They know better than users because they have been there before we are not born. The old school still better when cars get old. Don't complain here bcoz if you want electronics there is other option out there. I am an off roader driver for decade and Japanese are right.

Disc brakes will only outperform a drum brake if your disc brake assembly have high quality materials, and when I say high quality, tipong mga ceramic rotors like the one installed on cars like Porsche, Ferrari, etc. Dahil bukod sa magaan, maganda din ang cooling performance. Pero kung pang daily daily lang, it doesn't matter if drums or disc yan, both will serve its purpose and that is to stop the car.

If yang sinasabi mong same lng performance ng drum at disc, lagyan mo front wheel mo ng drum, bumaba ka ng inclined roads, yung mga 20-30mins na puro ka apak sa brake, pagbaba mo sobrang init nyan at minsan di na kakapit brakes pag nakababad ka sa brakes pababa. Unlike sa disc brakes walang problema. Kung sinasabi mo din na same performance yan, di sana lahat ng brands naka drums pati front wheel kasi nga mas mura kesa disc, pero hindi diba, kasi alam nila mas safe and effective disc brakes for stopping your vehicle.

2 things that i chose triton over ranger. #1 mahal maintenance ng ford. 2 mas malakas and reliable and durable ang makina ni triton over your ranger. Hindi naman po ganun ka importante ang ibang techs. At may #3 pa mas matipid sa diesel si strada/triton. Ford engines uhaw lagi sa gas/diesel 😅

For the other points, I agree the Ranger is a much better pickup in 4x2 trim. If only there was a Ranger with the Triton engine LOL
Holy cow for the price of almost 1.6m it's still doesn't have ADAS and leather set, while the Conquest 4x2 and Navara VL 4x2 already included all those future and even leather set on Navara. Mitsubishi and Isuzu really have bad marketing strategy.

Still pretty happy with my gls and it has AED. You can easily get custom leather seat covers anywhere. Fresh face, new engine and a more modern instrument clusters compared to what you've mentioned. The only problem I have is these accessories are nowhere to be found near me and I can't travel outside my region atm.
