On Bateman, I have been pretty critical on him both pre-draft and since he has been a Raven. Mainly because I thought he was overhyped coming in and seemed a little bit of a Diva, but not necessarily in a good way. It didn't help that he missed a lot of time and seemed frustrated with his playing time/options while on the field. Nor did it seem like he did much media then.
However, last season and this off-season, the way he has talked with the media, the way he talks about himself, his growth and what he took away from working with Odell, it seems he has grown a lot. He really explained in a more introspective and positive way what he was struggling with. And from my perspective, it seems he is hungry to show his talent, and that is the main frustration, not with Lamar, not with coaches, but just with himself, wanting to be better. It really seems he has a far more mature attitude and just makes me wish even more that he didn't have to go through those injuries and miss that time. It makes me want to root for him to show his skills and ability. I want to see him persevere and succeed.
I've always liked Bateman, despite his injuries I believe he's gonna have a breakout Year!!!
One of the most entertaining combine venues the show has had. Ravens football and live action golf. Love it despite the interruptions.
I feel like he should keep doing what he doing since it’s obviously comfortable for him and he is building his confidence up. I can almost guareentee he is gonna link with Lamar before the season begins.

What’s ppl don’t realize, and it might mean something or not it’s a different year next year. In that KC game the Ravens begin to figure them out. Problem was the last 3 drives 2 end up in turnovers. Going into this season what did we do different in that fourth quarter besides that bad decision into triple coverage.
That kinda goes in line with the frustration of the kc game.
While the game plan was not great there was alpt of opertunities to hit major plays. Especially from Bateman. There were instances were he couldn't have gotten two long td scores.
The lamar into triple coverage throw and the zay fumbles were just devastating.
Fumble a touchdown and get like 15 penalties. Leave Lamar one dementional once again with all the running bavks on the sideline. The chiefs' running backs got shut down several times, but they didn't leave Mahomes one dementional. They kept running it . Tell the whole story.

I'm just going to be honest. I never wanted us to draft Bateman. I felt like his selection was reactionary to not taking a WR in the 20' draft, which was much better for WRs. It's the same thing that happened in 14'. We didn't take a WR, and then forced a pick in 15' when that draft was much worse for WRs. I felt Bateman was a finesse WR with inconsistent hands who didn't fight enough for tough catches. And that's pretty much who he's been in the pros.
The year he was drafted he had the best hands in college though
@@TheJaybezel2 No he did not. He had quite a few drops to his name. He had good numbers, but not the best hands and that was not a good group of WRs anyway. We had no business taking one.
I can’t wait for the season. He’s going to be pretty good. Maybe not a 1k WR1 but a strong WR2 with some big big plays. That’s what I think. I hope to see.
Bateman was drafted because they knew Hollywood was gone. I don't think they were there in the 2020 season, so they didn't draft one.
@@tdogx9545 That’s their problem. They never think about stacking the WR position the way they think of stacking CB or Safety or Edge. Whether it works or not, they have that mindset to accomplish that goal, at those positions, but not WR. 2020 was a MUCH better year to get a WR. But they treated the passing game and WR position like such an afterthought, that they bypassed it for ILB, that they replaced before his rookie contract was up, to spend ANOTHER 2nd round pick at ILB in a trade and then a 20m contract. They only drafted Brown to pull a Safety out of the box to run the ball better. Not to actually have this great passing game. And then just tried to replace him with another guy they used the exact same way. And they never should have drafted either of them, but that was all they wanted a valued. Thank God Monken came in and Lamar really really wanted Zay Flowers.
I don't want to hear anything until he goes to Florida and trains with Lamar. Lip service to training hard. 😐

It’s just so disingenuous when I hear Sarah talk about Bateman because its just obvious she doesn’t like him If you watch tape, the only thing Bateman needed last season was for the QB to throw him the ball but the problem when you have so many weapons, someone isn’t gonna get the ball
