They legit took ALL the community requests from HW1 and just charged you for £50 for an expansion pack with all requests in it.
Is that a bad thing? I dont know anymore 🤷♂️
It's good but I think there is a lot that's similar or the same yet it has been packaged as a new game. Whereas others might've added those updates within the old game.
Really not much to build on game wise it’s solid. I just wish they’d have more wild tracks where you drive through the swimming pool in a glass tube or go underground through a garden house while ripping sick mini dirt jumps
This game actually has old fan favorite classics. Like Canyon Carver, 24/Seven, and various cars from stc or beat that.
It does but of the vast catalogue there is quite a lot new. I would love to have seen and learned more about the older classics.
Hot Wheels Unleashed 1 was great, a breath of fresh air for racing genera. But all the DLC and especially the Season pass FOMO stuff really did put a dampner on it. I'm glad Unleashed 2 is a thing and seems to do a lot right, but it's kinda once bitten twice shy for me.
Exactly my thoughts, it seemed excessive all the money needed to play everything. Shame because I love the racing. And as you said, despite the developer saying it would not be as bad in this department, we're not off to a good start.
I bashed and hated the original with all the added junk that actually served no purpose and how they never fixed the cheaters in multiplayer and how the loot box costs and the terrible RNG of back to back garbage trucks was disgusting.
I honestly would have picked this up if they would of transferred your grind and collection to the new game. Instead, they choose to resell you the same cars in bundles that still wont allow livery editing etc.
Joke of a sequel and they deserve to not profit.

The hate the sequel gets is so infuriating for me. A lot of new environments and cars, an entire upgrade system, new game mode, physics, etc, and that's a lazy sequel that should be a dlc?
If that's bad, then oh boy, I don't think you guys wanna hear of most of the Forza games or the entire Nfs franchise (specially the old games).
I would not call any of that radical and the new environments are not massively different. Not all new game modes are particularly fun or implemented brilliantly, physics are similar and still sometimes janky, cars are still great but not so many new ones to collect and it seems the expensive DLC model has returned. So no I'd say it's not really a full sequel in how it feels for me, having played the first a lot.
Yeah, it makes me wonder how much more could someone really ask for with a sequel. I get wanting to add new things to justify being a sequel and not glorified DLC, but how much more could really be added before it turns into something that loses the identity of the series? Plenty of other game series get away with adding far less for their sequels, and games that do try to innovate and change too much end up losing the identity of their series (see Halo as a prime example of that).
Lazy sequel which is already getting DLC packs.
