My dad, who is now 41. Has this song tattooed on his arm, next to it, an angel, representing is father, who he had lost at just 15. One night, we were listening to music together, when he asked if I knew what the writing on his arm was. Confused I had said no, I thought it was some quote. He turned this song on. I thought it was quite good, but I never listened to it again. Recently, I decided to listen to it again, to pay respects to my pop that I never got to meet. And now that I've listened to it again, I love this song. I plan on listening to it until the day I die. And maybe when my dad passes, I'll get it tattooed on my arm. I never realised it was by Metallica, I'm a young metal fan, and I never was a fan of older rock/metal music, but metallica has me on a hook. I'm going to listen to their full Master of Puppets album soon. Fly high Poppy Holloway, and Cliff
Whats the actual tattoo of? Is it the angel and the title of the song above it? Thats sweet man, kudos. Lost my dad when I was 16 and i have a small tattoo for him but trying to get something bigger in his memory as he was a metalhead and that how I became one.
When I was a younger man I used to play this on my walkman while taking late night walks. I would look up at the stars & wonder what it would feel like to feel this empty. Fast forward 32 years later after losing my Parents, Son, Grandparents, several friends......I now know but wish I didn't.
@@maxwellelliott7963 nothing has confirmed that he wrote any instrumental part of the song, it’s only been confirmed that he wrote the second part of the spoken passage

You are a badass, MetallicA will give you the best journey, and I am sure your dad is very proud of you.

at around 6:40, the only time you lightly hear the bass in AJFA,
That 6:03 was beatiful, I'm in fucking tears
you can hear it in one
@@bigstinky7923 When? I've listened alot? I don't hear and I have a damn good ear for bass
@@pwincessiris 1:10, it also helps I know how to play the bass line
@@bigstinky7923 I'll see, I know the bass too
definitely not, you can hear it if you have good headphones in some parts of one, dyers eve and eye of the beholder
It really turned into doom metal, perfect.

This part ❤
brought a tear to my eye
Sounds like dsbm or funeral doom
Rip Clifford lee berton
It is psychadelic, terrorific or depressing depending on the minute HAHAHHA

Doomers Eve
1.25x speed trust
One of my fav. songs.
The only way to make this more doomer is adding Cliff's demo, the one that Jason plays live before master of puppets
that was something jason had written, this song was a tribute to cliff, cliff didn’t work on much for this song.
@@XxTheIOSGAMERxX idk i cant remember where, but i read cliff wrote that part
@@bigstinky7923 yes he wrote it but never had the chance to play it live so jason played it for cliff.

With all this russian invasion I feel so small and hopeless. My wish now to is to fall asleep and never wake up.
Me too pal, me too

Now it sounds like death metal. I imagine Chris Barnes' vocals in it😁
Please no! Peter Steele could have been a better choice.
More like Doom to my ear 😆
Can you make more of Metallica's instrumentals? Thanks!
Do Orion by Metallica please
