.
This is a good video, but I feel that I would benefit from a little more graphics, visuals, and powerpoint slides. I have already signed up for you Udemy course, but haven’t started it yet.

LISTEN TO CHEAP TRICK - they are masters of the pre-chorus
