This was at the peak of the show. Something should have become of this in the ending.
Because it was rushed. If they rushed Ygritte and Jon, would seem forced. Seasons 6-8 should have been seasons 6 -12. That’s dozens - or hundreds - of hours left on cutting room floor.

Right. These two are like...fictional romance perfection. I usually don't care much for romantic subplots but I adored them together. Like...Dany and Jon was so underwhelming by comparison....

I will always continue to think that Martin's only real mistake was that he had little regard for a character of Ygritte's depth. He got rid of it too soon. He had to exploit it much more by making her die at the end of the series (see Missandei). In the books, her death scene is even made more anonymous. Jon finds her on the battlefield dying, well, at least in the series her death is emotionally of a very different depth. A character of this level had to have a less marginal and more constant role in the plot as I see it, obvious how the scene of Daenerys death leaves little or nothing in the viewer. Jon knew how she was her aunt considered her only "her queen" of her, but even before her this "love" from a purely biochemical point of view transmitted very little. Ygritte, on the other hand, was perfect for Jon because she reflected her ideal of her of a world with no kingdoms, thrones or dominions of anyone. They could use the scene where Ygritte spares the life of Gilly and her son to have Jon take her injured to them, during the attack on Castle Black, to be healed...
her death in game of thrones is so tragic but handled beautifully and necessary for jon's development.

The only redemption of her death is that the two actors truly fell in love and continue on. I like to think of it as Jon and Ygritte continuing on and being happy.

It really depresses me whenever I watch Igrette die and the moment when Jon Snow walks away from her. They really are the best couple in the movie and in the real world. I really hated how they ended up in the show which broke my heart and probably all of you who watched this show. This show should've been a total romance if each of their group they belong to weren't opposing each other, but sadly since it wasn't their love was a totally forbidden love.

That wasn't why at all. Dany had just burned down a surrendered city full of civilians and thought mass destruction was the way to a better world. Jon was willing to give her a pass for KL if she'd just agree to stop. He never wanted to kill her at all and couldn't bring himself to feel it was right to kill her after.
