I adore Richard - working with him and having him in my life all these years. Of course he's gone on to do so much other work since The Waltons. What else have you enjoyed him in?
Judy, I am 63 years old. In 1972 I was spending the night at my grandparents house, my grandpa had been diagnosed with cancer, he turned on the TV to watch the Waltons. He asked me if a had ever watched it, I said no. Grandpa said watch it with me, the old man makes me laugh. Because of my grandpa I became a life long Waltons fan. Everytime I watch the Waltons I am once again that young boy spending an evening with my grandpa. Good Night Grandpa Covey, I love you.
The Waltons, for me, is a warm safe place. During these dark times, the Waltons is my daily escape. I am home bound due to my health. Every day, for a few hours, I feel the feelings of coming home. Richard Thomas is an example of the sheer level of talent that came from the show. The chemistry between all of the actors was magic. 💕
He's one of the best actors of our time. He has never been given the credit he deserves. The show itself was the best... my mom would bake cookies and we would watch as a family every week. Now that the nation is caught up in so much darkness, the show is like a warm blanket, it is something safe and inviting and I think the Walton's are really America's family the "ideal" picture of what the American family should be and once was. For many millions of people it is more than just a show...
Well said, Mr. Robinson! The script, writers, directors, and actors ALL blended the show so perfectly - Bravo, Judy Norton for your behind-the-scenes videos! 🥰 p.s. Ironically, I have a son named Chris Robinson 😎 His first short-film as an actor/producer was called "Jessie" and was a short-film festival winner! You can watch "Jessie" on Amazon Prime!
I've only just found your memories of the Waltons and l'm really enjoying them . I'm 77 now and absolutely loved the weekly visit to Walton's Mountain. Being an only child it made me wish l'd been part of a family like them . The stories were wonderful and over the years , along with all your other fans, l've laughed, worried , smiled and cried at all the stories. I'm so glad they're still available to see on various media. Thanks for all the pleasure the Walton Family has given us over the years.
My husband and I watch the show every day. It brings us tremendous comfort to escape the troubles of this Covid world and to the simpler life on Walton's Mountain. Yet, there is always so much strength and admirable lessons to be learned that we take back into the world with us, when the hour is done. It truly helps to lift our spirits and gives us hope and a vision of what the world can be, when love is the primary concern. Thank you and all of your fellow actors for the people you brought into the world in the Waltons.
Richard Thomas is one of my all time favorite actors. His acting on The Waltons moved me to tears, and I mean that literally! There were so many scenes that pulled my heart, I think one of my favorites of his was in the episode 'The Homecoming'. He's telling a story about the first Christmas, his eyes begin to water, and the music too, so beautiful.
My wife and I watch numerous Christmas specials every year, but The Homecoming -- and the Christmas-oriented episodes of the series -- we always watch several times each.
I love how John boy was seen as the hope and joy of the parents and grandparents. Especially grandma. She was tough, hard working and a no nonsense woman. But at times, her heart would fill and you could see the love for John boy.
I miss John Ritter. He seemed so genuine and kind. His smile as was Richards is just contagious. Your smile is lovely as well. I have 9 people in my family ( 7 siblings and my parents ) so the Walton's felt very familiar to me. The fights, arguments, dinner etc it was the best show of my childhood. Thank you!
Thursday nights at 8 pm. I’m 59. Me and two of my brothers would be watching a small black and white TV. Coming from a broken home iThe Walton’s gave me a sense of what I thought is a normal family. The stories touched the hearts of many . Thank you.
Hi I am 55 and grew up watching the Walton's, I was so absorbed by the character's and story line I came to think of them as an extension of my own family...a truly special show that has never been matched.since.
I loved your story about when he split his pants and how you all drew moles on your faces! 😂 Richard Thomas was incredible. He exuded such emotion, whether it was laughter and joy or anger or sadness. His presence filled the screen in every scene he was in. Last night I rewatched The Minstrel, and there was a scene when you were running away from the minstrel in the forest and John Boy found you. You two shared such a beautiful moment in that scene - you could really see the affection you had for each other 💕.
My wife's favorite John-boy scene was when he returned from NY and snuck up on Olivia outside pulling weeds or something. When she turned and looked at him, the look in his eye's was just magical.
When Richard Thomas left the show, it wasn't the same for me. When John and Olivia left and the cousin came, I really didn't watch anymore. Nothing is ever the same when one and especially more leave a show. I loved the kids and glad they stayed. Same thing happened with Little House on the Prairie...
I pulled that sneak up stunt while in college. Long drivew way, cut the headlights, eeeeeeeeased in the back door, and then asked a question from the kitchen, "HEY, where's the ... ..?" Mama loved it.
Hi Judy.. at the end of the video, you're thanking us.. well trust me when I say, we thank YOU for these absolutely marvelous insights of life behind the scenes of The Waltons.. brings us all closer together as one big family!
Julie I just want to thank you for what you're doing The waltons got me through a very difficult route to it and I still watch them today and have most of the DVDs thank you very much for bringing
I never get tired of watching the reruns. That also was my grandmother’s favorite show in the early 70s. I never met anyone that disliked The Walton’s. Thank you 🙏 ❤️
I appreciate being able to watch THE WALTONS at 11:00 CST on ME TV here in Chaos City Misery! :-) That’s what I call it after the Chiefs lose! :-) and if I had my way, I’d be making my 11 grand children watch it too! :-)
I can't put into words the impact this wonderful series had on my life....I just fell in love as a child with this family.....all of you were so genuine and real and you could really see the love you had for each other.....I thank you so much for this "behind the scenes" look at something that literally changed lives....God bless you Judy.
My 92 year old mama and I couldn't be happier!! We do the SAME thing! EVERY day! This was her absolute favorite show back in the day, and I loved it too, grew up feeling like y'all were really brothers and sisters and part of the family......
The waltons became a weekly pause in our family’s life. My Dad grew up in East Tennessee, much like Virginia, and during the depression. I think for him it was like going home, to a place of warmth and love. My grandfather - Dad’s father- died when dad was 26, and that I believe is why he so loved y’all . In later years Mom and Dad made a special trip to “Walton’s mountain” and met one of the Hamners.
No matter how many times I watch an episode I'm still left better condition than before I watched it. You were all special! And the stories were so touching. Thank you, Judy.
I wish we had a dictionary with the kind respectful phrases these writers used to show compassion, understanding, comfort and acknowledging life’s issues in such a truthful honest ways!! So many childhoods are filled with everything just the opposite of that and it breaks my heart to see such broken families which is why the Walton’s are so rare and cherished!!
Hi Judy. I really enjoyed watching the Walton’s when I was young. Now, I find myself watching the re-runs to calm my nerves from this crazy world we are living in right now. It is like chicken soup for my soul! Thank you for sharing all the fabulous stories. Great job! 👍🏻
If I had a dollar for everytime I heard someone say that exact thing, I would be a millionaire! An indication of the comfort The Waltons brought to many viewers.
@@sharonjackson268 you're right, the shows on now combined with the daily news are too violent and The Waltons is the best show to watch for relaxation and a reminder of better times
I adored Richard for years! Absolutely loved him in The Waltons and don’t think the role could have been played better by anyone else. I really loved seeing him in The Christmas Box - probably not one of his better known films but a really heart-warming one based on real life events. It’s so nice to hear that he was as lovely in real life as he appeared to be in The Waltons. Thank you, Judy.
I'm not surprised to hear about the type of person he was in real life. It comes across the screen in his performances. He's a real gentleman. His parents raised him right.
Sheila agree it was a great movie and Richard and Maureen Ohara had great chemistry together on screen. Hard to believe how old it is now and Ms. Ohara has since passed on.
Thank you so much, Judy, for making these videos! I had quite a crush on Mary Ellen as a boy! 😍 I have been really enjoying all these stories and behind the scenes! Thank you for sharing your life and talent with the world!
What red blooded American male didn’t have a crush on Mary Ellen? Judy, these memories are awesome. It’s almost scary how fast time has flown by. Thanks for sharing the humor behind the scenes and your personal memories of the terrific cast.
I miss the Waltons so much especially the early years. That was a beautiful time in my life, they were like my family. I remember when Grandpa passed away and when Ellen came back after her stroke, I cried uncontrollably because I really loved them both. I wanted them to be my grandparents! May they rest in peace 😢
OMG Judy, You brought this almost 63 year old guy to tears. Thank YOU and all the cast members for welcoming us into your home on Waltons Mt. and for all these wonderful videos you are doing !
I'm glad to hear Richard Thomas was great to work with. The Waltons was never hokey it was just genuinely good entertainmemt. John Ritter as a preacher has always amazed me. Such awesone stories of your fellow actors.
Judy, these videos are amazing! It's so great to know what went on behind the scenes, especially for people like me who grew up with you (I was 13 when it first came on), and yes, I am also one of the people who wished my family was even a little bit like the Walton family. I really enjoy your commentary of memories and appreciate that you put these out here for us to see. Much gratitude for the lifetime of entertainment and the fact that you keep it coming. You are blessed soul.
Every episode leaves you feeling good, no matter the storyline, & enlightened somehow on how life could be; should be; how we can be better as a family member, friend, parent, spouse,...sadly we live in a society where those qualities are fading. So glad it’s still on the air . Thanks for sharing behind the scenes.😊
Ami I totally agree, another reunion would be great. I was thinking maybe to play tribute to all the character s who actors have pass ed away. Where they visit the grave site and has they visit they flashbacks of them.
I love to watch The Waltons, thankfully it comes on every day at noon for me. I even skip half of my soaps just to watch the show. Your talks are great, I've watched many of them. I so miss the show and wish it had run for so much longer. I watched it when it first came out and really enjoy the reruns.
Thank you, Judy!! The Waltons, Little House, and the Andy Griffith Show were and still are my favorite tv programs.I have NEVER gotten tired of them and I watch them over and over.
I don't even have the words to describe what peace this series brings to my life. With the world in a turmoil and work and stresses of everyday living. The forgotten values of the past and the family morals that have changed with the times and not in a good way. There's just so much to be grateful for in having had the privledge to learn and love through the entire Walton history. I bet there isn't one person who wouldn't have loved to experience what you have Judy in living those memories. Thank you from the bottom or all of our hearts. 💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘
Quite by accident I came across your channel. Oh! How I remember waiting each week for the next episode! So kind of you to bring this wonderful show alive for us again. Thank you for sharing your memories.
@@judynorton2598 I’m glad I joined your channel I had no idea the hard work the script the props the house the Cast… I always learn something new when watching your channel judy.. thanks I hope you had a merry Christmas and I hope you have a happy new year
Richard Thomas is definitely a great actor and I love holly I like how he came back for the reunion shows and I think Michael learned should have had them roll for the homecoming
My favorite will always be (The Type writer) i never miss the Waltons , they come on in Arkansas from 2-4 , i can repeate the lines before they do , still ,i grew up in the 50s and my family was so close to these , we always said good night , my mother had 11 children , i set was triplet boys , the table where we ate , was just like that . Thanks to you for bringing these memories to us.....
Thank you Judy for these wonderful videos. I love learning about how the show was made and all about the cast members. I was a young boy when The Waltons were new and I will always love and admire this show for it's great stories and commitment towards family values. They don't make family shows as good as this anymore.
Judy, Thanks for posting these videos. The Waltons was one of my favorite shows as a kid in the 70's. Wish they made shows like it now. Thanks again. All my best!
I love watching the Waltons so much that I bought the whole set of DVD so I can watch it again and again. It's such a heart warming story about a lovely family going through the depression and WWII. Every character is so genuine and real, it's like part of our own family. I wish everyone a happy and healthy life.
Judy, it means so much that you loved the show enough to have this ongoing series. It confirms how I feel about it. Hearing about Richard Thomas behind the scenes is very interesting. I just love the vulnerability, innocence and wisdom he put into his role. You were all wonderful in your roles and I'm so glad that most of you stuck it out until the end of the series. By the way, when your "Curt" was killed in Pearl Harbor i bawled like a baby. I'll never forget it.
I was crying through your entire video. The show has meant so much to me over the years. You spoke with such poignancy about Richard Thomas. I’m so pleased the cast was friends on the show and in real life. There was an intimacy and affection in the show enveloped the audience. Thank you for the videos. I’m laying catch up and am watching a few of them daily. Terrific work you’re doing.
I just love these videos! You speak with such love & fondness of your fellow actors that it truly warms my heart and puts a smile on my face the entire time you are speaking 💕 I had quite the crush on John Boy also. I had to laugh out loud picturing John-Boy listening to Hendrix! Love it! Thank you Judy for taking the time to make these 🥰
Judy, I have known your characters for 49 years of my 59 years. I remember watching the Homecoming in 1971 in Southwest Philadelphia where I grew up. The story, the setting, and all of you have stayed with me since I was 10 years old. As a family we did not watch the Waltons when it was on in the 1970’s, but in the 1980’s I began to watch the reruns of the Waltons and continue to watch the show now. The writing, the stories the music, the characters and the emotion of the Waltons resonate today.
I am one of the biggest walton fan and without Richard Thomas playing john boy the show wouldn't be the same. Cant tell you how much joy this show has brought me. I watch waltons episodes everyday before I go to bed. Thank you for making these videos
Richard in the late 90's or early 2000's he did a dvd series of true life miracles. i thoroughly enjoyed them and have yet to see the entire dvd collection.
John Boy barefooted with all his sass and determination to succeed in an impoverished time. His performance as an actor was spot on and marvelously heart grabbing. He made John Boy “real” for all of the viewers of this show. Thank you for these videos
I was also 9 when it started. Absolutely adored the show & still do. I had a little bit of a thing for Jon Wamsley( since I also play guitar), but my major crush was always ERIC SCOTT
I think a lot of girls had a crush on Richard Thomas ....I know I did 🤭😊 and also Eric Scott!! Even my two daughters...who are in their 20's...thought Eric was the cutest of them all!
As a child, the only time our home was peaceful and quiet was when we all got together to watch the Waltons. It's the only part of my childhood I can share with my kids. I'm loving the behind the scenes of a show that kept me alive.
Judy, I have to tell you I watched The Walton’s as a child and loved the show. I am now 54 and I have been rewatching EVERY day since the pandemic began in March. I keep it on from 12-5 Mon-Fri. It plays on MeTv, Hallmark Channel and Cozi Tv. I needed an escape from the terrible news and your show takes me away. I feel like I am watching old family movies, not a scripted tv show. I work while it is on but I have to be honest, I watch you guys more than work 😏. I cry, I laugh and I envy you for being a part of such a magnificent tv show. Every character was played so well and I love them all. Thanks for doing this channel. Would love to see more! You look wonderful.
I love these precious times Mary Ellen,Judy is bringing to us ,its things we’ve all wondered about ,,,now we are learning so many wonderful things about our precious WALTONS❤️
Beautifully done. I enjoyed this insight. One of my favorite aspects of John Boy was his relationship with Grandma and when he took her to the college. His portrayal of their very special relationship always touched me. I'm enjoying the series very much, Judy.
I love their interaction on the show very much also. At the college, she sees a sign for a class "The Bible as Literature" and tells him that would be a great class to take. Another great episode has her giving him ideas for how to give his sermon, when he fills in for Reverend Fordwick. Also, she tells him at one point that her people were storytellers, and John Boy says to her that now he knows where the gift of writing came from.
Judy, all of you have left all of us who enjoyed the show so much with warmer hearts and a sympathetic nostalgia that never grows old. I'm not sure if Richard ever received special recognition for the episode called "The Journey," but it touched my heart in so many ways. He was superb, as was the elderly lady he took to visit the seaside one more time. Many thanks for all these memories!
@Judy Norton my name is Grace I love ❤️ the Waltons reminds me of my .childhood growing us with my grandparents n all the happy memories I watch the series everday
I loved the Waltons. The family connections were amazing. I still watch it til this day and think back fondly of all episodes. It was a feel good series for me. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's like they were all real and not actors.
I saw Richard Thomas a couple of years ago in The Humans. I was so excited to see him in person! Would you ever bring him on to answer questions? You were each so good in your roles. The Easter Story really showcased your talents. I loved that story in particular. Thanks for sharing so many interesting stories!
Judy, you are such a gracious woman. Your descriptions of the Waltons are fun and touching. Thanks for sharing. It's intimate and special for each one of us and to reply to our comments is amazing. I enjoyed Richard when he was the psychopath. I was pretty young and it showed his great versatility because I was pretty startled.
I just want to say how much joy “The Walton’s” have brought to my life. I own the DVD’s and enjoy viewing them. Coming from a family of 7 children I can relate to the tv family. In times of trouble in my life it has brought comfort and a a feeling of home to me. I also enjoy you channel and the insights to what happened behind the scenes.
When I was a teen I regret missing a lot of first season as I was on another channel watching Flip Wilson. And now I watch on local MeTV at lunch while teleworking. Tears on nearly every show. Bless you. You have grown to be the woman we hoped you'd be!
We used to get The Waltons over here in the UK on the BBC. I was born in 1964 so I grew up with you Walton children. I loved it. It was like having an extended family in the USA. Thank you to everyone involved and thank you for these wonderful back stories. All the very best, Dave.
Richard played the role of the big brother I wish I had when I was in my early teens... I can only imagine what a treasure and model he was for all of you as we watched you grow up before our eyes...
Thank you so much, Judy, for sharing your experiences with us. I moved to Virginia in 1983, in part, at least, because of the Waltons. It was my favorite show. I subsequently visited Earl Hamner's home and the store (Ike Godsey"s) and later went to the museum. I have watched every episode at least 4 times and enjoyed each viewing as much as the first. God bless you and all those wonderful cast members, especially those who have passed on.
Wow, that's quite a story. Did moving to Virginia live up to your expectations? The reason i ask is because, being filmed in California, i think Virginia would have a much different feel to it.
@@freddell7358 My dad is from Virginia and I had been here many times as a kid when we visited my grandparents in Staunton. And, yes is did live up to expectations. It is a truly beautiful state and I lived in Charlottesville for 30 years and am currently living in Sandy Hook in Goochland county about half way between Charlottesville and Richmond. I've been to Schuyler many times and visited the museum there and seen the Hammner home and a store that had been located where the general store was back in the day. That store burned down many years ago.
Missed Richard when he left the show, Just wasn't the same without him. Richard Wrightman did a good job replacing Richard Thomas but just wasn't the same. I hope you will include Mr. Wrightman in your up coming blogs. Take care and GOD Bless.
@@johnharris7751 I agree, and at the same time, I really loved the way Mr. Wightman portrayed John-Boy. I warmed up to him right away, even though he was clearly not the passionate, sensitive, outspoken man that Richard Thomas portrayed.
I am 61 and remember our family gathering around the television back in the 70's to watch our favorite show. The Walton's. To this day, it is still my favorite show. I just saw Richard perform in "To Kill a Mockingbird" here in Norfolk, VA, last weekend. It was a great performance. At the plays end when the cast came out to take their bows, I almost yelled "Goodnight John Boy!"
Judy, I watched the Waltons over and over again. It was a program that was near and dear to my heart. I always wanted a family like the Waltons. I'm so grateful for your hard work, and love you gave to the show. Also the rest of the cast, who showed how a family, was so dedicated to each other through good times and bad. Richard like the rest of you were superb in there performance. The show was one of my favorites. I couldn't wait until it came on.
@@judynorton2598 Judy, I'm reaching out to you, because I care about your soul, and where you are going to spend eternity when you die. Do you know the gospel (good news)that Jesus Christ died for you, he was buried and arose from the grave on the 3th day? God loves you and wants you to repent of your sins, and believe and receive that Jesus died for your sins. If you believe and receive Gods gift of salvation you will have eternal security in the kingdom of God, and you will be in heaven, and not hell. The bible says that there is a hell, and those that reject the gospel will go there. Jhon 3 verse 3, says For God so loved the world, that he gave is only begotten son, that who so ever believes in him, shall not perish, but have ever lasting life.KJV version. I pray that you give your life to Jesus Christ
Thank you for doing these videos and sharing with us! I absolutely love hearing all the behind-the-scenes, personal stories! I grew up watching The Waltons every week and still all these years later it has remained one of my top favorite TV series. I watch it every week day on the Inspiration channel... even though I own the series DVD’s. At least twice a year I enjoy them marathon-style! Thank you so much for all these years of wholesome, family entertainment! This series will NEVER get old to me! The Homecoming-Christmas Story is ALWAYS the very first Christmas movie I watch each December on DVD, and I wind up rewatching again before the season is over. 💕
This is Anita: I'm enjoying seeing you video's Judy and thank you for each of them. I'm still watching the Waltons on Hallmark Drama! I love them now like I did growing up
THANK YOU!! For taking time out of your busy schedule to share your sweet memories of The Waltons! Much appreciative!! ☺ God bless you and your family!! ☺
Thank you for this channel. It's So great to hear some back story. Also great to hear that you keep in touch. Richard Thomas is an amazing actor...As you are too, by the way. One word about Richard Thomas....Lips! Be still my beating heart! :-)
I always loved how the actors put their hearts into each character they portrayed. I love how the writers made every character very different -yet meshed everyone together to make the perfect family unit. Did you study or get to meet the real Mary-Ellen before you played her?
I cried once a week watching the Waltons. Sometimes happy tears, sometimes sad. All connected to the sweetness of the family I didn’t have. My parents were both only children (no aunts, no uncles, no cousins). My dad was on the road most of the time. I had one older sister. We didn’t get along. I did have the sweetest grandma ever. They’re all gone now. Thanks for giving me such lovely memories that never were.
I love this! And the funny stories about Richard. I'm really glad you're willing to share those memories with us. I find it personal and meaningful. Thank you.
It's a testament to the sheer brilliance of Richard Thomas as an actor that any role he takes on, he owns. Unbelievably versatile. I'm enjoying these videos. Good job! ❤💯👍
Hey Judy. When was it that you all knew, you really knew, that you were making a legacy show? Many shows are popular, but the Walton's endures and is still valued. Could you tell by say season three that this show had that special something? Thanks
I Have : The Waltons Movie Collection (A Wedding on Walton's Mountain / Mother's Day / A Day for Thanks / A Walton Thanksgiving Reunion / Wedding / Easter). Bought it on Amazon, it's a three disc collection.
Judy this is fabulous. I'm 58 years old and have been watching the waltons since the beginning. I still watch it everyday. When everyone was having to stay inside when the covid first started our cable company gave us hallmark drama for free and i watched it all day. Now that people are getting out more they took it off. Boo Hoo. But i do get to watch it on metv twice a day. I never get tired of it. Now i can watch your channel and find out thin that i didn't know. Thank you so much and God bless.
I got the whole family watching now. Who knew you’d be just as loved all these decades later as then, if not more so. The Walton’s are just what we needed.
Hi Judy, Can you go behind the scenes of the Best Christmas 🎄? With all that is going on in the world today. It's a comfort to put in a Walton DVD. And try to forget things for awhile. Our lives are turned upside down 🙃 But soon we'll be upside right 🙂 Hang in there Stay safe 😷 Take care 🙂 Keep positive 🙏 We'll get through this together Enjoy your videos 👍😃 Do you keep in touch with the cast ?
Goodnight Johnboy lol .... I loved that scene he did when they were talking about the bible and Adolf Hitler think it was called the firestorm one of my favorite episodes
Woa there a minute! I’m working on getting the hearted comments from Ms. Judy, you are going to have to get in line and wait. I seem to recall Richard having an accident on the way to an awards show, he was clearly agitated but excited and he said the car was a write off but he came out OK. It must have been a constantly challenging world for the members of this iconic show on their personal lives and their real families.
I still can't watch, "The Homecoming," without crying at least twice. Once when John Boy is telling his mom about why he is writing, his dreams and the other when he's waiting, looking out the window, worrying about his dad and trying to tell his younger siblings about the miracle that happens at midnight on Christmas, almost crying. It gets me every time. There weren't a lot of TV shows we got to watch growing up but The Waltons was always on the schedule.
I enjoyed The Waltons growing up way back when. But the has lost its warmth with me because I have not had anyone that I feel really close to, to enjoy it with. The same is true for Little House on the Prairie. I did enjoy your video very much. A little about me: I write Christian Poetry and I have some of my performance videos on TH-cam. I'm sure you'll enjoy my videos like I've enjoyed yours.
Good morning, Judy! I don't know if you know this, but there's a short clip of Will Geer and Richard Thomas mooning on TH-cam, and that's all I'm gonna say about that :-) I was sad to see that John-Boy was played by another actor near the end of the series, no one else could carry it like Richard did!
Jeff, can you imagine how hard it was for the actor stepping into that role after Richard Thomas? I would not want to be that guy, so you have to give him credit for taking such a big risk. In acting, without risk there is no reward, eh?
Judy... i have only 1 issue with these productions. They are too short. I could listen to you for hours. Thank you and all the Walton's members for bringing so much happiness to us... even now in old re-runs.
Judy- our family watched all of the episodes of the Waltons. They don't make shows that are that wholesome anymore. We enjoyed watching all of you grow up on the show. Thanks for posting this.

oh you're so right about everything........
I agree
I've only just found your memories of the Waltons and l'm really enjoying them . I'm 77 now and absolutely loved the weekly visit to Walton's Mountain. Being an only child it made me wish l'd been part of a family like them . The stories were wonderful and over the years , along with all your other fans, l've laughed, worried , smiled and cried at all the stories. I'm so glad they're still available to see on various media. Thanks for all the pleasure the Walton Family has given us over the years.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. So glad you enjoy the show.
I really missed Richard Thomas when he left.
Me too
Robert Wightman, the other John Boy, was not as good
@@kachoo2135 No.. No one could ever replace Richard Thomas. Missed him a lot when he left the show.
What season did he leave in?
@@karyndewit193 He left the 5th Season.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful comments.
I love how John boy was seen as the hope and joy of the parents and grandparents. Especially grandma. She was tough,
hard working and a no nonsense woman. But at times, her heart would fill and you could see the love for John boy.
So true.
Thank you!
Wow... must have been something around your house growing up ;)
John Ritter died around the time of my 50th birthday. I was a very big fan of Three's Company
Thursday nights at 8 pm. I’m 59. Me and two of my brothers would be watching a small black and white TV. Coming from a broken home iThe Walton’s gave me a sense of what I thought is a normal family. The stories touched the hearts of many . Thank you.
It was the normal family many of us did not have. Well said.
Was before my time but watch all the reruns, they take you to a great place:)🍁
@Connie Very well said!
My wife's favorite John-boy scene was when he returned from NY and snuck up on Olivia outside pulling weeds or something. When she turned and looked at him, the look in his eye's was just magical.
That's my favorite John-Boy scene also. The love in his and Olivia's eyes was wonderful and amazing.

You are so welcome
Julie I just want to thank you for what you're doing The waltons got me through a very difficult route to it and I still watch them today and have most of the DVDs thank you very much for bringing
I loved. The walton and yancy
I never get tired of watching the reruns. That also was my grandmother’s favorite show in the early 70s. I never met anyone that disliked The Walton’s. Thank you 🙏 ❤️
ME TOO WATCH RERUNS WITH HUBBY ON PRIME EVERY NIGHT!!!
I am watching reruns on Metv and my heart is full. Brings back so many memories
Isn’t it wonderful to be able to still have that good feel while watching it
Love it that Metv is running it
same here. wondering if MeTV will show the reunion movies also.
Good memories for me ! I remember where I was at on Thursday at 800 pm ! I loved loved loved the Waltons
TCC309 You can buy the whole series and it comes with all the movies
You're so welcome.
Always loved the Waltons. If people could just take the simple lessons they taught, we would be in a better place.
Great job! 👍🏻
I also watch it as an escape from this crazy world. Helps my stress and depression so much.
Same here, it's nothing on TV
in 2020
If I had a dollar for everytime I heard someone say that exact thing, I would be a millionaire! An indication of the comfort The Waltons brought to many viewers.
@@sharonjackson268 you're right, the shows on now combined with the daily news are too violent and The Waltons is the best show to watch for relaxation and a reminder of better times
@Robert I agree 100%.
Sheila, I know that movie! I agree it's a good one. I look for it every xmas and usually find it on some channel.
I'm not surprised to hear about the type of person he was in real life. It comes across the screen in his performances. He's a real gentleman. His parents raised him right.
I saw that movie 2-3 years ago and thought it was good. A wholesome family show.
I can watch The Christmas Box anytime because I bought it along with it's prequil Timepiece.☺️☺️🎈⭐⭐♥️🇺🇸
I have been really enjoying all these stories and behind the scenes!
She is still as gorgeous as she was then.
@@leb5410 wasn’t just in America, she was also loved in Oz
I miss the Waltons so much especially the early years. That was a beautiful time in my life, they were like my family. I remember when Grandpa passed away and when Ellen came back after her stroke, I cried uncontrollably because I really loved them both. I wanted them to be my grandparents! May they rest in peace 😢
OMG Judy, You brought this almost 63 year old guy to tears. Thank YOU and all the cast members for welcoming us into your home on Waltons Mt. and for all these wonderful videos you are doing !
You are so welcome!
One of the best shows of all time. Nothing today comes close. My fav episode with Richard Thomas was the Literary Man.
I'm glad to hear Richard Thomas was great to work with. The Waltons was never hokey it was just genuinely good entertainmemt. John Ritter as a preacher has always amazed me. Such awesone stories of your fellow actors.
Hello Judy. I loved the show growing up in the 70's and 80's. Thanks for the memories.
Now we can watch "the Homecoming" knowing you had a crush on Richard at the time. How cool!
Cute... right?
John Boy always reminded me of my older brother Tommy. The best big brother anyone could ever have.
How wonderful for you.
Thank you for creating such a high caliber show that lasts the test of time.
Our pleasure!
Glad you enjoyed.
Great video. I would love to see at least one more reunion movie. That would be fantastic. The last one I believe was from 1997.
Ami I totally agree, another reunion would be great. I was thinking maybe to play tribute to all the character s who actors have pass ed away. Where they visit the grave site and has they visit they flashbacks of them.
Well a large part of the cast has passed on now though
Cora Beth Ike Grandma and Grandpa John Sr
Would like to see it. Wasnt the last movie in1969? They moved the timeline up a bit for that one.
I love to watch The Waltons, thankfully it comes on every day at noon for me. I even skip half of my soaps just to watch the show. Your talks are great, I've watched many of them. I so miss the show and wish it had run for so much longer. I watched it when it first came out and really enjoy the reruns.
So glad you enjoy the show.

Thanks to you for bringing these memories to us.....
Judy/Maryellen, how could you sell John Boys typewriter to the junk man!!?? LOL
Thank you Judy for these wonderful videos. I love learning about how the show was made and all about the cast members. I was a young boy when The Waltons were new and I will always love and admire this show for it's great stories and commitment towards family values. They don't make family shows as good as this anymore.
Glad you enjoyed it
Love him!! I love those beautiful eyes, and his smile is mesmerizing!! Richard is an amazing actor/ performancer.
Thank you so much.
Lovely, Judy, thank you.
My pleasure.
So glad you enjoyed this. Yes - we are so lucky.
I just love these videos! You speak with such love & fondness of your fellow actors that it truly warms my heart and puts a smile on my face the entire time you are speaking 💕 I had quite the crush on John Boy also. I had to laugh out loud picturing John-Boy listening to Hendrix! Love it! Thank you Judy for taking the time to make these 🥰
You are so welcome!
Totally agree. Thanks for watching.
I am one of the biggest walton fan and without Richard Thomas playing john boy the show wouldn't be the same. Cant tell you how much joy this show has brought me. I watch waltons episodes everyday before I go to bed. Thank you for making these videos
I cannot express just how much my family enjoyed the Waltons. These little peeks behind the scenes are a treat indeed.
I was 9 years old when the first Walton’s series aired. I had such a schoolgirl crush on Richard Thomas! 🤣😂❤️
So did I and I was 14.
Me too
I was also 9 when it started.
Thanks so much.
Thank you.
Thank you so much for this :-) I was thinking of John Ritter today, the anniversary of his passing. Really enjoyed him on the Waltons.
Loved John Ritter. God rest his soul.
Yeah remember that episode-where he played a young fire and brimstone preacher.
Jim Elliott I stand corrected.
He married Miss Hunter. John Boys teacher.
It really was a lovely episode. So happy to hear you appreciate it.
Thanks for continuing to watch.
Wonderful!
I can't imagine what it must've been like being an actor and taking on a role like that. The gentleman deserves a lot of credit for his efforts.

So great to hear. Glad you got to see Richard on stage.

Hey Judy. When was it that you all knew, you really knew, that you were making a legacy show? Many shows are popular, but the Walton's endures and is still valued. Could you tell by say season three that this show had that special something? Thanks
It was some years before we understood the impact.

my second favorite episode, behind the: 'Five foot Shelf'
Goodnight Johnboy lol .... I loved that scene he did when they were talking about the bible and Adolf Hitler think it was called the firestorm one of my favorite episodes
I remember that, brilliant, just brilliant, still remember it, after all these years, just shows how, these shows, make an impact on you,
I love these be hind the scenes I must admit I had the biggest crush on you and still do. Thank you for your work and remembrances..
Wow, thank you
Woa there a minute!
I will always love the show. Miss those who aren’t here today. I watch the show over and over…. and cry over and over.
Ahh, that's sweet.
Thanks so much for watching and for sharing.
The actor who played John Boy back from the war had HUGE shoes to fill. Must have been very difficult for him and the cast
I had heard about that clip - haven't seen it.
Jeff, can you imagine how hard it was for the actor stepping into that role after Richard Thomas? I would not want to be that guy, so you have to give him credit for taking such a big risk. In acting, without risk there is no reward, eh?
Link?
Judy... i have only 1 issue with these productions. They are too short. I could listen to you for hours. Thank you and all the Walton's members for bringing so much happiness to us... even now in old re-runs.
Judy- our family watched all of the episodes of the Waltons. They don't make shows that are
that wholesome anymore. We enjoyed watching all of you grow up on the show.
Thanks for posting this.
My pleasure.
