Just found a “Kamiki” guitar at an estate sale & wondering if you know anything about it. It has a metal nut patented in 1916 that raises the strings up. I see a book on “Kamiki Hawaiian Guitar Method” online so I’m assuming it is Hawaiian style. It’s in pieces at the moment cuz the top has come unglued and the neck was loose but it looks fixable. Tune it to open G? Light gauge strings? The body wood is VERY thin & it looks cheaply made.
Would have been great to have someone that plays Hawaiian style on these rather than dobro blues licks. Oh well. Those rich harmonics were not heard or demonstrated. :(
