    You are a life saver! I was just told after spending hours on a project to make the polylines 1". I did NOT want to select each line individually. Made it so much faster. Thank you!!

    Hey thanks. Love your channel - very succinct. So how about the line ends - rounded vs square? The width option gives square ends but not practical / efficient as its not assigned by layer

    I copied lines from another drawing and pasted then into mine. They were on different layers and were different widths. I used the join command to make one line which worked however they are still show as different widths on screen just as they looked before joining. I want the lines to look small when i zoom in or out for ease of drawing and editing. I don't want the line to appear thicker as I zoom in. What am I doing wrong?

  • @engineer_yulan
    @engineer_yulan 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    is there a way where a line AB decreases its thickness, line weight decreases gradually (0.80 mm > 06mm > 0.2mm > 0.10mm), from thik to thin at point A 0.8 mm and point b is 0.10mm?

    Don't know if you are still out there :). I am using Autocad 2016 (Mac). I am in Model Space. I have the lineweight 'on' from my status bar. And I am simply drawing lines (no blocks). Before I draw the first line, I go into the Properties Inspector (in this version of Autocad, the linewidth isn't displayed in the layer window) and change the lineweight to 2mm. Then I draw a
    line. It is wide. I now go into the Properties Inspector again and change the linewieght to 0.25mm. The displayed width of the existing first line does not change at all on the screen! (shouldn't it?). I draw a second line. Its width is small relative to the previous 2mm width. I can go back and create any number of lines with different widths all on the same layer. I thought that I should be able to change the lineweight setting of a layer (which I seem only to be able to do in the Property Inspector) and the lineweights of ALL the entities on that layer should change accordingly. But that is not what I am seeing.
    Perhaps there is a different place that I can change the lineweight (than in the Property Inspector). Perhaps there is a way to have the lineweight setting show up in the Layer window so that it changes for everything on the layer? Autocad, so many settings, so little time, much frustration.

    Type LWDISPLAY, then type 1 and press enter to activate this option (type 0 to turn it off). Now you can see the Line Weight being displayed

    Bummer. None of this works for me. Trying to draw thicker lines and no mater what--change layer width, change line width in properties, the line stays exactly the same. Why do people put up with the ridiculous program? Changing a line width should be absolutely simple and reliable. See ANYTHING by Adobe.

    • @Cadintentions
      @Cadintentions  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Double check that you have lineweight display turned on. There's a button along the bottom status bar with horizontal lines, it should be blue for on, or type in lineweight and hit enter, check the box that says display lineweights and hit ok.
      Many including myself have lineweights turned off, they'll show up when printed but not when drawing, makes it easier to draw and after enough time, just know how it will look when plotted.
