#splatoon3 #sideorder #boss - บันเทิง
The game literally tells you (and to be fair, only if you read the jelleton field guide) that the layers with lights are the only important layers.
I didn't see that but then again I haven't gotten all 3 jelleton dialogue entries for it so I think it's from the conclusion part when you beat it enough times
Correct me if I'm wrong
@@Rubellite-jq2kgit's actually the second tip (3 splats)
The conclusion is funny and disappointing XD
I think it’s the second entry, either that or the first since I don’t have the third yet@@Rubellite-jq2kg
I also totally missed this.
I read all the guides and still completely missed that, I think I just went "duh, all the layers have lights" and immediately threw it out of my brain before thinking to check lmao
In-game info from the enemy guide (press X outside of a run (so either Order square or the Foyer)):
You only need to break the layers with lights.
I think it's important to make sure to look for info in-game first
Though to people's credit:
You might have to defeat the boss a few times before knowing
I thought it meant the searchlights, though - doesn't really say which lights.
@@cristycrenshaw9109 Uhm.... I don't- I don't think searchlights would make sense- at all-...........
@@cristycrenshaw9109 the exact description in-game: "You'll need to destroy the lit-up layers to win. You can work your way up from the bottom, or try for the higher layers first if you have a long-range weapon!" that's... pretty specific... it wouldn't make sense if it is referring to the searchlight.
Y'all, I'm not saying it makes perfect sense. I'm saying that reading it alone without the large scale image of the boss, I made a mistake. The early encounters I had with that boss were unfortunate horde incidents and I didn't notice the pattern of which levels were lit until watching someone else do it (where I wasn't trying to dodge a horde)
@@FireSonicYTYeah after reading it I realize I was very silly thinking it was the searchlight layers, but I feel like its not an unreasonable misunderstanding. My ligic was with the long-range tip that you could instead destroy every layer from the top down
From my experiences, I think it's always the third, sixth, and ninth layers with the lights on them, and these are the only ones required to take out Rondo.
Since you're a secret music nerd Mr gem, I had an idea you might wanna do for a video. You could make one describing what the music terms are that the jelletons are named after and how their behavior fits into that term
This would be really useful tbh as I've been scratching my head at all of the names wondering why everything is suddenly in Spanish (although it could be Italian too? i don't think it's latin?) - although for those of us who don't know these terms it certainly adds a layer of otherworldliness to them
@@SnoFitzroyIt's Italian!
@@SnoFitzroy”Spanish” this generation is cooked.
@@budgieinahoodie5661 Not everyone speaks Italian, dude.
Ooh, I'll totally look more into this. I know the basic enemies are named after their speed (tempo)...the arpeggios seem to more reflect the...vague vibe of an arpeggio? I don't think there's any concrete connection there. OH! OH and the canon is called a canon because- Because a canon is where the same melody will be repeated over itself slightly delayed! Just like how the inklings spawn in slightly delayed one after the other!
I can't believe I hadn't made these connections before.
As an extra side note you can Reroll the bosses if you have the Reveal boss and floor reroll hack if you want avoid/encounter a boss
1:50 another clever hint is THAT ITS IN THE FIELD GUIDE
I always thought that part of the wiki was contradictory
you can’t say “you only need to beat the layers with lights” and “you only need to beat the top layer” at the same time…
Fun fact: The lighted layers are always the third, sixth, and ninth from the bottom.
Shenpai Jumpscare
I immediately went onto the wiki after Side Order released so I could learn about any cool secrets I missed out whiles playing.
Ngl, this whole time, i always chipped away at its middle to snipe that top part, so i genuinely believed this. Glad you did the research to bust this myth! 🐀
No way shenpai already played side order! Thank you fot telling, need to watch that NOW!
Note I really should start reading and I am the descriptions of the gelatin files because I've done this boss now it's really easy all I have to do is aim for the light up parts and once the final layer that has lights are gone the entire boss just instantly dies
oh my god thank you for informing me that shenpai played side order bc i need to see that immediately
also i feel stupid bc i totally read through the jelleton field guide entries and somehow missed this crucial detail
2:21 this situation happened to me on my stringer run hahaha
Someone updated the wiki, I mean, I add notes on the bottom of the page for someone to look into it and update it, but whoever many thousands of people in that site see's them and gets rid of it
I'm actually friends with the guy who wrote the og wiki page for Rondo, we are all laughing at his ass in our discord 💀
Fun fact: the boss' weird noises are it singing Ebb and flow but somewhat distorted and at half speed
Good to know whenever i get the Blaster palette or if it exists, the Range Blaster one.
Good luck reaching the top layer 💀💀💀
@@EternaSoSleepy With enough range extensions, maybe I can
@@DiegoG2004 range extension go brrrrr
When my fave splatoon ytber makes a video ab my fave boss: 💥💥💥💥
This information is already in the game
The wiki is nice but the game out right tells you this in the dedicated monster manual/beastapedia
Just say "Jelleton Field Guide" (also NEITHER of the terms you used are ever used in games???)
Why did you put one of the bosses in the thumbnail?
Yeah, it's almost like wikis are encyclopedias that anyone can edit 🫢
I f-ing hate this boss. I never had any issue with the screen special, but this boss makes me feel nauseous when I have to fight it.
I hate it too 😭 it just creeps me out with its singing and screaming
The worst one for close range weapons, best for long range ones.
This boss is amazing
Pinging Marcialle is Damn Fun with charger too
I actually destroyed him with Splatana the fastest of all
TBH side order have the best bosses of all splatoon
All u need is a tri strike to get them done
@@nairu807 finally somebody understands!
It's also good to know that you don't need to hit the faces, they just take more damage. So if you have something like crab tank you might want to keep firing at a layer with lights even if you can't hit the face because you will still be doing damage.
Oh I didn't know that! Will be trying it next run :)
I think you do about 25% of your base damage to the non face segments, it's the same reduction as pinging miarcles shell
Fun fact: What the wiki ISN’T wrong about the boss though is that it’s based on a panopticon! This is hinted at with the background being full of prison cells circling the middle part and the song name being “Octopticon”. This isn’t really important to know, but I just find it cool that more games are doing panopticon boss fights.
I'm sorry what the hell is a panopticon?
@@Bowser6495It’s a circular prison. It’s why the boss has jail cells in the background and the searchlight circling around.
@@ven_uwu oh ok
@@Bowser6495There is no way you can't just search this online lol
@@Bowser6495 it’s a circular prison designed to make prisoners paranoid about if they’re being watched or not (which is why search lights kind of defeat the purpose of it but it doesn’t matter much for a game)
Issues that happen when you don’t read game dialogue 😆
This
Although it's not game dialogue, it's the enemy documentation thing, in game
I've seen so many people not realize that you can pay membux to back out of a floor, albeit without the chip that floor would give you.
Trust me when I say this issue is much worse with pokemon fans lmao
@@BlazingJ972 correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a hack for that too?
@mjcox242 the one you're talking about is the continue when you lose all lives. The hack reduces the cost of membucks to continue.
Someone saw this and updated the wiki accordingly, and in fact clarified exactly by saying “Destroying the highest layer alone will not suffice.” Thanks for clearing this up in the meanwhile Gem! The wiki editors got the backs of people who dont catch on as easily or haven’t reached in game info that helps with this
replying to boost this comment
i think some people just read the in-game info after killing the boss a few times and updated the wiki
@@jokerofspades-xt3bs one way or another, soon as they’re aware wiki editors have insane speeds sometimes
@@willowtreewhispers true
Fun fact it's voice (the song it sings) is marinas side of ebb en flow at half speed and BROKEN/VERY CORRUPTED
I like how it sounds like Mario when he gets his cheeks burned on lava
I believe the oyster boss also sings fly octo fly
Where the source??? Where does it say
@@SlimeGamerYT You can literally just hear it
@heroinhero I heard it in someone's video, but isn't it usually random sounds? Or does it actually sing during the boss battle?
And when you think about it the boss kinda relates to commander tartar with the eyes and the ebb and flow sound cuts being the subjects screaming during the assembling of the blender
In short: The game *_literally_* tells you this when you defeat enough of them in the Jelleton guide.
I wouldn’t blame the average person for skipping some in-game dialogue, but if you’re writing for the wiki, I feel like you should definitely be as thorough as possible. Read everything, test your theories instead of just guessing, otherwise you might accidentally end up spreading misinformation to a lot of people
It’s not even dialogue, it’s in Asynchronous Rondos page in the enemy guide, which is where you should look for tips on enemies
Deadass I went to the Inkpedia page and immediately corrected it for you
Legend
fire!
I mean the wiki can get things wrong some times
When I did the calculations of the new splatfest scores, we ended up the ice cream fest results percentage on one of the categories was incorrect
Then just notify their discord to change or do yourself(which I did)
You can also just read the boss entry in the enemy encyclopedia in the game. It is explicitky said by marina that you you only need to target the lighten up floors.
Not really sure why theres confusion on this. As many others have said the in-game field guide explains it plainly. It also just feels like a natural conclusion to come to once you realize that all of the bosses have a system of checkpoints
Not everyone is aware of the ield guide or noticed the little lights, also the field guide can be misconstrued as referring to the spotlights, which are on every layer
@@SnoFitzroypeople aren't very observant then haha
@@Killallmangahaters The game tells you that the field guide exists and that you might want to read it, but the information you need might not be available yet as it takes a certain number of kills for each enemy to get the really useful tips.
@@SnoFitzroy that is a personal issue, you have got to make a mistake or be wrong somewhere, that's just not a good excuse like at all
I legitimately cleared Side Order with all pallets before I knew this information since I never felt the need to look at the field guide.
Yippee Shen mention‼️‼️
Whoa Shenpai mention
…I’ve died like twice to this thing using 8’s gun.
This would’ve been useful to know BEFORE HAND
Could have sworn I beat the boss at least once without destroying the top layer, but I've also never noticed the lights before (just kept getting lucky with which layers I did destroy, apparently), and also very well could have destroyed the top layer in those cases, forgot I did, and thought the second layer down was the "top" layer when it, in fact, wasn't.
Depending on the weapon you're using, this can either be one of the easiest or hardest floors. Also, it depends on whether or not you get a lot of range upgrades.
Arguable whether this or the clones are the creepiest; I don't like it moaning and groaning at me.
well this has been informative, but I'm still gonna bust all the layers my way because I think it's more satisfying that way lol
Yeah I found this out by myself
I actually thought this boss was pretty easy. I don't really know how people are struggling
that explains why it would sometimes die "early"
I thought it was the top one…
I've reached a point in Side Order that I always defeat this boss in unideal ways to be funny. I can confirm, destroying the glowing layers in any order causes it to be destroyed entirely.
I call this boss GLaDOS. Sorry, but I'm right
Commence the release of deadly neurotoxic mist
No you're not
and not the first marina???
Bruh sprinkler non-ironically shreds this thing. (Ok, it doesn’t completely shred it, but in its first cycle or two the sprinkler can consistently chip at the layer on the bottom.)
But ig that doesn’t matter anymore since now I know I don’t need to target each layer
In one of my runs I just shot at higher layers than the bottom one in order to make it less likely to rise up to avoid my attacks, and it died way faster. I now know why
I might’ve made an mistake lmao- (I made the wiki page and I assumed the edit was correct cause whenever I destroyed the top layer I must’ve had the other lighted ones as well)
was Not expecting Shenpai to ever be in the same general realm of existence as Gem this is weird
Now I feel stupid I always take time and risk dying to break every last layer
I’m so dumb, I’ve read through the field guides and I didn’t even notice that in this journal entry 😭
I mean you can make short work of this boss if you use triple inkstrike, and dunk this boss in 20 seconds or less.
FYI one of the dialogue boxes before the fight can be Pearl telling you that marina says you only have to hit the light layers
Tbf the dlc like just came out so we don’t know everything about it yet
i loved the field guide and read thru it in-between every run and still i didn't know this 🤷 these comments are so strange
Shen being mentioned in a Squid School video was the last thing I was expecting to see today
Personally, I defeat each layer one by one so the boss can last longer, because I feel these bosses are TOO easy, even though they’re supposed to be a bit easy
Wait i thought hitting the lit layers were common knowledge
Guys just read the fun banter in the collection menu
If the wiki is wrong, change the content of the page and correct it.

I love it Yelling Stopppppppp like haunted movie!
and the wiki has been edited xd
I have gotten the insta through top layer befor but there were also several runs that didn't count which made me a little confused, I was starting to think maybe if a big one falls on a small one it collapses on its own weight or something.
u can't insta the top layer

@@EternaSoSleepy the explosions are big enough to hit them! you literally just have to do it one at a time
And here I am breaking every layer from the bottom-up like a chump.
You can actually damage it without hitting the face so if a layer is super weak you don't have to wait for it to fully rotate
0:18 Didn't expect to see Shenpai out of the blue like this.
Isn’t the miniature kind of a spoiler?
No, its just a boss and has nothing to do with the story
@@EternaSoSleepy many people(myself included) like to experience the game completely blind, even if it’s just a boss, it’s still annoying for some people, as it takes away the surprise factor for when they actually get to the boss. I already know the bosses in the game so it’s not a problem for me, but it’s still annoying, even for a single boss to be spoiled
it was shown off in the trailers so it's design isn't a spoiler. if you don't want to get spoiled about the fight mechanics......don't click the video???
@@stupidenby The trailer can be simply ignored, but the boss literally being in the miniature can’t be avoided, you end up getting spoiled even if actively trying to avoid it, some people may avoid trailers to go completely blind, but this just pops out of nowhere and you now just know how one of the bosses looks without having to click on the video
@@stupidenby i was also talking about the miniature, not the video itself
I don't understand how this misconception happened because the game quite literally tells you that you destroy the lit up layers
but the specific wording the game uses is more like "layers with lights," which is a little ambiguous, and could refer to the spotlights that every layer has. Kinda understandable mistake to make tbh
@@SnoFitzroy Maybe i'm just, different, but in my mind, when I saw the words "Layers with lights" and noticed the three layers that were different than the others, It kinda just clicked for me
Crab Tank eats through this boss so easily since you can use it to target any layer
I've also destroyed it incredibly quickly with triple inkstrike since it hits every layer all at once.
Its wiki, what did you expect?
Wikis are supposed to be unambiguously 100% correct, it's the LITERAL ENTIRE POINT
