    It’s sad that I know more about English kings and queens and not Kings and queens from my own race. I didn’t learn anything about African royalty in school.

      Ridiculous statements. Are you not English? Were you born in England?
      Seems a whole bunch of people are playing by one set of rules, while a hole other bunch of people are expected to adhere to an entirely different set of rules

      @taroncarter4682 Design? As in, in Britain they teach the History of Britain??? Yes, that's by design.
      Same design as followed by Indians learning the history of India, and Chinese the history of China... and so forth.

    The people who founded Aksum Kingdom were a mix of Semitic and Cushitic not just Semitic.
    Edit: Semitic though does not designate a group as a Middle Eastern in Ethnicity to clarify Semitic is a language family which I know comes as a surprise to most people.

    • @FoodFromTheHornCA
      @FoodFromTheHornCA ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Not true. The Horn is a mix of Semetic and Cushitic. Aksum was founded by Eritrean and Ethiopian Semite ethnic groups such as Tigray and Amhara. Somalis and Afars would be considered ethnically Cushitic

      Habesha Semites are not the same as Middle Eastern Semites, although both groups share some ancestry and had some admixture throughout their history. The languages reflect this almost exactly, with Ethiopian Semitic languages sharing ancestry and some words with Middle Eastern Semitic languages but being very different in other ways. Ethnolinguistics is a field for a reason.

    The Axumite kingdom was more dominated by the tigrigna speaking people of today and the first language to be adapted from ge'ez was tigrigna not amharic which is a very important detail that you missed or didn't look into it very well.

      It's the same both are semetic language n people , geez first splitted into geez n tigrigna ... Tigrigna later splitted into Amharic ,
      They are coming from a father language geez and geez is southern Arabian semetic language,
      Both tigrigna n Amharic or Thier ancestors geez are the only black mixed semetic ppl in africa , that founded ethiopian empire ,
      Through out centuries as the population grows , the kingdom shifts it's location and as they interact n mix with other Cushites like the agaw ppl , they started to split into different groups such as tigre and Amhara , but both can trace the ancient ethiopians despite the admixtures
      We are talking about a time span of more than 3000 years !

    It was the 3rd most powerful empire At the time ! don’t forget they had gigantic war ships from which Europeans learned the design from . They traded with Europeans , Indians and Arabs using the sea . You can still unearth Gold items if you go to Ethiopia in Tigray . Because at that time the people where very rich and used gold for basic household items .

    The church positively used Christianity to strengthen the bonds between people and establish social behaviors to guide the lifestyles of the common people. However, it is unarguable that there were many episodes of power abuse and violence in the name of faith throughout history.
