- I remember the first time I was introduce to lake kaweah. A good friend of mine brought me to this lake during summer of 2013 doing night fishing at the boat launch for crappie. I gotta admit, we weren't doing so good but when we catch one, its a guaranteed over 12 inch.
In this video, I'm going to introduce you to a new bait that I was using. When I pick this bait up, I wanted something that can go as slow as possible and still keep its action. I don't want to sound like I'm a pro at fishing but let's just say I was doing better than everyone else.
First part of video reminds me of Mister Roger's Neighborhood, lol. It's the same music (at first) and then, the kids in the background and the author's calm voice. Old geezers like me will get it. FISH ON!!

Up here in oregon at a resevoir called Prineville it use to have a crazy crappie population. Over the last 4 or 5 years though due to droughts and dry winters the water went down as well as a huge die off. Use to fish two to three large coolers full of crappie. They didnt have a limit there because of the huge population. Dont know if it will ever be the same going forward.
Man that sucks.. did the water dry up completely?
@@fellowfisherman5055 went down to 20%. Luckily this year we had a lot of snow so the melting ice brought it back to 50% and climbing daily. Next year i hope the fishery recovers
@Bee Xiong yea. This up coming season should be good then. It was badd for the past year in california too. Some year it's good but mostly bad. But this year is really good because of the rain

NICE!! Glad to see you posting again. FYI the regulations for bass have changed if you look in the 2023 regs for blackbass eastman,hensley kaweah and succes lake are no longer in the special regulations for blackbass . That means the limit is 5 fish 12 inches and over are keepers. look for yourself.

Just a suggestion, try some "bobby garland baby shads lures, " they are made just for crappie, "but" they will work wonders, they catch all kinds of fishes.
