It takes a different breed of person to do this for a living. Some of those kicks shook my core. I was literally wincing for these dudes the entire time. Not being able to stand up or walk SUCKS!!
Ernesto Hoost can deliver a leg kick at close range like a mule & flatten his opponents. Notice in the fight against Mirko Cro Cop who also was known for devastating leg kicker Ernesto knocked him out with leg kicks.
Crocop great high kick but he didn't abuse low kick entering the combo, like many other specialists. Hoost was the next Rob Kaman, You don't find better angles and footwork than Kaman.
@@adofonconi9753 Cro Cop was less experienced in the Hoost fight. He later developed a very strong low kick and used it to finish Hidehiko Yoshida in Pride.
I ate ONE low kick like this in sparring once and I was limping for three days. I don't know how these guys take 10 of these in a row and keep fighting.
The more mass you have on your calves though the worse you are for wear. Look at John Jones legs and his ability to eat those leg kicks like nothing, his calves are tiny...
In each video you can see right from the start that one fighter has trained at the low side kick more than the other and really know how to make that strike count. Game over.
Cause it's all they know, they assume that offensive punches will get the job done, until they realize that with no footwork they won't be able to throw good punches
One of the best leg fights was watching Rick Rufus getting chopped down by nothing but leg kicks! He was running from the guy by the end of it. Literally Running!
I agree best legendary fight ever. Honestly thai guy didn't use the leg kick technique until later in the fight. Had he started with that, do you think the fight would have lasted as long?😮😅
You rarely see low kick KO in one hit, if you constantly hit the same area the flood will start to rush there and the capillar blood system will explode everytime you hit so blood starts to spread in the tissues then it's an inflammation and that's when it really starts to hurt. That's one way to use leg kicks there are many ways to use them kick boxers will use them to create opening for combo, muay thai will just spam powershots.
I love these fighters who really dont seem to understand that 1 low kick is nothing to worry about but 50 will will bring you down. You cant just sit there and take them.
Lebanner understimated his own low kick he knew had to place them and had very heavy and powerful legs, you don't see the power of his low kicks here but had he used them more in K-1 he would not be known as the uncrowned king today but as the king.
Deadleg is a painful, painful thing. Being KO'd you might be alright after a headache but you will feel that leg for weeks after a strong, well-placed leg kick
These kicks on the quads hurts af. I've taken uppercuts, good hits on the head, even leg kicks on the head but a light kick to the quads was the worst feeling. It took me like 5 min to recover.
Them leg kicks, they hurt like a mutha phucka and the pain won't go away the next few days. Took kick boxing when I was really young and the way the Muay Thai practiced their kicks by kicking full grown banana trees then they go to regular trees, the hard one.
What a frustrating way to go out. You’re not that tired, your head is fine, you want to fight, but you can’t stand 😂
But you know you'll be in severe pain for days if not weeks.
@@davidcookson9424 hell, you might not ever walk the same again
It's nice to see a young CroCop losing to leg kicks, and in a few years coming back and winning by leg kicks.
That's why he is one of the greatest 💪
Yup. Years ago I had a friend very, very lightly tap me on the thigh with a shin kick and it hurt so bad. I can't imagine what these guys endure.

Mirko Crocop? at least looks like him.
he learned - u can see in 5:00 min
he lost that match to ernesto hoost. there are several dutch fighters in this.

0:17 : referee felt the pain as well.
Red scorpion,my favorite K-1from that time.
I've been watching MMA for a long time. My favorite TKOs are from the guys that are expert at leg kicks.
Rob Kaman, Hoost and Saki are my favorites, but others too (Crocop, Aerts, Hug, Ignashov...) : great vid !

I have never seen anyone recover from a low kick KO and comeback and win.
Legs not like brain, brain can be temporarily shocked, dazed, legs break down.
anyone who experienced dead legs knows the pain
Rick Rufus was the first leg kick fail.
It is easier to execute a leg kick than a punch because it's harder for your opponent to block a leg kick.
Maybe yes, maybe not.
It's far more dangerous, anyway.
You could break your foot or gamba if you don't do it right.
I've seen that. It's horrible.
WRONG. It is EASY to block a lowkick. You block it with THE KNEE
