  • I'm hunting down and kitting up 230 colors for my max color Starry, Starry Night Van Gogh diamond painting. This will take longer than I thought. I need more containers! Summer with the Masters is starting soon! #haed #diamondpainting #diamondpainter

    Amy, you are really brave👏 I would not have the brain power for a project like that🤪 I'm more of a lazy diamond painter🤭

      I have to do a mix of both. A little brain power mixed in with lots of easy. That's where all the minis and special drills come in. Thanks for watching!

    Hi Amy. What a big job 😮. I’ve seen another TH-camr, Joan Diamond Paints weigh her drills when kitting up HAED kits. Joan does a lot of conversions. I’m not sure where you would find the weight ratio, but it may be easier for you if you can. Really enjoying your videos. 😊

      I love watching Joan's videos. I don't have a small scale yet, but I bet that would be more accurate. Thank you!

    Thanks for sharing this... I have a Crown Jewel Canvas from the HAED website but I wasn't paying attention so I didn't realize it came without drills. Not sure where I go from here but one day I'll get the drills. I'm relatively new to diamond painting so that's a learning experience.

      The crown Jewel Canvas page lists several places to buy the drills. There are many that sell just the drills. I go with the cheap option and get the Artdot color sets on Amazon.

    I just put the DMC number on my pots as Pattern Keeper highlights the symbol, the colour and dmc number all at once when you select it - I've never regretted it at any point on my max colour painting. Could save you some time (but I understand if you prefer not to, we all have our own preferred way of working!)
    I use those little pill pot containers for my project, I do have to top up the bigger colours from time to time but I don't mind that as it means I can have all my colours out around me on the table when I'm actually doing the painting which I find more convenient in the long run.
    Look forward to seeing your progress though, I do enjoy a conversion 🙂
    Did you get your Turtle from Dreamer Designs this week? I resisted in the end (which was tough with all the sales going on!), I've bought a few paintings recently so I reminded myself that need to make a dent in those before getting more, LOL.

      Thanks! I was tempted to try just DMC. The symbols are prob too small on the containers, anyway. I couldn't resist the turtle or the sale. I ended up with 3 Dreamer Designs.. two sea turtles plus another. Oops!

    I don't understand what this all means,.I just put mine in the containers smaller then those but just go threw 1- 20 then the few Abc

      I'll try to explain better next time. This project has 235 colors and symbols, and many are hard to draw, so I'm cutting them out for the container labels. There are not many numbers or letters. This canvas did not come with diamonds, so I have to pull them from my spare drills, or buy them separately.

    Can u tell me what training wheels means in diamond paintings? I heard another u tuber say that for diamond paintings, thanks

    • @sjtwxgirl
      @sjtwxgirl  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hmmm. I haven't heard that before. I've seen small plastic wheels for placing diamonds. They can place long rows of 15 to 20 drills, but I saw bad reviews( hard to keep them rolling straight), so I haven't tried those. I've heard of training circles, sometimes found on round drill paintings. Those black circles surrounding each symbol are sometimes called "training circles" or "dummy circles." They help with placing diamonds, but if you miss a little, the black lines can show.

    I’m not sure I understand this, how can you alter a canvas charted with 82 colours with a max colour version, the max colour will have loads of different symbols than the ones on the canvas, I stitch heaven and earths, and a regular colour chart and a max colour are not the same. Despite being same stitch count. I’m maybe being dim 😑 looking forward to finding out as I’m no expert 🙂

    • @sjtwxgirl
      @sjtwxgirl  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are correct on the symbols. The background shape and color will help with general keeping track of where I am with the chart. I'll be using pattern keeper app to follow the max color chart and colors and just using the canvas almost like a blank one. If the max color becomes too much, I can just fall back to following the symbols on the canvas with fewer colors. They are both the same exact stitch count.
